*[Now Playing on MadTrollie*[Friedrich II]*]*
The music I'm listening to as I write this posting is by the composer Friedrich II "The Great Flute Concertos"..he wasn't one of the more famous composers at least for his compositions..and by what I've read was a very competent flutist..I ran across the name several years ago when reading a biography of J S Bach..but I was already aware of him under his other name..Frederick the Great of Prussia [link]..the ruler of Prussia and a noted military leader in Europe in the 18th century..but what has intriguing is that he apparently had a "well rounded" education..a renaissance man..not just a expert in one area but well learned in many fields..sometimes unrelated fields..we live in the age of the expert..which is both a good and a bad thing..I know people who were expert in their field and were lost outside it..one of my dad's favorite adages was "An expert knows more and more about less and less until he knows absolutely every thing about nothing"..what is needed is not experts..but well-round people with common sense..but you know what the problem is with common sense..It isn't common..[and thus endeth today's rant]..[the MadTrollie can be seen stepping down from his soap box]....
The weather wasn't near as bad as was predicted and had cleared out by 13:00..so off to Aldi..bananas..some pencil thin asparagus..a quart of liquid egg whites..2 bottles of fruit flavored sparkling water and a nice chat with one of the "kids" that work there that I haven't seen in awhile..and about 15:00 a quick trip to Dollar General..2 cherry pocket pies..2 packages of my fave cookies..a package of small paper plates & a 6-pack of 7.5 oz cans of Dr Pepper..and then back to my rooms to prepare to make this post..
Again this morning over slept a little and have been running behind my normal routine but have managed to get caught back up and only the end of day details to finish..one of those is done now..nite all....
