so i finally got out of work at 9:30, everything was ok but i had to wait to take a reading so i was sure it would all fit in the silo, i'm not being paranoid, it's just that not only is over filling a mess, it can also damage the equipment that measures the amount in the silo, we had one problem a few years ago, and i just don't what that to happen again........
i never really ate supper tonight, had a sandwich before i went back in and a burger when i got home......but i'm just too keyed up to eat....i really am frustrated with everything that went down...the fact that it ended up so close and then the driver had equipment problems....worst of all i got a heavy day tomorrow with 3 outbounds and i'm just too keyed up to even think about trying to sleep........rats.............
this has turned into a very messed up day, it's 7:30 at night and i'm posting this from my computer at work, i knew i had to come back in as a resin load was late, i was expecting it about 6 but it never showed to 7.....went home did some grocery shopping, some chores and decided to wait until after i got back for supper but had a sandwich about 6:45, got the call but have a potential problem.....i have about 51000 of space and 48000 on the load, usually runs right around 45000, if it had been 45000 i would have signed the paper and taken off, but as it is i need to unload about 3/4's of the load and take another reading to make sure it all fits, can't allow it to fill too full and can't take a reading while their unloading ........good thing i had the sandwich....i could be here awhile

Sunday, January 30, 2005

just a typical sunday except that since production was shut down this week end the day didn't start a 6 o'clock like it has the last 3 weeks, stopped off after church to give my daughter something, she has the flu but is feeling better
actually fussed with lunch, broiled a steak wrapped in bacon, green beans, a toss salad and a bit of potato salad left over from the takeout from friday.......
have just relaxed today and feel good, overcast day but mid 20's which is a relief from the big minus readings we've had lately.........

Saturday, January 29, 2005

boy that was a lot of fun, now i'll be the first to admit that i am not an expert in the domestic sciences, so i put a load in the washer earlier and of course promptly forgot about it, so a couple of hours later go down to transfer it to the dryer and the washer is off, i open the lid and there sits my clothes in half a tub of water, so i try to restart the spin cycle and the agitator growls at me, so i take the wet laundry out and the agitator does it's thing but the water ain't going nowhere......at which point i remember that while the washer doesn't sit on an outside wall it does sit on a wall that the cellar shares with the unheated garage.....and it has been way below zero lately ( ok so i did call my daughter for help but i thought about the discharge hose having ice in it.....well it's my story and i'm sticking to it)......where was i....oh yeah cold wall and ice.......so i managed to get the discharge hose off and the washer immediately gushed the water all over the floor....at which point i realized that the floor drain was also partially frozen.....but it is draining slowly......but it's in the low spot of the cellar so no harm no foul.......now i got to figure out how to get the ice out of the hose without damaging the flexible plastic hose.....i immediately discarded the idea of using a blow torch....and ended up giving the hose a hot bath........put about 6" of hot water in the bathtub and threw the hose in for 10 minutes..........and i said i wasn't a domestic god........

mean while the 3 little kittens, ok 3 old lady cats of mine are asleep, warm and comfortable on my bed...two on the fleece and one on a pair of my corduroy slacks....i really hate it when she does that because i have to spend time trying to get the dang cat hair off the slacks, but she that is aggie is sleeping so soundly i don't have the heart to move her

the day started out great eventhough i really didn't feel physically all that well this morning, the first thing i did after getting up was to turn my pager off. it's the first time it's been off since the 3rd of january, but production shut down at 6 AM this morning, so there is no there to call me in.....2 days with out the little rascal able to bug me......
was about 5*F this morning when i woke up and now in the mid 20's F......now that is still cold but is like 60 degrees warmer then the -40*F wind chills we've had the last couple of days, i mean i'm not about to start running around in shorts ( not that i ever do, but then i have very ugly legs) but i actually feels warm.......
spent an hour and a half in the plant this morning finishing up month end numbers and inventory.....
bought a pair of pants and then went in to a grocery store then i never buy my weekly groceries at but just get some specialty items at......a pound of pastrami, a bunch of vidalia salad onions and a tube of anchovy paste......i love anchovies but i'm just to lazy and hate the hassle of dealing with the canned type, the flavor of the paste is more intense and a whole lot less hassle.....
had a salad and ice tea for lunch....have a few chores i probably should do today but i think i'll put them off to tomorrow and just take it easy the rest of the day

Friday, January 28, 2005

it was my intention to go to bed early but as often happens i get involved with.......whatever......and loss track of time........a little blogshares ......a little poetry ( posted over on troll's poetry corner.....link is hiding out on the right somewhere......a little daydreaming and a little spider solitaire and here it is heading for 10:30.......nuts.........
twas another nasty cold day in old watertown today......-24*F with a wind chill of -40*F.....but fortunately i had very little to do at the warehouse today so stayed reasonably warm........it's "only" predicted to get to -15*F tonight and then "warn" up to +20's F tomorrow........it will probably feel warm enough to wear shorts (hehe).......
a very weird last day of the month, not much happening, although a whole lot of things got shoved into next week, production is not working this weekend but i need to go in for a while tomorrow to get final month end numbers into the system and finish month end inventory.....but i'll be off sunday......
couldn't decide what to have for dinner, thought about having one of the NY strips i had in the freezer but forgot to get it out to thaw this morning, stopped on the way home for salad fixings and freezer bags and got some eye round steaks, with the intent to have them for supper but as i drove by the take out seafood place i could hear a 1/2 pound of shrimp, a 1/2 pound of scallops and a pound of potato salad calling my name....i mean what was i to do........( the steak will keep until tomorrow.......
although i went to bed early last night i really didn't get a good nights sleep and awoke very sore and stiff.......and i'm still quite tired......the cold really takes it out of me......and i plan for an early night tonight...........if i can pry the cats off the fleece on my bed long enough to get in.......

Thursday, January 27, 2005

i'm wrapped in a fleece, a nice pot of hot tea by my side (earl grey if it matters) and i'm am truly warm and comfortable for the first time today, have just taking a hot bath and my skin has that itchy sensation of skin that has been cold too long and is just starting to accustom itself to being warm again.........i never was a big fan of the cold weather, never was into any outdoor winter sports, but as i get older i seem to have even less a tolerance for the cold then i did as a youth.......
it was a beautiful sunny winter day in old watertown today, not a cloud in the sky and mist was raising from the black river as a drove to work, that was the good news, the bad news was it was -30*F with a -40*F wind chill, and i spent the first 3 and a half hours on the forklift in the warehouse were the only heat is on the dock.........by the time i got back to the plant i think i had ice cubes between my toes (hehe)
and i could have been worse, i had another load scheduled for today but we couldn't find a truck for it.....it's headed for northern florida and know body wants it, can't blame them real, there just is no freight headed out of there this time of year........and they'd probably have to dead head a couple of hundred miles to find a load.........
did my banking and ran some errands, got another fleece throw, which i put on the bed and i now have two cats camped out on it..........got some take out fish for supper, by the time i got home it was almost 6:30 and was in know mood to cook.....
although i have finally warmed up, i am really tired from the day........didn't really "work" that hard but cold always effects me that way..........headed for a hot bath and an early night

Wednesday, January 26, 2005

as i'm writing this i'm sitting here wrapped in a fleece throw and i think it's the first time all day i've been really warm....and it might get to -15 or -20 tonight and stay cold most of the day.......
i slept good last night but awoke cold.....i must of klutzed when i turned the thermostat down last night, i usually set it between 60 and 62 for the night and got 55 instead........then immediately on awaking had to shovel snow, and as in and out all day......
frustrating day, it was one of those days that basically would have been an easy day but things outside of my control turned it in to a very difficult one, and the next two don't look any better, this week seems to be dragging...........
made pizza for supper and have vegged the rest of the evening.....and i'm off to bed soon.........

Tuesday, January 25, 2005

work went, well not bad, not good neutral day, production is not working the weekend this week, but i have a month end inventory to do so will probably work a few hours saturday morning but will have sunday off....
got groceries tonight and besides the few things i needed they had some nice fleece throws on sale and so i'm typing this wrapped in a polar fleece throw........warmth is a problem for me in the winter....as i get older i tolerate the cold less and less each year......i sometimes fell like i get cold in november and never warm up until april..........my cats have not discovered the fleece yet, but i suspect that i will eventually have to fight them for it........
rehearsal went great tonight, we've picked up a new keyboard player who also has a very good vocal style, she hears descant harmonies as well as just about anyone i've every sung with, it took a few songs for me to get the hang of the style but with very little modification on my part we mesh very well, once i get use to the harmony style i think i can slide in very tight to it and really produce a neat sound...........really had a great time.........i actually like rehearsals........the performance is always for me almost anti-climatic......
just had some pasta for dinner, with some sweet sausage.......and made too much so had a snack with some leftover clam sauce.......
i'm tired but still wound up from rehearsal so think i'll surf for awhile

Sunday, January 23, 2005

i have felt out of synch all day, not bad and not good, just like the rest of the world and my day were on different pages then i was........
we got about 6" of snow overnight so i started the day with a little snow shoveling, at 6:15 this morning.....got what i needed to do at work done.....but the rest of the day was just slightly off center.......never really felt like i had my "A" game........
could have kicked myself, had almost picked up a couple of cans of mushroom gravy yesterday and the best way to use up the leftover steak was over noodles with,,,,,that's right mushroom gravy......went out and got some and some egg noodles......while fixing supper realized i was out of milk....try explaining that to a cat........well that's just the way the day went.......no major problems just a bunch of irritating little ones........actually i handle major problems much better the the nagging little ones........i am tired and i'm gone.........

Saturday, January 22, 2005

well as i suspected i did get called in to work, but at least they waited until after 8 and i was already up, made 5 runs back and forth and have them set on supplies until i can get a transfer run monday, problem is i can shuttle finished goods in the pickup, so it will probably be most of the week trying to get caught up getting pallets to the warehouse, only took a couple of hours but got help from T.
went shopping got a nice deal on some namebrand slacks on close out at tj max......and final found a salt mill that i like......i like using sea salt in cooking but it's a pain without a salt mill and just couldn't find one i liked....and won't buy one until i did......that's now settled......
wasn't hungry at lunch and just had a cup of soup........dinner was steak, broiled after rubbing salt, pepper and whole grain mustard into it, buttered potatoes, a nice salad and coffee, found some coffee made with pure arabica beans, very nice.....
despite getting a decent nights sleep still haven't recovered from yesterday, and need to be into work by 7 or even a little earlier to get the day to work out right.......so should try to make it an early night......as usual i probably won't succeed but i should at least try

Friday, January 21, 2005

it was another bitter cold day today, although according to the forecast it will stay cold through the weekend and then warm up first part of next week, that is if you think mid 20'sF are warm, but compared to -15*F with a wind chill in the -35*F range, i guess mid 20's is a warm.....
today turned into a very frustrating day........first of all the outbound that was supposed to be waiting for me to load at 8AM, finally arrived at 5:45 PM.......i guess he had some mechanical problems but i think he got lost as well.......with out going into detail i never got it loaded until about 7:30, and then by the time i got the confirms done i left work at 8PM........i hate 12 hour days.....particularly when it's this cold and i spent a large part of the day in the semi-heated warehouse......on top of which the transfer didn't run either yesterday or today.....and so i probably will have to spend sometime either tomorrow or sunday ferrying some supplies from the warehouse in the pickup......i'm pretty well stocked but i know there are a few things i will need to keep production running......and i was supposed to have tomorrow off......rats
well by the time i got home i was both bone cold and very hungry......but decided the cold came first so brewed some coffee and took a long, hot bath.........by the time i got to think about food it was past 8:30, i had planned to broil a steak tonight and fuss with dinner, i rarely do that as dinner tends to be a quick fix meal but with the lateness of the hour decided to opt for a quick pizza instead......i'll have the steak for dinner tomorrow........
i'm tired but i think i'll surf for awhile and play a little blogshares.......too wound up to even attempt sleep......

Thursday, January 20, 2005

it's late, i'm tired but for some yet unexplained reason i'm still up, playing a little blogshares, petting one of my cats, i need rest and my body is ready for that but my mind isn't yet.......but to bed i must.........
work went very well today for a change, wasn't to busy, low stress day.....i needed one.......have only one outbound tomorrow that i know of so shouldn't be too crazy but you never know on fridays.....
got the money in today's check for unused sick time from last year which came in handy because i got the county tax bill earlier in the week, it pretty well covered it so i didn't have to make any budget re-arranging......picked up a few can good at big lot and stopped for a burger at BK.......have just hung out tonight......
did come down with a bit of a cold overnight...a few sniffles, and a slightly sore throat but not back considering the prelude to it..........

Wednesday, January 19, 2005

very strange, had a good nights sleep and felt pretty good this morning, wasn't near as cold as yesterday and didn't spend as much time this morning as yesterday in the semi-heated warehouse , but the cold just went through me today......got just bone cold, felt lousy......so took the afternoon off......i can't figure out why it affected me that bad today unless i'm coming done with a cold or something......
stopped on the way home and got some fixings for a pot of soup......a little beef, some kale and some canned peeled tomatoes, oh and some garlic........trollie can't cook without garlic.....some cabbage and onions which i had on hand......and a few egg noodles to finish it......came out great....
have never cooked with kale before, i'm not sure i've ever had kale before but it's not bad, and i will use it again........only thing is i rough chopped it this time and it holds it's crunch pretty good, i think i'll use a bit finer chop the next time.......
well anyhow had a quick lunch of eggs and bacon.......a nice long hot bath.......and the soup for supper and i feel warm now at least but tired........

Tuesday, January 18, 2005

today was one of those days when i felt like i was being drawn and quartered.....i was being pulled in several directions at once, had things that had to be done like all at the same time and i multi-task very poorly.......vendor problems, material problems, inventory problems, and a bunch of tasks at the warehouse all of them on any other day could have qualified as top priority......got everything done but didn't finish the last email/memo that needed writing until after 3:30.....
didn't need much but went grocery shopping anyways and bought some sale items that i could freeze for later use.........
rehearsal went really well tonight, have picked up another keyboard player that we really needed...have a fine player but because of his schedule he can't always be there and really needed a backup.......a bit different style but a fine player.......
i'm tired and i'm think i'll call it an early night...........

Monday, January 17, 2005

a reasonably sane day at work except i think i made 7 trips to the warehouse, i feel like i spent the whole day in the car, my office is in the factory but i am responsible for the satellite warehouse which is about a mile from the plant......And it seemed that virtually everything i did to day involved checking something at the warehouse.....but not a bad day because i got to listen to classic fm most of the day on the car radio.......
had a steak and some fries for supper and a relaxing evening.......weather forecast is for maybe as low as 35 below zero tonight......will make working in the warehouse tomorrow interesting.........

Sunday, January 16, 2005

i actually got a decent night's sleep last night, a bit short as in order to have everything happened that needed to happen i got up at six but i feel fine, work was a bit of a bother, took a tad longer then i would have liked, ran into a minor problem with the inventory dump from saturday but got it figured out....
had a nice lunch, or should i say brunch with the daughter, went out to a place just outside of town that does a great sunday brunch, lots of neat seafood as well as a tradition breakfast and all the trimmings........had a nice chat.....have relaxed the rest of the day and i needs back at it tomorrow.........

Saturday, January 15, 2005

the whole point of me not going into work today was to get a good nights sleep, so naturally i got the worst nights sleep i've had in months, not only did i wake up half a dozen times but my sleep was plagued by some of the weirdest dreams i've ever had.......not weird as in nightmares.......rather weird as in me acting totally out of character and in ways i would never respond.........can remember any specifics, never can......just impressions and they're all weird......
just kicked around today....did a bit of housework but basically relaxed......stress level is down but i'm still bone tired.......but need to be at work by 7 in order to make the day work......planning on having lunch with daughter so that should be fun.......

i'm like the proverbial creature that stalks the night, i stalk the night, i'm exhausted but my mind is racing, i just can't shutdown, went to bed early, took for ever to fall asleep and then woke up with a start after maybe 3 hours and now can't get back to sleep. i need the rest but.......this happens to me from time to time but this is the first for quite awhile......rats

Friday, January 14, 2005

talk about a change in weather, yesterday it was 55*F, admittedly a very unusual january day, but i woke up this morning and we had gotten 3 or 4 inches of wet snow overnight and it's now in the mid teens temperature wise.......
today was a classic ending to a bad week, first of all because of the huge swing in temperature there was condensation problem in the warehouse, all of the wrapped pallets were wet on the outer wrap, had nothing but one problem after another, and by 3 o'clock was totally wasted, stayed a little late to finish up somethings that really needed to be done and am not going in tomorrow, i've been in for at least an hour for 12 days in a row and i need a day that i don't have to set the alarm, i'm tired and stressed and need a break........
despite feeling pretty well beat, i came home, took a shower and went out for chinese food, haven't eaten out in a couple of weeks, and just needed a break, had a message from the daughter on the machine and i guess like we will do lunch as they say on sunday........
i'm just going to kick back tonight and see if i can lose the weeks stress.......

Thursday, January 13, 2005

very weird day weatherwise today for watertown in january, it was mid-50'sF.........dang that's got to be at least 40* above the average, and probably 90* above the record low for the day, january is usually our month for extreme low temperatures and i mean in the 30's and 40's below zero..........was also very windy today.......just a very weird winter day here in old watertown
i really thought i posted last night but it wasn't showing earlier......(trollie scratches head)
today was a bad day, had to containers the first went all good and second went all bad, what a riot.......it had a really uneven floor and every run in and out was a jarring attack to the old spine......my back feels like somebody tied it in a knot..........

Tuesday, January 11, 2005

i went to bed last night, and had just fallen asleep when i was awakened by an awful sound from the front room, i thought the cats were killing each other, went out and discovered that one of the neighborhood cats was sitting on the front window sill, and having a very noisy "discussion" with my 3 inside, so i chased him off, only to get back into bed and have a repeat of the above, the second time he stayed away........
work was wild this morning, it was almost one o'clock before i got a chance to figure out what i needed to get done, everything before that was thrust upon me.......and really didn't get half done what i needed to......well tomorrow is another day......
did groceries on the way home......spent a bunch but needed to buy some stock type things, plus picked up a few extra can goods, always a good thing to have here in the winter as we do get "snowed in" from time to time.....
rehearsal went great tonight, we are braking in a bunch of new people and some really talented ones......bright hope for the future.......

Monday, January 10, 2005

if i had not taken the time to get a jump on today by staying over saturday i would have been in deep do-do today, very busy day and tomorrow promises to be a monster, i have as many as 4 outbounds, one inbound, the transfer, and everything else that can crop up so should be wild......
feel pretty good today except that my arthritis is flaring abit.....weather has been just too changeable and it hard to get it adjusted.....
had a nice talk with my uncle, he's in his mid 80's and not in very good shape physically but still sounds very sharp mentally......

Sunday, January 9, 2005

i think that rather by accident i have discovered my favorite sandwich. i had a couple slices of deli beef left, also some genoa salami, and some thin sliced deli pastrami, now if i eat pastrami alone i always eat it hot, but decided to throw the three together cold, on a nice roll with mayo, italian dressing and a few crushed hot peppers........and a glass of ice tea..........maybe not a meal fit for a king but one that certainly hit the spot for the old trollie......and aggie the mooch.....
who ever thought that sunday was a day of rest certainly forgot to include me, i need to be at church by a little after eight for a quick run through before first service, but also had to spend about an hour at work this morning, so the only way that was going to work was to roll out of bed about 6, which is about an hour early. my cats were not pleased......
everything ran pretty smooth and i was home by 11:30, but we had got a few inches of snow last night, not so much that i couldn't drive through it but enough that indeed to shovel the walk, then there was a sink full of dishes, and before i had lunch done and eaten ( a boneless rib eye and some pierogies) it was one o'clock.......
now i know for a fact that the 3 fur balls that share my abode with me are cats, but 2 of them really hounded me during lunch, it seems little the smell of the rib eye was too much for them, so being a soft touch, and also out of concern for my well being a shared a little....
relaxing afternoon, evening service went fine and now i must needs think about a little supper.......

Saturday, January 8, 2005

(mental note to self: self, if you intend to go to work and just put numbers in, do not, i repeat do not check your intra-plant email!!!!)

well i went to work, figuring to spend about an hour, and three hours later i was done, rats, but on the other hand i got somethings done that i would have had to complete first thing monday morning so it did take some of the heat off monday morning, and normal monday mornings are hectic.........

( just a random thought, why do people driving these out size SUV's find it necessary to pull up right on the back bumper of my small size sedan, so all i can see in my rearview mirror are the bugs on their grill?????)

so i stopped on the way home, wanted to stop at TJ Max, and see if they had gotten anymore sea salt in. i had gotten a jar several weeks ago, one (an obvious mistake) because i wasn't sure of quality....and then they were out, got to jars today to stock up, really prefer the sea salt to regular table salt....

ran into one of the ladies who sing alto with the choral group i sing with, just a general chit-chat and thoughts on the retiring director......

got some pastrami for lunch, and some crusty rolls to place said pastrami in, i don't know about you but i can't eat pastrami cold, i pan fried a bunch in good olive oil, a large potion of whole grain mustard on the rolls and pure delight........

(a final note to self: who ever did the spell checker is really in bad shape, because it didn't include the word pastrami....i feel sorry for anyone who doesn't know, or has never experienced the joy of pastrami)

Friday, January 7, 2005

awful day at work, nothing went right, just really rotten day......so........
i stopped at a convenient on the way home , made an almost 6 dollar purchase, handed the clerk a ten and she asked me if i had a smaller bill (notice bill singular)......i mean i knew what she was asking, she was hoping on a 6 ones or a five and a one so she didn't get rid of her singles....but if i had given her a small bill (again singular) she would have asked for more money........yah i know a nit pick but............
salad for supper and i think early to bed, i just dog tired

Thursday, January 6, 2005

what a day, i got to work and within 15 minutes had two inbounds and an outbound waiting for me, i thought i had it planned so that there won't be a back log but two showed up early.....and the one inbound is the trickiest load to unload that we receive, only ten pallets but they are 7 and a half feet long, 3 and a half wide, and almost 6' high........and you have to be real careful with them, plus i have to use fork extenders which make it great fun, because regardless of what you do, you will sometimes hang one of the extenders under the pallet, which are a real job to unhang.........with some house keeping never got back to the factory until 12, but everything actually ran smooth.....
the afternoon on the other hand was a mess.......
but got everything done so wasn't too bad.....
cashed my check, ran some errands and i'm in for the night.......

Wednesday, January 5, 2005

was one of those days when i really wasn't on the top of my game so to speak, fortunately everything went pretty well anyways, ran out of gas and crashed out late in the day but am feeling better now, eventhough i had to go back into work for a late delivery......
had some pasta and garlic bread for supper and now am just relaxing......playing a little blogshares......but plan to make it an early night.....

Tuesday, January 4, 2005

today has been weird, it seems as if i've been moving in slow motion all day, either that or the world has been moving at warp around me.....work went ok.....
stopped on the way home to do grocery shopping, didn't really need much, but there was this ny strip steak that insisted that i take it home and broil i immediately......i usually just grab something quick on tuesday night as i need to be to rehearsal at 7 and it gives me time to check email, blogshares and such, well by the time i got home, changed the kitty litter, decided to make a small tuna salad to go with the steak, broiled the steak and ate dinner, i kind of lost track of the time, and looked at the clock and it was 12 of 7 and i hadn't changed out of my work clothes yet....got to practice how be it a bit late.......went okay and now i'm just trying to unwind........

Monday, January 3, 2005

i real think i'm losing it, at washed out my container that i put the stew in to take for lunch at work and put it in my lunch box, got to work and found out i had never put the stew in it......oy vey......now we have sandwich machines so i was able to buy one for lunch, but dang............
other then that work went well today, no big headaches.......have just done some laundry tonight, and a sink full of dishes from the weekend and kicked back and relaxed, think i'll go to bed early tonight......lilly the cat was very restless last night which means i didn't get much sleep....i guess she was just lonely........

Sunday, January 2, 2005

a quiet day, went to early service, and had a combined class to teach, one of the other sunday school teachers was gone for the day so had both classes.....went well....stayed into second service until worship team was through, and then came home..........we had had freezing rain between the time i had gone and the time i returned and man it was slippery, tapped the brakes as i entered the traffic circle and did an 90* slide and almost took out one of the stone pillars that mark the entrance..........sheeeeeeeeshhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!.......that would have been fun.......
have just had a relaxing day.........need to think about heading for bed.........

Saturday, January 1, 2005

had a nice evening, dinner was good and played cards afterwards, i know uncles are not supposed to play favorites but nate is my favorite nephew........had a nice chat .....
am tired and really should think about getting ready for bed, need to go to early service tomorrow which means i have to be out of the house by a little after 8 but am mentally a little "keyed up" tonight.......body tired and mind racing..........
i accidentally stayed up until midnight last night, it was not on purpose, not to wish in and greet the new year, it just happened, and probably a good thing, as i rarely read the local paper, i was unaware that they were having a big fireworks deal at midnight, a fact which my cats highly dislike, and i'm sure they would have found a way to wake me for comfort if i had been asleep......when my daughter was quite young....3 or 4 years old she got things a little crossed up and used to refer to fireworks....as firemenworks.....
awoke just before nine and just took it easy this morning, needed to get batteries and had a gift card to borders so went to the mall and big lots.......had a spinach stromboli for lunch in one of the shops and got a couple of books........( a brief pause while trollie answers phone)..........."The Soul of Rumi" and "Kabbalah 365"....the last is kind of neat......there is a brief reading each day from the kabbalah.......and the ecstatic poems of rumi have interested me for a while and i just happened to see the collection and why not
call was from nephew Nate, it seems that i have an invite for dinner at my sister's........really had nothing planned and as i couldn't decide what to have for dinner.........why not

(obviously spell check blew a fuse on stromboli, kabbalah, and rumi......but how the heck it suggested "gabble" for "kabbalah".......all i can is oy vey........can't wait to see what it does with yiddish)
