Watertown, NY, USA . "Public Square" (vintage, date unknown) but the monument is honoring veterans of the American Civil War so the date of the image is late 1800s

I needed almost nothing tonight for groceries, and almost said forget it, because of the snow (see below entry). And hit the mother load. Grocery store had 3 1lb.+ packages of ground veal on special; I got all three for less then $4. Ground veal is my favorite meat for pasta sauce and sloppy joes, and is usually either hard to find or very expensive. Also got a manager special of 2/3 of a lb. Of bay scallops for $1.27, now it was relatively obvious from their appearance that I either had to use them like right away or freeze them. Well right away won out, sautéed them with evoo, garlic, and shallots, salt and pepper, and dressed them with a little fresh squeezed lemon juice, with a side salad of baby greens, some English cucumber and a romano Italian dressing, and coffee. Pure joy, have about half of them left which I intend to toss with angel hair pasta for tomorrow supper.
