boy that was a lot of fun, now i'll be the first to admit that i am not an expert in the domestic sciences, so i put a load in the washer earlier and of course promptly forgot about it, so a couple of hours later go down to transfer it to the dryer and the washer is off, i open the lid and there sits my clothes in half a tub of water, so i try to restart the spin cycle and the agitator growls at me, so i take the wet laundry out and the agitator does it's thing but the water ain't going nowhere......at which point i remember that while the washer doesn't sit on an outside wall it does sit on a wall that the cellar shares with the unheated garage.....and it has been way below zero lately ( ok so i did call my daughter for help but i thought about the discharge hose having ice in it.....well it's my story and i'm sticking to it)......where was i....oh yeah cold wall and ice.......so i managed to get the discharge hose off and the washer immediately gushed the water all over the floor....at which point i realized that the floor drain was also partially frozen.....but it is draining slowly......but it's in the low spot of the cellar so no harm no foul.......now i got to figure out how to get the ice out of the hose without damaging the flexible plastic hose.....i immediately discarded the idea of using a blow torch....and ended up giving the hose a hot bath........put about 6" of hot water in the bathtub and threw the hose in for 10 minutes..........and i said i wasn't a domestic god........
mean while the 3 little kittens, ok 3 old lady cats of mine are asleep, warm and comfortable on my bed...two on the fleece and one on a pair of my corduroy slacks....i really hate it when she does that because i have to spend time trying to get the dang cat hair off the slacks, but she that is aggie is sleeping so soundly i don't have the heart to move her
