Watertown, NY, USA . "Public Square" (vintage, date unknown) but the monument is honoring veterans of the American Civil War so the date of the image is late 1800s

time to retire, no music on except that which is in my head, music has been an important part of my life, a relief valve, sometimes a place to hide, sometimes a way to show off, to shout to the world all is well,.......of course that has sometimes been misunderstood, some people think i'm a little nuts........untrue!!!!!!!........i'm a whole lot nuts......but i do play with a full deck....all 52 cards.....of course they're all jokers.......but oh well...........night all
quiet afernoon, watched remeber the titans never had watched it before, good solid thought provoking flick....added new link for blogboard, just click the gif.........
poulenc and coffee.......the weather continues to be entertaining, got snow yesterday, and rain last night into this morning so all the snow is basically gone...it's funny how many times when sitting here i have many things to say, other times nothing... and some times like today, confused..things to say, but no coherent thoughts, no way to phrase, the mind is a jumble of unrelated bits, i guess i need to run defrag on my mind......

Friday, November 29, 2002

from the spam emails: one i got today "tired of being fat"......how did they know?........do i type fat?....i don't have a web cam.....i'll bet it's racial profiling, it's racial bias again...all trolls are fat, where's my lawyer.....i'll sue........brahms#1, tragic overature and tea
snowy, cold, and windy......pretty typical weather for this time of year, not a whole lot of accumulation, maybe 3 or 4 inches.....but will really screw up the traffic out by the mall with the heavy shopping day.......just best to stay out of that mess....
the colors didn't grow on me, way too bright.........these however i like a lot.......but i will probably keep messin'

Thursday, November 28, 2002

been messing with my colors, not sure i'm total satisfied with it, but maybe it will grow on me, reminds me of the color of mold, appropiate for a troll, and what grows on my mind........in the middle of playing with my template my isp kicked me off.......sheesshh!!!..double sheeesshh!!! in the middle of typing this got kick off again.......att stands for "always ticking-off trolls"
Tnn is showing a whole bunch of Bond films this weekend, no matter how often i watch them i am still entertained......actually they are the exception to the rule, i like both the movies and the books, probably because with the earlier ones they really made no real attempt to follow the books so in effect you had two different stories, and the later movies are only loosely based on the characters...The name is Troll....Bud Troll ......0054
thanksgiving morning, coffee and a cat, the cat is giving thanks for my lap, and is trying to clean my hands for me as i type.....alright i'll give up and pet you............

Wednesday, November 27, 2002

tea and a very interesting cd, got it thru the BBC music mag which i used to subscribe to,it's the examples of the work of 4 female composers who wrote in the 1800's when of course that was not the fashion, now i'm not particularly a feminist, nor am i a chauvanist, i refuse to take sides, but in the case of form/fad/fashion/tradition stifling talent.....let me at the billygoats......the music they created was brilliant........to deny one the right to use a talent based on an arbitrary set of rules.......off with their heads.......
have to run close in 15..never did get to finish inventory.....but just need to put it in final....monday is time enough....4 day weekend....yahoooooooooooo!!!.........taggie is being grumpy again.....well i geuss there are other's out there....or i could spring for enhanced board.......cheap and lazy are a dangeous combination..........old/cheap and lazy is even worst........but then if you threw out all my character flaws i've have no character at all......beware childern i'm what you become if you don't eat your vegetables...

there once was a man from spain
who ran naked around in the rain
because of that biz
he has rhumatiz
and is forced to walk with a cane
and i was hoping for a slow day....sheesh!!!!...haven't got within a hundred miles of month end inventory, well that's not entirely true...i did get the work sheets run.......just a trace of snow over night, guess we were on the back side of the storm Mass. caught...well as long as i get the rough count done i can clean it up next week.........or i could come in friday to finish it....yah right
we love you taggie, oh yes we do-hoo
and to you taggie we will be true-hoo
when you're not working boo-hoo
oh taggie we need you

yah,right........

Tuesday, November 26, 2002

oh joy, i just remembered i have a month end inventory to do tomorrow, i really love doing inventorties.......yah right.......if i ever meet someone who really enjoys inventory work...i'm going watch him/her real close, and kept as much distance between us as possible.....one advantage is day before thanksgiving... place should be dead, and maybe i can get it done without being interrupted 3 million times, i swear that one of these days i'm going to accidentally drop my pager in front of a forklift, i wonder if they'll believe i ran over it 30 times before i realized it.......probably not i have a history with pagers, i managed to drop one in a toilet, really that was an accident....i mean it really was, another time i was in a bar with a couple of guys from engineering and it went off, i laid it on the table when i went to the phone, came back and it was at the bottom of a pitcher of beer..........try explaining that one......
taggie is still down.........a pain but after all it is free.....brahms #4 followed by zigeunerlieder and tea........it's funny how somedays i'm just full of ideas and things to write, from the profound right thru the total idiotic........dead tired tonight which usually produces a stream of lunacy on my part but the well is pretty empty.......yet i still feel like i should try.......but then i usually do, most people find me very trying. reminds me of the old gag about the guy who was appling for a job when asked if he was responsible replied "i must be" and the interviewer asked why he said that and he replied " the last job i had everytime something went wrong they said i was responsible"......
oh where oh where has my taggie gone
oh where oh where can it be
it seems that lately it's always down
oh where oh where can it be

i hope that that's not a copyright infringement but i'm sure that dittie is in the public domain

cold nasty day this am, with snow on the way
but 2 days left and then a 4 day weekend,

Monday, November 25, 2002

to keep you up dated on the offline developements in the "he drops the_____" wars here at work, in retaliation for "he drops the turkey" and to keep up the thanksgiving theme, "i dropped the mayflower"........i was thinking of dropping the plymouth rock but i chickened out...(ouch...that one hurt me)
mid 30's F temp this morning, spitting a little snow, predicting snow all week......"i'm dreaming of a white Thanksgiving...." ( aren't you glad this blog isn't rigged for sound) (warning: pun alert system just snapped on) i have a great voice, in fact everyone i know says my voice grates on them........( i can hear the groan, i feel your pain........and i love it......hehehe)

Sunday, November 24, 2002

sundays have become a very hectic day, must find some way to drop out an activity but don't see how........tea and silence too lazy to get up and turn the cd on........ah the wonders of technology the remote is within arm's lenght........of course the remote is of little use if there is no disc in the machine......dang.......beethoven..egmont,leonore,3....vintage recordings remastered ......toscanini and the nbc so. .............2 from 1939...1 from 1945............maybe not the best performance but certainly my fav of the 3rd was one i heard live down at SU.......my daughter was playing 3rd horn in it........the older recordings that have been remastered do a pretty good job as far as the strings and woodwinds are concerned but the bass sound like their playing into garbage cans........to tired to go on........night.........zzzzzzzzzzzzz.......
faure requiem is filling the room, along with the mozart requiem, and the bach b minor mass probably my 3 favorite choral works ( this week.....contents of the list and their order subject to change).......i was not real picky in choosing a cd of the bach and the mozart have heard serveral different recordings/treatments and like them all, however the faure i listened to serveral different recordings before i picked one. the difference is that i have never had the chance to sing either the bach or the mozart but have sung in the faure twice, i would not say that those performances were the equal of the pro recordings but hearing the music from the inside as it were gives you a totally different set of memories as how it should sound......i rarely watch a movie/tv show based on a book i've read........i more often then not end of hating the show because they rarely do the book justice. this also works in reverse, i watch the A&E series on the Hornblower saga, have all six video tapes, watched them over and over, then decided to buy and read the 11 volume set of Hornblower books .........i read and reread the books but rarely ever watch the videos anymore.....
mozart with witt and faure in the wings, and a diet pepsi.........witt is kind of a strange story almost nothing is know of the man and his work lived from 1770-1836.....in 1909 orchestral parts were found for a symphony in C in Jena, there was a note found with them indicating the composer as beethoven, which was generally accepted until 1957 when another copy surfaced and it was discovered that the composer was witt, nice piece of music.........i'll probably have to wait until 100 years after my death for my greatest to be understood also..........(sigh!!)................(.hehehe).............more likely then not that's 100 million years..... i might make it....i have been refered to by many as a dinosaur.....at work i get ragged on about my age.........i was talking about Plato one day and some wise guy asked me if i knew him........i said sadly no.....but i did date his sister.....
as i sit here reading what i just wrote over the last few entries, i was struck by the relationship between poulenc/praetorius....except that i listened to both last night, with a little mozart between them it really is more a contradiction then a relationship, Dances from Tersichore were writing in 1612, while down the hall, way down the hall in 1959 poulenc was working on Gloria, but then i think that anyone who has bothered to read this site realizes that it seems that the real contradiction is the old crazy troll. i've got old enough i guess not only to accept the contradictions in myself, but to revel in them, in fact i've gotten old enought that i also enjoy sticking them in people's faces and going.... nah,nah!..nah,nah,nah!
poulenc and coffee.......just a note on the links...boys/girls listed are either off the blog board or those who have stop by and were brave enought to tagged the troll, so as revenge i've linked their great sites to this peice of rotting brain droppings...checkout the blogboard here.....
no new snow overnight, but never went anywhere yesterday so will have to allow a bit of extra time to get that ____ off the car before heading out for the day...

Saturday, November 23, 2002

Praetorius and tea......my first exposure to praetorius was thru transcriptions for brass, and of course that kid's classic "do you know the muffin man".......this particular recording is H.I.P.........and i much prefer it.......although i do think that sometimes the H.I.P. movement is carried a bit too far........i think the crumhorn is neat........but then praetorius' period used the recorder heavily..and though i'm just a hack i do enjoy playing the recorder.......but then emotionally i never really got past the fourth grade any who.......(sorry hip.....historic instrument performance)
i've been giving thought this afternoon to creating a troll version of the legandary statue the thinker, but the troll version would be the stinker. now if i can only figure out how to make a likeness out of old billygoat bones of a farting troll.......

In Eskimo-Aleut apparently there are many words for snow. In the troll language there are also many words for snow, I dont know about E-A but in troll they are all 4 letter words. Most of which you are probably familiar with, but possible not in reference to snow. Well we got 6+ inches of the snow overnight. From the perspective of upstate New York, particularly from one who lives in the lee of Lake Ontario, 6 of snow is usually described as only 6 , Ive seen it snow a foot of snow an hour, and get 48 of the stuff in an afternoon, so from that point of view 6 is nothing. However from my troll point of view, this particular morning..dang.I really do hate this _______.

Friday, November 22, 2002

another evening, another cat on the lap, this one however is not behaving...strike that this one is behaving very badly so this will be short.......
the russians and tea.......same as last night but just dog lazy tonight....it's suppose to get cold and snow tonight......2 days off then a short week next week....thanksgiving next thursday and friday off....i need the the time off........i feel like i've been drug thru a knothole backwards,.........twice.............and there was a nail in it........
Ive decided that I should attempt to explain the He drops the ______ tags that have been appearing. I work in a factory and have for the last 30+ years. The way humor is expressed ranges from the profound thru the profane and out past the limits of the mind to comprehend. I had a clerk a few years back that was quite a character. He loved the WWF and also jumping out form many and sundry places to surprise you. This was usually accompanied by He drops the elbow, on one particular occasion he just about gave randy the big one. Hes gone but the game has stayed and evolved to the point where it's become verbal fencing as to who can come up with the craziest thing to drop. Usually this involves some trait or hobby of the individual, for example the "he drops the beagle" was probably randy who raises field grade beagles. I think some of us stay up way too late at night trying to think of new things to drop, although I must admit that He drops the turkey is a classic.
the tag war continues.....it should be blatantly obvious from the tenor of QC54's tags who the real turkeys are......
ah the boys from QC are at it again(see tag board)....obviously they have an extreme case of dropsy......or at the very least have gone to the dogs...if it is clinical dropsy it's quite probable that the collection of fluid is on the brain.........
Ive always loved the pun .the play on words, word(s)/phrases with double meanings (yah I know theres a French phrase for that but when I typed what I thought it was into the word processor one of the options was cheeseburger, I dont know whether that means I wasnt closeor I should stop stealing software from Mickey Ds).
But then English has always been a foreign language for me. Troll is much simpler. Almost non-verbal. We are big time into punctuation. As in Im going to punctuate your mush with this club..
good morning boys and girl and all the ships at sea the troll is taking the planet by storm .....( alice cooper's "elected" can be heard playing in the background).......i've been in an "alice" state of mind for a bit....i'm roaming the plant singing "billion dollar babies"....you'd best alert the national guard......or at the very least the mental health unit......remember the bell might "troll" for you........( warning:pun alert system is off line)

Thursday, November 21, 2002

well it turns out that QC54 was tom after all....will have to call down the curse of the crows on him......3 cups of coffee and i think that i'm alive again, well as alive as i ever am, probably will watch surivor at 8, yah...yah... i know but i'm hooked on it....it probably indicates a major character flaw, or more probably a total lack of there of, but then i'm a troll and if you don't like it well.............!!!
Im sitting here trying to type, I have a cat on my lap. While it may be comfortable for her, it makes the process for me a tad difficult. She has settled down a bit so maybe I have half a chance to finish this. I feel like a worn out dish rag to night, thats one of the things that my granny used to say on days that she was tired, well thats about how I feel today. No energy left. And not any real power of concentration, just can seem to focus on anything right now. However this is pretty typical for this time of year, the changeable weather always seems to effect me like thisRimsky-Korsakov followed by Borodin and coffee. Had a problem earlier to day, my achieves disappeared, but republished and their back.

I dont think that Ive mentioned this but Im a golf nut, well okay actually Im just plain nuts but I also happen to like golf. Probably not until golf season starts again around here, that would be March or April, I think I will probably start another blog to record my activities on the course, Ive always thought about keeping a record, but never have, this may be an easy way to do itof course the way I play I may keep it private.

I sitting here off line using a word processor, and it doesnt recognize blog, well dang

i've obviously made a tactical error, i gave tom and randy the url for my blog, if you look at the tag-board the comment from QC 54 is one or the other or both.....actually it probably took both of them to figure out how to use it, and they are the QC deptment here......sheeshhhhh!!!!!.........i may be crazy and nuts but i have no intention of trying to explain the comment......
was talking to randy and tom about blogging this am, if those two rascals get involved.....there goes the neighborhood.......
sitting here with my morning coffee trying to wake up......not working so far...nothing funny to say, or profound, or even profane,

Wednesday, November 20, 2002

several people here at work have computer pets, cute, cuddily stuffed animals that sit on their monitors........i have one too....it's a gargoyle.....my daughter bought it for me .....she said she saw it in a store and it reminded her of me so she got it......i guess i can't get too upset over her sense of humor after all...(Warning,Warning,Danger Will Robinson,Danger...PUN ALERT_PUN ALERT) she is wearing my genes......
this is a test.....if it was a really troll crisis you would be required to sing four choruses of the troll national anthem
the troll's got himself a tag-board
and i'm not expecting a horde
give me a tag
don't make me nag
or throw your butt into a fjord.
it's a warm but rainy day today, Nov. weather can be so weird up here, cold and snow one day....mid 50'sF the next........much as i am enjoying today i would rather that it just got cold, and stayed there for a while....when it yo-yo's it drives me nuts......okay so you won't have to burn any gas to drive me nuts....it's a short trip.....
ccccccccccrazy day so far, been running around like a chicken without my head.......added a tag board.......

Tuesday, November 19, 2002

time to drop off for the night, snuggle into my bed under the bridge, i've got an early in tomorrow..........but not sleepy.......
handel and tea, got the complete Messiah in the player.........your lucky this blog ain't rigged for audio as i will probably be singing along for most of the evening
the mellow is starting to return.....but i'll be outa here in 10.......
what is it about people now a days that they must have instant gratification, why is it that they can't accept an answer they don't want to hear, even if it's the only one there is and why do they need to do this with only 2 hours left in a day when i have been in a mellow mood.
......poooooffffffffff!!!!!!!!.....ah .........actually i feel better now......more my normal bad tempered self..........thanks i need that........i was almost on the verge of changing my opinion about humankind............release the billgoats..........
remarkable, i've made it almost thru the day and i'm still pretty mellow........
sheeshhh!!!!! i've got to quit reading google-news here's the headline "US Scientists Link Brain Damage to Snoring" now i may be wrong but my first impression is that this article is about snoring causing brain damage.....if it was it would explain a lot about me...i've been know to snore the siding off the house.......but if you read the article its about the causes of sleep apnea ......somebody is in need of a new headline writer, if interested in article go here
in a mellow mood this morning......boy i hate that......although at least so far there doesn't seem to be any thing really shaking this morning.....something will probably happen to foul my mood......i would rather come to work grumpy......i hate wasting a rare for me mellow mood on work......

Monday, November 18, 2002

bizet and tea........i'm in a light classical frame of mind, any thing heavy tonight would depress me.......jenny one of my cats is wandering around meowing in her bitchie sort of way, they been home alone too long to day....she's been reading me the riot act ever since i got home......warmed up a little and the snow melted off the sidewalks, ground isn't frozen yet, so won't have to spend time on that......surfed a little.....played a few games but don't seem to be able to concentrate on anything to night........0 attention span.....so this probably will end up more stream of conscienceness then normal......or to be prefectly honest you should call me brook because all i'm doing is extruding a stream of bable.......ouch thats two terrible puns in one sentence.....or fragment......but then my mind is fragmented tonight any who........speaking of fragments i think i'd better pull the pin on this...........
i was reading google-news and was attracted to this headline "Astronomers Track Runaway Black Hole in Milky Way" which had the tag "A runaway black hole is streaking through the Milky Way galaxy, dragging an aging star along to snack on as it heads in Earth's general direction, astronomers reported Monday"..... my first reaction was where is Bruce Willis when you need him.........but don't fear we have plenty of time to find him after all it won't get here for another 200 million years, and miss us by 1000 light years....i'd like to know what the writer's definition of general direction is.........any who if interested article is here
For no particular reason Ive been thinking today about truth, and more precisely how we can tell the truth in such a manner that our reader/listener will be deceived, will come to an incorrect conclusion, how be it they will reach the conclusion we want them to reach.
Im reminded of an account of an article that appeared in the press of the USSR during the height of the cold war. It was the results of an auto race where both cars from the USSR and US were entered. The press reported that the USSR car finished second, while the US car finished next to last. This was absolutely true. The obvious conclusion is that the USSR car beat the US car, but that was incorrect. What the press had failed to include in the account was that it was a two-car match race.it reminds me of the old line about polls and statistics figures never lie, but liars often figure..
i've been trying to solve a major problem this morning, but have had to dodge a whole mess of minor ones that have been jumping out of the woodwork, like the old gag says" when your up to your butt in alligators it's hard to remember your prime objective is to drain the swamp". got 3 to 4 inches of snow overnight, i didn't even bother to shovel/blow it, just drove thru it....not bad.....lake effect in the forecast but looks like it will go below us.......
added links to the boys/girls of the blogboard, check it and them out.....links to right

Sunday, November 17, 2002

wish i could thing of something funny, or profound or even witty to write to night, dang i'd even take half witty, which would be a step up from my usual standard but this weather has me in a funk........
got a few inches of snow this afternoon, and some reports say as much as 7-10 inches possible over night.......as i get older i have lost my sense of humor when it comes to snow......i'm not sure whether it's age related or the fact that i've lived almost my entire life in regions that experience lake effect snow and i'm just sick and tired of shoveling/blowing the _____ stuff. i've got an early in to work tomorrow so if it does snow i'll have to get up about 5 am to take care of it.......sheeesh!!!!!!!!!!!! at least it hasn't been real cold yet, normal that does hit us here until Jan/Feb. i can remember one day a few years ago when it was -55*F with 45-50 mph winds, wind chill was something in the neighborhood of -100*F, needless to say nobody went anywhere that day.......
oops that wasn't a little snow i saw, that was between an 1/8 and 1/4 inch of ice, dang took 20 minutes to get the windows on the car clear.....but the driving wasn't bad.........Hummel and tea.........
CPE Bach and coffee, he worked for a time for the king of prussian who was pretty good on the flute, assuming that the flute works of cpe where written for him.........we just had a pres who played the sax as well as monica........i wonder if the court of prussia had interns..........which reminds me Bill C. got kicked off his school curling team.....he had a great out turn but his intern sucked......(rim shot)......got just a little snow over night, is cold and windy this am...........

Saturday, November 16, 2002

moody blues and green tea..........believe it or not i just don't listen to classical........only 99% of the time.......i listen to rock about as often as i drink green tea for that matter............weird mood tonight.........i might actually be turning human...........nah no chance of that
still Grofe and Copeland with Holst in the wings....tea... i not sure if that really fits my mood tonight but it's what's in the machine and i'm too lazy to change it.....was out briefly and we've got a touch of freezing rain....lovely....
went down to the 'cuse for lunch and some shopping, it spit a little snow on the way down, looks like they got a little, maybe an inch or two over night, we ain't got squat yet....but then i'm not complaining
Grofe and coffee...........with a little Copland to follow.......if you haven't checked out the BlogBoard, link is to the right...do it now or else you will be summarily declared to be billygoat and i will find you(hehe).........
been getting a bunch of emails lately, on the surface they are from someone in the congo, promising me much money if i allow them to transfer funds thru my bank account.... now i might have been born yesterday but i wasn't born this morning......any who....... i was doing a little surfing last nite and found this, apparently it's a wider spread scam then i thought.....this is a good site for checking out rumors....

Friday, November 15, 2002

finally got WRR on his way......took just over an hour to load, but discovered i had room for one more pallet.....took a little over 2 hours to get a decision on what to add........(ka-thump.....ka-thump.....ka-thump( troll drumming fingers)).......almost time to head out for a little dinner and then two days under the bridge...ahhhhh!!! i do hope the billygoat is fresh at the local bistro tonight.......
did i ever mention that i hate fridays...........
wet, cold and nasty this morning and the weather isn't good either...(rim shot)....got a load going to west coast whse with WRR, man's trailer has a floor that if it gets a little wet is about as slippery as i've ever seen, everytime i load it i hum the skaters waltz to myself...he apparently was coming thru Tenn. last weekend during the bad weather and had a scary ride.....

Thursday, November 14, 2002

i got to get my eyes checked, i glanced at an order for Cal-Davis and thought it was for the Dept of Pornology....what the hey what would they want with irrigation equipment, besides i thought that dept was at Cal-Berkeley ;>).......looked again it was the Dept of Pomology....ok what the hey is that.....jumped on line and the first hit on the search was their home page, see here, pomology is the science of fruit and nut production and distribution, well you learn something new everyday, but you would have thought that a nut case like me would have know that
slept right up to the alarm this morning, rarely do that.......woke up with a start....so fog is deep under the bridge.....even a little more that usual.....but fact is i'm not a morning person any who......

Wednesday, November 13, 2002

holst "the planets"..........mars is storming my ears as i write this.......it was one of those days, my other choice for days like today would be wagner.........but high pitched fat ladies.........nah stick with the holst..........and a diet Dr Thunder.........at this point in the day i love my computer........of course it's the one at home ........not one of the three i use at work......20 some odd years ago when i started in shipping the first thing i'd check out before hiring a worker was how strong his back was.......now the first thing is whether or not he has any computer skills.......times change.......when i was in HS we still used sliderules and what computers there were, were card readers......
i have a love/hate relationship with computers, a few weeks ago blew up the monitor on the manifest system, been getting by with a 13", got a 17" today but apparently in the process of changing the moniters ( remind me never to do that again mid run) one of the programs got confused and could not find the data for day end reports, which i had to re-enter ( pain.... agony....) then i started the day end on the other program and the printer had a spazz out, ejecting a continuous stream of gobble-d-gook.......sheeesh!!!!!....on the bright side the new monitor is a big improvement.........
Just saw tom for the first time since the wedding. Told him it was nice that I could finally talk to him man to man, that was provided he had actually managed to ..Well you know amid much laughter he called down a curse of crows on me..Its a running gag between uswe both live in areas of the city where the crows will sometimes roost for the night, 100s of them, and the racket can be quite disturbing

Tuesday, November 12, 2002

Beethoven 1&3 tonight and tea.......made tuna salad for supper....i've got a cat that as soon as the mac starts to boil is rubbing against my legs waiting for me to open the tuna.......she seems not to care about the possible mercury problem.......it's "give me the tuna and nobody will get hurt"......
this day is just getting better, had to tail a truck to the scale house to get a full weight, and locked my keys in the car, no keys in the pocket, car locked, there they are laughing at me from the ignition, earth to troll....earth to troll.............
wet, and turning colder this am, had a nice warm weekend, a little unusual for this time of year.......looks like it will be a busy morning....the clown car is parked outside.......i hate that when it happens.............i feel about as sharp as a wet noddle this morning..so it could be a long day....when i have days like this i look up and say "Lord why me?" and he replies "Because you're driving me nuts, you really are"

Monday, November 11, 2002

mozart and diet pepsi.........with a twist.......i thought it said for the twisted and that would be a good thing to have listening to mozart........it's stopped raining......works done......and mozart......things are looking up, came up with a couple of limericks about Monica and Bill C but i refrain from posting them here,i have no intention of making this a XXX blog.......
There once was a girl name of Ryder
who wasn't a very good hider
they saw her quite clear
and yes oh my dear
to the house of slams they may slide-her
in the words of the old rock ballad "rainy days and mondays always get me down"....amen....you preach it Sister Karen and i'll turn the pages....it's the double whammy today......a rainy monday.....

Sunday, November 10, 2002

LOL....someone is using "freewinona.com" and its a tacky commercial site selling among other things free winona tee shirts, some how there's a lesson in that but the fog is thick under the bridge this morning and right now it eludes me......Brahms 1 and coffee...

Saturday, November 9, 2002

good grief it must be a slow news day,Is Winona a serial shoplifter?, this message is done as a public service in this blog's ongoing effort to keep you informed, i mean there can't be a more important story.........boy CNN must be really off today i didn't get a breaking news alert on this one..........well any who........Shubert 5 and diet pepsi.........yah i know but how else am i to keep my boyish figure, actually i have the body of an 18 year old.......and if he ever finds out what i'm doing to it he'll kill me.......(yah i know old gag but then i ain't no spring chicken)
The leaves of fall lay on the ground
As I rake, Im reminded of my past
Like pages of a tattered book
They lie around me as the leaves

Some brightly colored
Some dingy and old

Some forgotten
Some remembered

Some remembered
That would be best forgotten

I rake them in piles
No order
The good with the bad
All in a pile

I bag them
For the trash

But in my haste
A few escape

But whether
To trouble
Or to cheer
Ah theres the question

Jobs done
For another year

Tchaik 5 is roaring out of the record machine ( yah i know it's a CD player, but it's hard to leave go sometimes of childhood memories), a cup of tea.....one benefit of the blog is to give me somewhere to put the droppings when the poetic muse comes over me as it does from time to time, too often in the past i've just written them down on scraps of paper and most have been lost, mislayed or destroyed(which in most cases probably wasn't a bad thing) now i have a place to save them ( now there is a scary thought)........ i have loved limericks ever since reading Ogden Nash at a very young age, although i do sometimes write in other forms/styles.........ah the second movement of the Tchaik.........what a horn line........
there once was a girl from down under
who made an incredible blunder
she put on her thong
but did it all wrong
and tore the poor thing asunder

there once was a girl from Madrid
who went out to purchase a lid
but when she was high
she hooked up with a guy
nine months later she now has a kid

i found these two bits of wit, written on a plank under the bridge this morning. of course as usual i may only be half right

But let's return to the girl from down under
Who made that incredible blunder?
Her rear now exposed
She sexily posed
And the applause it echoed like thunder

what a crazy day, everything seems to have happened this am, got it all taken care of and this pm is just plain dead.......zzzzzz......but it's friday and still an hour before dayend reports so it could turn nuts again.......has turned into a great day, if it holds tomorrow and they say it will, will have to get the sticks out of moth balls and play a little golf........if i can find a course still open........one of the wits around here mentioned the other day that when he entered politics Tom Dashle changed his name, according to him he added the d to the front and apparently dropped two letters another s and an o.........the funniest part is D is AofG......tell me how you really feel about the Dems. will you D.........
been on a dead run since my feet hit the plant floor this morning, only a couple hours in and i already feel like i've been drug thru a knothole backwards.......TGIF............on the bright side it's near 50*F this morning, as opposed to yesterday morning when it was 15*F......ah late fall in the Northcountry.........

checked my Email, and there was a breaking news alert from CNN, okay i say to myself who did the CIA fire a hellfire at this time, but no it was way more important that that "Winona found Guilty", sheeeeesh!!!! who really gives a billygoat's butt? i'm betting that even before you can say "Jack Robinson" there will be a Free Winona web page....but it begs the questions: why wasn't this settle quitely? and just how much did that circus cost the Califonia taxpayer?..........dang that billygoat i had for lunch must have been grazing in farmer Smith's pepper patch because i've been betching fire all afternoon.........
midterm elections and the party of the president gains ground......you could knock me down with a feather, ........tom just wandered thru, he's getting married this weekend, first time out in his mid 30's, have enjoyed busting on him about that, he's a good sport about it......looks like the weather may warmup a little this weekend......maybe we'll have a little indian summer.....

tea, Hummel followed by Barber, kind of a mismatched pair but it's been one of those days, spent the afternoon singing a series of rock hits of the 60's to myself at work ..........ah Barber's "Adagio for Strings" there will be a brief pause for reflection.............voted after work.........mostly out of habit, none of the races really seemed to instill any emotion at all in me....
Death,
by remote control, ain't technology wonderful......... i guess it redefines the term "due process"...........
been trying to chop wood this morning, swing the axe but no chips are flying, i've got things to do today and need all my wits but only half of them have shown up so far............it's going to be a long one.............

when younger i can remember hearing those who were older talking about "the Good Old Days", and silently to myself going "sure, yah okay, who would have wanted to live then rather then now (now being defined as 40 years ago +/-)
i caught myself the other day talking to a driver, and realizing that i was doing the same thing that i had thought a weakness and silly in my elders all those years ago, it's funny how things tend to go/come full circle, that being said there is something to be said about the good old days.
when i was in HS probably 85-90% of all the students in my school, came to school with a pocket knife in their pocket or purse, but never once did i see one used as a weapon, nor i doubt whether more then a very few even ever considered using it as such, not that there were not disputes then ended in a knockdown dragout, but there was an acceptable level of violence that was not overstepped, ah the good old days.......
weird, driver is in process of blowing a load of resin into one of the silos, first of all the product is made in Texas, shipped by rail to Canada, and then shipped back across the border to us in a dry bulk trailer, but he mentioned that they X-rayed his trailer when he came thru customs, well i guess i can half understand that, a dry bulk trailer does bare a strong resemblance to a bomb on wheels... i really have a hard time understanding man's hatred for man......

please forgive my typing/spelling but i got this new keyboard made by Freud and Sons and my fingers keep slipping off the keys.
there's about an inch of snow on the ground this morning, actually quite nice, i can't see the dirty brown ugly leaves anymore.......just checked my email, usual load of spam, but i guess that's what i get for posting to usenet...... 10% of the spam is golf related (post mostly to rec.sport.golf)......30% seems to be concerned with my financial well being, however i got the idea that their real concern is their own.......30% are worried about my size and potency, well not mine exactly, but you get the picture......the last 30% are trying to sell me pictures of young catholic school girls or some other form of that particular type of photo/movie......good grief. in fact i rarely open any of the spam, particularly that type but sometimes when the email subject is truly outrageous, i do. one of this mornings had the subject line of the week so i did, they were nice enough to include free samples........ have you ever noticed that the average age of the alleged teenage girls in that type of photo is at least 35.......oh well....coffee and Holst....

a little tea, the strains of "The Art of Fugue Vol.1" echo thru the room, the cats are all sleeping, the roses are all snug in their beds for a long winters nap, it's spitting a little snow, checked to make sure that the snowblower runs, i'm way too old a troll to shovel that white____ anymore. election day is right around the corner, it would be nice to actually have a choice, but all that's running is a bunch of billy/nanny goats, i look at the ballot and all i can think of is "LUNCH!!!!!!!!!". it would be nice to have at least some emotion either positive or negitive about it but i see them all between two slices of bread, and plain old white bread at that.
still no snow here, the lake effect went below us which is good news since i really need to put the roses to bed for the winter, hate to do it before the tricker/treaters descend, because i fear that my roses cones might be too easy of a target, woke up feeling sub-par oh well...but rather mellow this morning, i wonder if maybe it's because i don't have to work today, nah that couldn't be the reason

what a disappointing fall this has been. no color. we had a dry summer and never had a killing frost until mid Oct. the leaves are just turning a ugly brown and falling off, bummer. the snow seems to be going below us, the 'cuse is supposed to get 3 or 4 inches this PM, but we ain't seen more then a dusting, at least if we got some snow it would cover up the ugly leaves.
some snow on cars this morning driving to work, nothing in town but outside probably got some. aches and pains i get when the weather changes. the young troll who had this body thought it indestructible, the old troll who now lives in it knows he was wrong. i've often thought if i knew then what i know now, but then the sense of indestructibility usually goes hand in hand with being a bonehead so i probably won't have listened even to an older me.
