[Now Playing: "Gaudy Night" episode one [link]]
I had walked yesterday to Aldi and picked up as I am prone to do what I need for 2 to 3 days....however I had failed to look not only at the extend forecast or figured out how many days at one per day my supply of bananas would last....I have a banana every morning....not a big fan of their taste which I find quite bland....or their texture which is a bit soft IMNSHO....but am a big fan of the nutritional value....potassium....which they are a great source of....I'm prone to leg cramps as a former soccer player/distance runner....and bananas and dried fruit of which I'm very fond....while not preventing the aforementioned "Charley Horses".....they do make them less frequent and  not as severe....so this morning looked at tomorrow, counted my bananas....and realized I must walk today....which I hadn't planned to do....so since I was headed in the that direction....walked past Aldi and took a short cut to Big Lots....just to look but as/usual found a few things I didn't know I needed until I heard them calling to me from the selves....and then to Aldi....didn't bother with a cart....walked in....grabbed a hand of 4 bananas....checked out and was gone.....the weather was so nice this evening so took a walk to Ollie's and Dollar General....
In the process of defrosting one of my three small refrigerators I lost track of my ice pick....and looked every way I could thing of and found it not....so this afternoon I got to thinking the refrigerator in question is about waist high....I'll bet it could have fallen behind the frig & was correct....and there it was in a tight spot that this gimpy, grumpy old codger had no chance of reaching....but after about ten minutes of hit & pushing it around with one of my canes I finally managed to get it to a place where I could retrieve it....

[+43*F...."feels like" +39*F....rain...winds from the east @ 7 mph....rain continuing util early morning tomorrow]
[Now Playing: Handel "The Choruses from the Messiah"[link]]
Playing in the background tonight is a mix of just the choruses from the Messiah....now I've never sung the complete Messiah....but I have sung what is called the "Christmas Messiah" and other times have sung many of the others which aren't included in the Christmas section....basically part I with a few from part II added....and one of those added is the Hallelujah Chorus" at the end....if you'd read my blog before you know that there is a special place in my heart for the choral music of the Baroque period....and also the liturgical music of the period....although my ability to sing it is gone due to age and essential tremors I still get great enjoyment out  of listening....
Being Monday it's the day for housekeeping to come in and clean my  rooms and change the linens....and normally I hang around an chat with the head housekeeper who is good people....but although the weather was going to be warm if I took my walk later....rain was also possible so walk when it was sunny how be it with "feels like" temperature in the mid 30's F....so I walked right at 09:00 which is when Aldi opens....and gave housekeeping a chance to clean without me under foot....so to speak....needed need much....save for my ongoing quest for the elusive banana....I have one every morning with my first meal....but have recently added yogurt to that meal....I normally can get a small cup from the breakfast spread here....but I don't always like the flavors....so got a few containers of that....but while wandering the aisles saw and bought something I've never seen before....now growing up rural I thought that I'd had almost every kind of jerky....beef, fish, goose,duck,venison....but had never seen pork jerky....so bought a package....interesting....I've been a little concerned with my focus on root veg that maybe I haven't been getting enough of my protein from meat....so have bought some sausages and jerky for snacking ....have a container on my computer table and have now added the pork jerky to the container....I am well aware that there is now turkey jerky....but 1] I'm not that fond of turkey to begin with....&....2] it sounds like a weird dance....let's do the "turkey jerky".....I think I'll pass....

[Now Playing: Mozart "Choral Works" [link]]
I awoke this morning to light snow and a win-chill below 32*F.....which soon changed to rain as the temperature started to climb....by afternoon temperatures were in the mid-40's....sunny....and just a hint of a breeze....but  it's my kind of weather....if I could find a climate were it was between mid-40's and mid-60's 24/7/365 I'd move there in a heart beat....truth be told I handle the cold weather much better than the heat....I've spent basically my  whole life in the Northeastern USA....primarily in western NY and the Northcountry of NY....the one in the lee of Lake Erie and the other in the lee of lake Ontario....but are in "lake effect snow" areas....and even during college I lived in the northeast so winter is the common extreme....not heat and high humidity.....
But seeing the weather this afternoon....I decided that I really didn't have a reason to walk....but walked anyways....first to Ollie's and then to Dollar General....and then this evening a short walk over to a small pond just maybe 50 yards from the backdoor.....daddy goose was standing watch and mom was sitting almost entirely concealed in the reeds....I expect before long to see a brood of fluff balls running around under the watchful eye of mom and dad....

[+47*F...."feels like"....light rain....winds from the s/w @ 18 mph]
[Now Playing:"Baroque Study Music [link]]
I've always had a great love of the music of the Baroque period....I took piano lessons from when I was 6 or 7 until I was 12....and although "dumbed down" for a beginning we took from a teacher who taught the classical method....and played quite a bit of Bach et al....with that background and gifted with a very strong high tenor voice I think that that background as a child lead to my love of the choral/liturgical music of the day....Handel, Haydn, and others....and although age and essential tremors has taken my singing voice....I still enjoy listening to music of t hat period....this particular grouping of pieces is all orchestral....not choral....but that will probably appear at some point in "Now Playing"....
It's rain on and off most of the day....although I did sit out for a time this evening in a period of calmer weather....and it's predicted to rain through tomorrow evening....with a chance of a brief period of snow....but probably won't have walk today anyways....as probably because of the damp weather my knees and feet are giving me a tad of trouble....but warmer weather is coming and that should put they brief rebellion to an end....they always give me a hard time during the seasonal transitions between Autumn/Winter and again between Winter/Spring....but with the weight loss and healthy diet nowhere near the problems I've had in past years....
But another quiet day spent in my rooms and online....as/usual nothing on the "Old Boob Tube" worth my time....

[+53*....fair....winds out of the e/n/e @ 3 mph....rain later tonight thru Saturday....w/snow possible]
[Now Playing: Classical Music Radio [link]]
Despite the forecast for rain over the next two days....even the possibility of snow Saturday morning....I had no reason to walk until Sunday at the  earliest....and I chose to invent some reasons and  and walked twice anyways....first this morning over to big lots....didn't need a thing but managed to find some chips, beef jerky and a couple of bottles of classic soft drinks that I didn't realize until I saw them that I needed them....and then this afternoon decided to take a walk to the convenience store out by I'81....I've used smokeless tobacco for over 40 years and they carry my brand and I can buy it in a 5 pack....didn't really need it....could  have waited....but wanted to walk....plus I set out for awhile on an available bench this evening....
I've complained before about the every decreasing amount of TV shows that I would even consider watching....for the last few years I've watch "Game of Thrones"....but after last season I became very disappoint by  it and have not watched any of the episodes this season....just to convoluted....I checked last night for today's listing....and USA network was showing...."NCIS" but when I turned on to watch....there were showing a "marathon" of post-Ziva shows highlighting Ellie....there only a couple of those episodes I'd watch more than once....and I already have....rats....
Have on the whole spent another quiet day online....still messing with the layout of "Trollie's Game Room".....but I think I done....well at least for a while....

[Now Playing: today's "My Mix" off Youtube[link]]
What a difference 24 hours can make in the weather in the Old Northcountry of NYS this time of the year....when I walked yesterday afternoon it was a sunny day....temperature around 70*F....and just a light breeze....when I  walked this morning started about 08:30....temperature was 40*F with winds from the w/s/w/ @ 15 mph and the "feels like" was 32*F....but rain forecast from Friday through Sunday....and there were things I needed before Monday....could have walk either today or tomorrow but it's not in my nature to put things off....with the way that the weather can change up here in a "heart beat".....besides....I just wanted to get it out of the way....
So after my walk....both to Price Chopper....with the exception of a small jar of Chinese hot mustard....it was all assorted veg....and then off to Aldi....and more veg....and some fruit flavored sparkling water....so I'm well stocked through Monday and probably a few days past that....
And as/usual have spent the rest of the day online....

It had been my firm intent to spend the day in my rooms....didn't have a reason  to walk....until later in the week....but when I looked at the temperature this afternoon and it was high 60's to lower 70's....I discovered a great need to walk....and decided that I really should check out Ollie's....after all it had been a couple of days and they might have gotten in something new that I needed....but wouldn't know I needed it unless I went and looked for it....well that's my story anyways and I'm sticking to it....and since on the way back to my rooms....had to pass by Dollar General and heard a small cup of ice cream calling my name....and I didn't want to disappoint it....
The forecast is that the rain will continue until early tomorrow morning and the weather cooling into the mid-40's....but you  never know that some unavoidable situation will arise which demands my attention and I must walk to resolve it....and if it doesn't....I'll just have to create one....

It's been a pleasant day....was mid-50's and cloudy this morning and forecast to be sunny and in the lower 60's....was going to wait until this afternoon when the weather was warmer....but....I hate waiting to do something I can do now....Monday being the day that housekeeping comes in....would have walked then so I wasn't under foot....but I  had a timed move and didn't have enough time to go both to Big Lots....and Aldi and get back in time....walked around 10:30....to Big Lots first....I was wandering the food aisles and in a section with imported food found a Japanese import a bag of "Shrimp Crackers".....to intriguing not to buy a package....not what I would call a cracker....more like a cheese puff....and tastes like dried shrimp....a bit funky maybe....but not bad at all....also got a jar of dried chives....then off to Aldi....just fresh veg....a container of liquid egg white....so sparkling water....and some cheese and off to my rooms....
Spent the majority of the day online as/usual....but it was so nice out that I made an excuse to walk....decided I needed a few things at Dollar General....but really it was just to give me a destination for the walk....a package of pens...a cup of ice cream & some beef jerky....rain is predicted for Tuesday PM through Wednesday AM so probably will stay in at least until Wednesday PM....that is unless I have a an urge to wander....

Just got back from my sister and her hubby's belated birthday dinner....both have birthdays in April but they were still in Florida at the time....they moved there last fall, but still have to sell  their house up here....those two....me....a daughter....2 grand kids....a friend of one of the grand kids...and and a baby....I'm a bit farmisht over what's going on there but sis said she'd message me....a nice meal at a place in one of the upscale hotels in the area....
Walked this morning....first to Price Chopper....more root veg....then to Aldi....oops....closed for Easter....but is right across from the ATM and I had planned to stop so had to walk down that way anyways....and will just go to Aldi tomorrow and probably Big Lots as well....
Modding a group on Facebook is an interesting experience....peeps who want to join our group need to request membership, and we "vet" them before we agree....but I caught one today that was a real beaut....name: Tiger Tanaka....first I thought an old pro-wrestler....no....dang....the name of a character in the older Bond flick "You only live Twice"....then I look at his photo....Carroll O'Conner in his role as Archie Bunker....oy vey....someone who goes to that extend to hide their true identity is probably up to no good....worthy of not just a decline....but a block to prevent him/her/whatever from tying again....

The thunder storms that were predicted for this afternoon never materialized....but there is some rain in the forecast for around dusk this evening....and the next few days are predicted to be fair....but sitting about 20 miles as the crow flies [ or this time of year as the seagull[s] flies [aka: flying rats]] from Lake Ontario to the west of us....the weather can change abruptly....and often does
Decided to take a quick walk down to the plaza which is practically just out the back door and down a short hill....I always have quart size zipper storage bags on hand for storing food items after I open them....but there are times I need a large size and knew I could get the gallon size at Ollie's at a discounted price....but always check the food aisles and found a bottle of sun-dried tomatoes....now I've eaten them before but never cooked with them....these looked good and again at a decent price so bought a jar....used them in my rustic frittata and enjoyed them a lot....will have to see if they still have them in stock the next time I go to Ollie's and "stock up"....the thing about Ollie's as a discount outlet....you better buy it went you see it or the next time it might be gone forever....
Speaking of meals....lately my first meal has evolved into the following.....a banana not my favorite fruit by taste or texture....but from a mineral content I need the potassium....as a former distance runner/ soccer player [sorry but that's what we call football in the USA]....I am prone to leg cramps....aka "Charley Horses"....and potassium helps....ergo....a banana a day....a granola bar/fruit & grain bar....and a toffee coffee....but have been having a minor but annoying lower digestive problem....so have added a small cup of yogurt to the menu and early results have been promising....
[17:30 UTC-4]
I got to thinking about the sun dried tomatoes and my next trip to Ollie's and decided that as it is less than a 5 minute walk that my next trip to Ollie's was right then....the last 3 jars on the shelf are now safely in my pantry....

And as/usual there is very little to watch on TV....truth be told if I had to pay for cable or dish TV....I probably would have it....but it's included in my monthly rent as is a landline and WiFi....and house keeping once a week....done the math....and it's the best and most economical way for me to leave....on top of which....I'm within a 10 minute walk of everything I need....including my doctor....I live on the edge of a retail area....in the residential wing of a hotel....plus the fact that I don't drive anymore....my night-vision is poor at best....and with the essential tremors which become bad under stress....I have no business driving a car...did I  mention I'm also hard of hearing....left ear has only about 10% and the right about 50% of normal.....

Finally....today marks the first month of Spring....and  we finally got a true Spring day....mid-50's....sunny day....with just a hint of a breeze....and even with rain predicted for the next 4 days....the rain is predicted to be intermittent....and really didn't need anything til Monday when it's only PM showers....but didn't want to waste the beautiful day....so decided to walk up to Dollar Tree and T J Maxx....which I skipped yesterday when I changed my walk mid-stream....
When I was a kid we had want were call Five and Dime stores....and much of what was sold actually cost a nickel or a dime....of course I was born in 1947 so that was a quite awhile ago....but the dollar stores common today are in reality just the old five and dimes but more expensive....now most of them do sell things over a dollar...but in "Dollar Tree" everything is a dollar....except a few items that are .89 cents....I didn't go looking for anything in particular.... but ended up with a pair of mixing bowls....a tape measure...a tube of topical analgesic...and a small bottle of Heinz 57 sauce....for $4.24....[8% sales Tax on non food items]....and off to T J Maxx....almost bought another mortar and pestle....a tad smaller than the one I recently bought....In point of fact if they would have had both went I bought the first one I would have bought the smaller one....but my frugal side took over and I decided I really didn't need two....but did pickup a bottle of chili oil....e.v.o.o....have already used it....very nice....

When I check the TV offerings for the day....I was quite happy....the USA schedule called for "NCIS" from 09:00 thru 20:00 & BBC American starting at 17:00 had "For Your Eyes Only" & "From Russia with Love"....happy,happy,joy,joy....but there was a mistake in the USA listings and what I got was "Chicago PD"....a rather disappointing attempt to make a gritty police drama in the style of "Hill Street Blues"....rats....
But that disappointment aside....it was a very quiet day....with rain in the forecast had decided yesterday not to walk....besides tomorrows weather is for decent weather....need to go to Price Chopper to pickup my meds....and restock my frig and pantry with root veggies....almost out of both....so except for my Monday scheduled visit from housekeeping it's been a quite day....did hear from my sis....although they have moved officially to Florida they still need to sell their house up here....and are talking about getting an apartment up here....????....they still have kids/grand kids up here, as well a my bro and I....Sunday Easter dinner was arranged....

But as I said I did walk this AM just after 09:30....the wind hadn't picked up yet and it was quite pleasant....because of my occasional balance issues....strong winds can present a problem or two for me....I have a problem with dry skin....especially on both feet....have all kinds of problems with my feet and ankles from old sports, work related injuries....and a few klutz moves throw in.....but of all the problems it's the dry skin that drives me nuts....bought a Vaseline product....have always had good results with their products so I am guardedly optimistic....got it at Ollie's at a very nice price....and then a stop at Dollar General....it the hot weather I usually have a couple of bottle of Powerade and wanted to try the new Powerade Zero....I usually get Powerade rather than Gatorade....not based on taste or quality....but the simple fact of the difference in price....and I come from a long line of frugal people....

Although I could have waited to walk even until next week....the weather today beckoned me....so made an excuse to walk....it rained this evening, but has cleared off....tomorrow is going to  be a windy day with winds in the 20 mile an hour range....and because of my occasional balance issues I usually try to avoid high wind conditions....and rain both on Sunday and Monday....and really didn't need to walk until Tuesday....but still today was to nice of a day in the morning and early after noon to not walk....
Have spent the day as I usually do....but when I past the front desk on the way out...."Matt the Manager" said to make sure I saw him on the way back in....won't tell me what....now a few weeks ago I mentioned to him that I missed them having boiled eggs on the morning breakfast spread....and was told that because they bought them pre-boiled and shelled....and had to buy by the case....they did go that quickly and some would spoil....so as I came back in....he went out back and handed me a tube of 12 pre-boiled....2 have already been sacrificed for a nice bit of egg & olive spread....and I'm sure that in short order others will met there end as part of a potato or tuna salad....
But speaking of eggs....with Easter just around the corner the tradition of the colored Easter eggs is brought to mind....now I often eat my second meal some time between 11:00 & 13:00 everyday....times vary but I usually will watch the cartoons on Nick Jr.....this day the Friday specials were two cartoons about the traditional colored eggs....and to my great surprise I discovered that they aren't Easter eggs any longer but are "Spring Eggs".....oy vey....political correction run amok....now being a biblical studies major in college I decry the commercialization of both Christmas and Easter....but good grief....

Did take a brief walk just out the backdoor to the plaza....first to Ollie's....they have 3 different models of personal blood pressure monitors....all 3 for less than $20....but as I read the instructions I'm concerned that I could hold still long enough to get an accurate reading because of the fact that I have essential tremors....which I inherited from my mom....there were a lot of shaky limbs on her side of the old family tree....actually had one in my basket today....and then decided that I should do a little more research about the different types on the internet....I'd even pay more for one that I'm sure would fit my condition....but did get another pair of kitchen scissors, and a large bottle of ketchup....I've always thought that that was a strange word.....so check the etymology....if your interested in where the word comes from you can check here......I use it as the base for a dripping sauce I make for chips....and fish/seafood....my own take on a cocktail sauce....and just a couple of bags of candy at Dollar General on my way home....spent the rest of the day prowling the internet....

The other day when I was in Price Shopper I needed a couple of raw veg to be added to my egg white dishes....I had been using purple top turnips....mostly because with there smaller size and my limited storage space they're the most convenient....I've always preferred rutabaga but the size available was just too big not only from the stand point of space....but since I cook for one....just too  much product for one person....now I have always thought that rutabaga was a turnip....but according to some reading I've done today....although they are in the same family as turnip....and cabbage is in that family as well....they are technically not turnips....but I as I said I was looking for a few things and went to get a purple onion....right next to the onions were the rutabaga....and I heard someone calling my name in a small voice....low and behold there in the pile of rutabaga was a couple just the right size....considerably small than the usual size.....so over the  last couple of days I have used up the purple top turnips....and made my 2nd meal dish of egg whites with the rutabaga and some parsnips and some purple cabbage...I had picked up at the same time....and the usual cast of supporting spices [saga, rosemary, thyme, nutmeg, salt & pepper].....and onion and of course garlic....and some cheddar cheese and Queso Fresco....I prefer the purple cabbage over the regular green variety....but there again I get the one where I can get the smallest head....taste wise I prefer the purple cabbage....even if it as a nasty habit of turning the egg whites blue....and the sum of this is the egg white dish was very, very good....
Did walk briefly today....just a quick trip across the street to Aldi....could have waited until the morrow....but needed to get out and get some exercise....and then another short walk this evening....the weather is getting nicer and I just want to get out with out having to "bundle up".....

It rained on and off most of the day beginning around 10:00 local time....just needed a few things at Dollar General....and since they open at 08:00....and it's just a short walk down the hill to the backside of the plaza where the store is....decided to walk just after 08:00....the weather change has been kicking my tuckus....the transitions between Autumn/Winter....and Winter/Spring....always get my arthritic knees singing a doleful dirge...and I sometimes run a low-grade fever....and since the lifestyle/diet changes I made over the last 17 months....they don't complain quite as loudly as they once did....at time in the past when they were singing at their loudest....I needed two canes to get from my chair to the little boys room....and after all the damage is virtually all self inflected....with the way I played sport in my youth....plus pounding the concrete floors of a factory for 35+ years....and many hours on a forklift....and the occasional klutz moments....but it has taught me that I am after all human....and weakness and age is part of the human condition.....and besides being a gimpy, grumpy, old codger....beats the alternative by a long toke....

It's late, but I wanted to get this posted....so I thought I better listen to something that would keep me from nodding off on the keyboard
Well just I had feared it was raining about the time I needed to go to the doc's for my twice yearly checkup....fortunately it wasn't raining hard....it's only about 1/4 of a mile from my rooms....and I have a very good rain jacket....what is sometimes referred to as a shell....which I picked up cheap at the Thrift Store...so it wasn't bad at all....got a clean bill  of health....got back to my rooms still  raining....and within a hour or so....rain stopped....sun came out....and it was a very pleasant 50's something Spring day....actually ended up walking 2 more times....once in the afternoon to Aldi to pickup a few things...and then again in the early evening just around the grounds here....watched a feral cat  on the hunt....a quick pounce....and off the cat went with a mouse....

Was a very pleasant day....high 50's....cloudy but just a nice breeze....took a short walk...took a walk through Ollie's, basically just looking for what new they might have gotten in....nothing jumped off the shelf and into my basket....then a stop at Dollar General....got a 6-pack of 7.5 oz Doctor Pepper....I don't drink soft drinks very often....and when I am in the mood for a taste a 12 oz can is more than I want....and Doctor Pepper is my fav....and a small cup of ice cream....
Speaking of Doctor Pepper....I have my twice yearly appointment with my Doc tomorrow....should  just be routine....[knock wood]....now his office is maybe 1/4 mile away....just an easy walk....and as Murphy's Law is in force.....rain is predicted for tomorrow morning....and I have a 09:00 appointment....so will have to check tomorrow to see how bad and make a quick decision....I do have rain gear if it's only light rain....but there is a chance of a thunder storm....oy vey.....

Tomorrow at least if the forecast is correct will be the first really warm day of a late developing Spring....my original plan was to wait to walk until tomorrow....but decide rather than walk to both the convenience store, Price Chopper and Aldi in the same trip I'd walk to the west today and back to the east tomorrow....than did a quick inventory of my than current pantry and discovered I needed to walk both places to day....so when I walked just after 10:30 local time....it was a  grey overcast sky and a bitter wind....but after the first two stops realized that my sling bag was already too full so headed back to my rooms and thought about waiting to go to Aldi tomorrow.....but then the old adage of living where I do came into play....it goes like this...."If you don't like the weather....wait 15 minutes....it will change".....well not 15 minutes....but just after 14:30 local time....the sun was out and although the actual temperature was about the same....it was a lighter wind....really no more than a breeze and was quite pleasant....while picking up the groceries I needed....saw a round of Queso Fresco and have been curious about it....so picked that up....as well as 4 bottle of fruit flavored sparkling water....and of course bananas....I've seen the sparkling water which I usually have with my second meal of the day at $1 or more....but at Aldi it's only 49 cents....and if you've read this slag-mire before you know I can pinch a penny with the best of them....so with all may errands run...and my pantry full....will probably walk tomorrow just for the walk itself....

Just another restful day....did watch a bit more TV than/usual....BBC was showing a marathon of episodes from the  original Star Trek series...in fact at times they show episodes from all but one of the Star Trek series....except "Deep Space Nine"....which other than the original is actually my favorite of the "spin-offs"....
Weather looks good for tomorrow....so will be off at some point....first to Price Chopper....although I do the bulk of my grocery shopping at Aldi....Price Chopper has a better selection of root veg....which is a particular favorite of mine....and I can buy from the loose bins....I don't have to buy by the bag....may make a longer trip of it and swing by Aldi as well....but that's a long walk....and after the winter weather and the fact that I haven't walked as much as I do in nice weather....my legs are a bit out of shape....plus the transition period between the seasons....especially between Winter & Spring effects my knees....so may take the walk or my cut it short and walk again later or Sunday....

It had been my original intent too spend the day in my rooms....USA was showing NCIS reruns....one of my fav shows....especially the first several years....but early evening I got a little restless and decided I needed to walk...probably won't walk tomorrow because there is rain in the forecast in the afternoon....but will walk Saturday....but in the opposite direct from my bank..., and its' very convenient ATM....and needed to withdraw some funds for my walk Saturday....decided to just nip over to the ATM....which I can see from the side door of the residential hotel I live in....and was going to return to my rooms forthwith....but although actually on the cool side, compared to  the winter weather which preceded it....was actually quite pleasant....and decided to take one of my short cuts to Big Lots....had finish the very nice salami I had bought there a week or so ago and wanted to see if they still had one....which they did....and while there saw another bottle of hot sauce which I didn't have....bringing the count to over ten....but really enjoyed  the walk....Have spent the rest of the day as/usual online....

It was a very windy day....and decided that it would be a good idea to stay in for the day....I'm not sure the root cause of the problem....but I have balance issues from time to time....whether it's the problems with my knees, feet, the essential tremors....or the fact that I have pasted my 71's birthday....and the strong winds today could present a problem....besides....I really had no need to walk...windy and possibly rain late in the day....and rain on Friday....but nice weather on Saturday....and will probably just wait until then....besides although not serious....I always feel a little "under the weather" during the transition between seasons.....especially between Autumn/Winter....&....Winter/Spring....
Ergo....a very quiet but a very enjoyable day....spent mostly online because there was nothing worth watching on TV....

Actually except for the wind which was blowing pretty strongly...mid teens....and predicted to be in the 25 mph range most of tomorrow....now there's an Idea....I've been told many times to "go fly a kite"....in a figurative sense....but it'd been years since I have flown a kite....if memory serves my daughter was nine or ten....and she's 41....besides maybe I'll put a key on the string and see if I can duplicate old Ben's experiment....now where can I look for a kite around here....[hum}....
Needed a few things at Aldi but walked a little later when it was warmer....was going to that a side trip to Big Lots....my left foot started complaining a little....which I was about to ignore....when my left knee joined the chorus....so thought better of it and headed back to my rooms....basically because my short cut to Big Lots is a fairly steep grassy hill....and can be a tad slick....so thought better of it....maybe if I had "thought better of it" when I was younger....when contemplating some of the crazy things I did....my legs and feet wouldn't complain as much and as loudly as they often did....the youngster who had this body thought it indestructible....the old man who now inhabits it knows that the youngster was an idiot....but unfortunately that knowledge does me absolutely no good....the damage is done....

Today was a sunny day but with the wind was a tad chilly....Today being a Monday housekeeping was in to clean and change my linen.....mentioned to B that I was having trouble finding fertilize sticks for my potted cedar tree....it was a Christmas gift....and she suggested "The Dollar Tree".....it's in the same plaza as Price Chopper but at the far opposite end....rarely get up that way....everything they sell costs a dollar....but I don't think I've been in the place more than once, maybe twice, in the 8+ years I've lived on this end  of town....found the sticks....and a cheese grater, a pot holder, and a box of microwavable soft pretzels somehow managed to basket....will have to add that place to the list of places I check from time to time....and earlier this evening I took a trip to Ollie's....I needed a bottle of mouth wash....and just like earlier....things just jumped into my basket....a bottle of Korean pepper sauce....and 2 flexible cutting boards....must be the "force"....
