   It's been a quiet day here in  my "fortress of solitude" howbeit a busy one & I haven't been out of my rooms all day..slept pretty well last night..so the clock about 03:00..rolled back over and the next time I saw it was after four o'clock..and when I took my first look for the day both FB groups I'm a moderator on were busier than/usual..many more new member requests than normal ..usually is a little busier on the weekends but even given that it was busier and the tend has continued all day..../....Had a decent morning session on "Pokerist" and decided to play gain this afternoon..again except for one episode of "Law & Order: SVU" while I ate my mid-day meal..and happened to hit one that is one of my favs..haven't watched any TV today..frankly nothing on that's worth my time & of course played the usual run of Sims$Solitaire games as I usual do..but not as many as usual..partial because of the time constraints..and two of the games "Clock" & "Freecell" I play for "speed" mostly to exercise my old stiff damaged hands..and today..they were complaining more than/usual..so I only played 2 each rather than the usual 4..ah..re:old stiff damaged hands..I will mention only one incident..playing goalie..dove into the corner to deflect the ball around the post..did but caught all eight fingers on the 4x$ hardwood goal post..bent back all eight fingers and sprained both wrists..dummkopf & unfortunately that was only on of several incidents where my hands were involved to their detriment..../....still just a couple of tasks to complete and a meal to be consumes before I take my rest..ergo..nite all....[19:27 UTC-5]....

   Except for a fourth run thru the Sims&Solitaire games I play and posting here and keeping the FB groups I mod..was done by just after 12:00 had a quick meal..the rains had ceased and I needed a walk..decided to go to T J Maxx & Price Chopper..except for one short section the sidewalks were clear howbeit a rad damp..at T J Maxx found something I;ve been looking for for quite some time..red pepper corns..I'd read about them..see them used on cooking shows on the TV and had wanted to try them..they  were a nit pricey but affordable..have since used them and may go back up there next week and if they still have them buy a "backup"..then to Price Chopper..a red bell pepper..a bottle of horseradish..a small wedge of Amish blue cheese and a length of pepperoni..I do love my sausages..but the windchill with temperatures in the mid-30's and a clear side walk I resumed my typical walking pace..rather than the slow careful pace of late and fear I may have overdid it a little because I was quite tuckered out when I got back to my rooms..had a brief sit down in my recliner and fell much better now..with rain again on the agendum for most of the afternoon tomorrow will probably spend tomorrow hunkered down in my warm..dry..cozy rooms..../....Although the style of play on "Pokerist" tends to be "loose" most of the time anyways..the weekends are worse..I  usual play at least an hour ..but today had my "Daily Quests"  done in 27 minutes and called it a day..../....Still a few things to finish up before I call it a day and take my rest..ergo.."nite all"....[17:49 UTC-5]..../....

   Had a good night's sleep and awoke almost exactly at 04:00 and got right in to the day..and in the process of checking today's weather it finally hit home to me that Monday was the 1st of March and I hadn't paid my rent for March..I always take care of that a couple of days ahead of time so although I didn't need to go to the lobby for breakfast items (only go every other day and get enough for 2 days) and took care of that detail..and wasn't quite down with my online game play..had one more cycle thru the Sim&Solitaire games I play..but was after 12:00 and was hungry..and also needed to take a walk to Ollie's & Dollar General..truth be told I just needed to walk and get some fresh air and the two stores were a good excuse..and except for just a short space not only were the sidewalks were clear and most were dry..just a bag of candy and one of dried fruit at Ollie's & a package of paper plates at Dollar General and back to my rooms and made a sandwich..and finished the last cycle of games..just after three and have been watching re-runs if "Bones"on the TNT network until taking a break to check on the two FB groups I'm a moderator on and start this post....[18:18 UTC-5]..../....I  was sitting down to finish this post and a knock on the door..was the the manager and he had tried to call me but I wasn't at my desk and didn't hear the phone..some how (??)  the ringer got turned off..now turned back on..now my sis-in-law has PMed me yesterday..she had been to both hers & mine favorite store..T J Maxx and they had very good deal on masks and bought more than they needed..[she & my bro are heading to  Florida for a month Sunday)..and I knew she was going to drop them off either yesterday or today..but more importantly she sent along a bottle of her home-made chili sauce..of which I'm quite fond..I have an open bottle of it in my frig..but room in the pantry for a backup..it's a prefect condiment for my /usual mid-day sandwich..../....The end of the day is approaching..the end of a very good day..a quiet day..and one I've enjoyed greatly..ergo.."nite all"....[19:33 UTC-5]..../....

   Had a decent nights sleep and the day was going well and just before 09:00 decided to take the walk to Aldi and pickup a few groceries..nothing out of the ordinary managed to sneak into my bag which a departure from the ordinary..but on the way there for the most part the rain and warmer weather yesterday had cleared all but about 40 feet of the sidewalks down to ice free if a little wet..now that 40 some odd feet..what a mess..got thru it on the way there but decided not to tempt fate or stress out my guardian angel..ergo..after checking the math decided that the odds of me falling and busting my tuckus or a more vital spot on the ole bod..was far greater than me getting hit by a car..traffic was light..so on the way back avoided the ice and took to the street..../....years ago during the summer between semesters in college I would run all summer to get in shape for fall sports..and most summers would run in a couple of AAU sanctioned 20K road races..and worked at the same shop as my dad..would ride with him to work but run home..distance to work in the car about 3 miles..distance running home about 10 miles..didn't exactly take the shortest route..one night about a miles from home was running past the high school sports fields and on the porch of a house on the other side of the street was an older woman and her little dog..now I wasn't on the sidewalk but on the side of the street and the dog came a running at me and nipped at my heals..well I turn and put my foot under the dog and flipped onto the grass..I didn't kick it..well the woman comes charging off the porch yelling "you stay right there I'm calling the cops"..i responded "You Call the police..I was not on your property and your dog was not leashed (city had/has a leach ordinance)..so she picks up the dog and walks away and I finished my run..next time I went home that way she was on the porch..dog was leashed and she was giving me the "evil eye"..after that I decided to change my route home..../....Still a shower and meds to be taken..a meal and ????    Not sure what my problem is today..It's just approaching 18:00 and a good two hours before my usual sack-time and I'm a;ready trying to fall asleep as a try..try being the operative word..and it's not that I've do anything strenuous today..haven't been out of rooms all day..got up at the /usual 04:00 or there abouts..took a break at 07:00 and ate 1st meal while watching an NCIS episode on the USA Network..then back to online gaming,,another break at noon and an couple of episodes ob "Paw Patrol" while consuming a sandwich..and was done just after 14:00 with my gaming..although didn't play quite as many as/usual..setup tomorrow's worksheets and check TV listings for tomorrow..took my shower and meds..made a meal and spent from 15:00 to 17:30 watching "Shooter" on the TNT Network..have seen the flick several times..but enjoy it..and now after I completed this posting will have to figure out what to do the rest of what's left of the day..I had thought about maybe playing a couple more Solitaire games or maybe another run at the tables on Pokerist but not sure whether as tired as I feel I'd be able to concentrate as much as needed..could watch a little more TV..but sitting in my recliner..tilted back..I might sleep more than I watched..any-ways..../....I need to walk take a walk over to Aldi's either tomorrow or Friday..although not quite as warm as today..daytime highs both days in the lower to mid 30's F neither rain &/or snow is in the forecast..in the 40s F Saturday w/rain..As I haven't been out today I'm hoping that the warmer temperatures and rain have taken care of the miserable condition the sidewalks have been in especially the one's to the east which I must traverse to reach Aldi..well I off to see what the rest of the day may hold for me ..ergo.."nite all"....[18:15 UTC-5]..../....

   Been an interesting day..decent nights sleep..busy on the two FB groups I mod on..was a bit behind the ole 8-ball an d just after 10:00 housekeeping made there /usual Tuesday visit..cleaned the "little boy's room"..fresh linens and towels and vacuumed the carpet..a quick in and since I never..ever "trash" the place..and decided to take the walk to the convenience store I cancelled yesterday..temperature in the mid 30s F..some thawing so except for a couple of easy to avoid puddles..the going was much easier..wind was maybe 10 mph..and it was occasionally spitting a little snow..got what I needed at the convenience store..and on the way back made a stop at Dollar General..a 6-pack of 7.5 oz. cans of diet Coke..a bottle of Gatorade Zero..a can of black olives for the pantry..had just opened the last can..or so I  thought until I went to put the new one away and discovered I had already bought the "backup"..oy vey..not the first time I've done that and not just with black olives..and a couple of apple pocket pies..../....had all my Sims & Solitaire play completed..and decided to play a second session on "Pokerist"..needed to win a hand with a "High Card" to complete a "Quest" which I failed to do..but did win a pot with 2 pair Aces & Eights..and gained a bonus.. the Dead Man's Hand..I just hope that's not an omen..[hehe]..../....trying to decide what to do for the rest of the day..maybe some TV..but definitely a meal..shower and taking my meds will be involved....[16:42 UTC-5]..../....Showered..meds taken..a rustic egg-white frittata w/asparagus consumed..some "Rizzoli & Isles" watch and FB groups check..have decided to spend the rest of the night watching some Track & Field events I've bookmarked from Youtube..ran some track & cross-country in college..and a few 20Ks and 2 marathons as an unattached runner..the starters gun is about to be fired..ergo.."nite all"....[18:27 UTC-5]..../....

   One look at the weather forecast for today made me decided not to take the planned walk for today to the convenience store..wasn't the threat of a little snow that made me change my plans..rather it was the predicted winds of 20 to 30 mph..the very thought of trying to walk the snow covered and possibly slippy sidewalks in winds that strong with my balance issues stemming from my essential tremors frankly was a very scary thought..ergo..no walk for this gimpy_grumpy codger today..I may well be crazy but I 'tain't stupid..../....I've been running behind my usual schedule most of the day..both the groups I moderate on FB have been busier that/usual..and have spent more time on that I usually do..and on top of that for whatever reason my joints have been a little stiffer than normal and I've had a few more small tremors..don't know exactly why..but it's been the case..../ ....Someone posted to one of my groups the Larson cartoon "The Parakeet of the Baskervilles"..which got me thinking..years ago we kept both parakeets and cats..the birds' cages were hung from the ceiling so the cats couldn't reach them..one day  we were cleaning the large males' cage..had it on the counter in the kitchen when one of the cats..the alpha female..jumped up on the counter and pressed her face against the cage..I was about to intervene..when the bird hopped down his perch..look at the cat ..and pecked her on the nose..well that dang cat took off like she'd been shot..and after that anytime we were cleaning the birds' cages she was no way to be found..../....have almost all my ducks in-a-row save for a couple of the rowdy ducklings..some decent TV on tonight for a change and a meal to be consumed..ergo.."nite all"....[17:04 UTC-5]..../....[[note]: have placed a copy of the aforementioned Larson cartoon in the footer]..../....

   After looking at tomorrows weather forecast decided to take the walk to the ATM for my "ten day walking around money" & the few things I needed at Aldi..left just before 09:00 and did take the sidewalk..was better but not that good..and the walk up to the bank/ATM is on an up slope..and there was a very icy spot that I decided I didn't want to try on the way back down..got my money and then walked in the street down to the crosswalk to Aldi..just the usual fare except for a product I haven't seen before.."Anywise Flat Bread"..two rounds of flatbread connected with a "hinge"..sandwich size..you put your fittings on one side then fold the other half over..I got the multi-grain..mixed up some canned tuna..some shallot_capers_salt & pepper & mayo..a nice sandwich..and a neat idea..will definitely place them on the to buy list..../....spent the rest of the day in my rooms and online..just the usual Sims..Solitaire..and just over an hour session of poker on "Pokerist"..and checking in from time to time on both "The Farthest Side" & "Let the Far Side be with you"..were I'M a moderator..and posting to both..../....I'll check the weather tomorrow morning and unless we are getting more snow than  predicted will probably take that walk to the convenience store anyways..and maybe a stop at Price Chopper & T J Maxx..../....starting at 17:00 to night I hanging the "do not disturb" sign on the door to my rooms..BBC America is airing "The Hunt for Red October"..& I still have a few online tasks to take care of before I shut the puter off for the day..ergo.."nite all"....[16:40 UTC-4]..../....

   Got a decent nights sleep and a pretty normal start to my days activities..been kind of an emotional day for me..although I have never met either of these people face to face as it were they were FB friends and both were moderators with me on the FB group "The Farthest Side"..one has left the group because of illness and we got news today the other one passed away yesterday..and I will miss them both..both are/were younger than I..(sigh)..../....today I did something I rarely do..except for one flick on HBO airing at 11:35 this morning there was ziltch on the "old boob tube" today..so decided to take a break in the middle of my online game play..made a sandwich and enjoyed "Wrath of the Titans"..have seen it a couple of times before and despite the fact that it's a little campy..that's what I needed today..and still managed to be done with the bulk of my online game play by just after 14:00..../....haven't decided whether to walk to the ATM & Aldi tomorrow or wait until Monday..sunny tomorrow and temperatures around 30*F and mid 30s on Monday..which should take care of the icy conditions on that stretch of sidewalk to the east because both the ATM & Aldi are in that direction and on the agendum..but if I do walk tomorrow I'll do it earlier so I have the option of walking in the street..even as busy as Arsenal St is..traffic is light to non-existent on Sunday morning before 10:30 or there abouts..../....still haven't exact decided what to do with the rest of the day..maybe some Youtube..maybe another run at "Pokerist" or the Sims & Solitaire..but definitely a meal will find it's way into the schedule at some point..ergo.."nite all"....[16:53 UTC-4]..../....

   Despite another late start to the day..I guess my old body is trying to tell me I need more rest was pretty much done with my only activities by just after 12:30..made a quick sandwich and decided to take a walk..not to the east and that almost impassible stretch of sidewalk I encounter yesterday..(see yesterday's post)..but to the west..although a little packed snow it was for the most part easy going..truth be told really didn't needed anything other than so exercise..had awoke a little stiffer than /usual..and decided a walk would do me good..I hadn't stopped at the "Thrift Store" for quite sometime and decided to go in and look around ..and had been looking for a small bowl to put condiments in for dipping assorted chips and another dip-able items in..and found one that fit my needs..cost me a whole 85 cents..than to Dollar General..got a bag of rubber bands..a can of black olives..(had opened the one I had a couple of days ago and as there are a "staple" in my diet wanted a reserve)..a candy bar..dark chocolate w/orange peel..& a bag of pretzel bites stuffed with peanut butter..of which I am extremely fond of..and then back to my rooms ..have spent the last few hours either watching episodes of "Bones" or wandering around the internet..checking into the groups I'm a mod on..posting a couple  of Larson panels..remembered that I do have an account on Pinterest and checked out what there had for Larson cartoons..found a "boat load" so another source for that..and of course tending my YouTube channel and my three blogs....[17:54 UTC-5]..../....oops..forgot to publish this last night..[04:05 UTC-5]..../....,

   It took me awhile to fall asleep last night but finally did..awoke about 02:00..rolled back over and the next time I saw the clock it was 05:00..so got a late start on the day..had checked in on the FB groups I mod..played a little over an hour of poker on "Pokerist" and made my daily postings to "Trollie's Game Room" was just past 08:00..decided to eat first meal and then walk to Aldi..so just before 09:00 headed to the east..first section of the sidewalk was ok..about like the other day but apparently  the vendor on the next property had scraped the walk..and left a pile of snow in the middle at the property line..got over that and quickly discovered on had hit a patch of ice..and lost my footing..fortunately I was able to regain my balance..with the cane and the hard packed snow bank to my left..and I'm also sure my guardian angel was also involved..over the course of my life and some of the stunts and klutz moves I've made I'm sure my guardian angel draws hazardous duty pay..anyways I found  spots with better footing and got to Aldi without further incident..just the typical fare..had a nice chat with one of the managers..who I knew before I started shopping there..her husband was a few years back the handyman at the hotel I live in..both are good people..and the kid who checked me out is a riot..(I say kid but she's probably in her late 40s/early 50s..but still a kid from my advanced years)..we give each other a "hard time" but 'tis all in fun..and by-enlarge the crew over there are very nice people ..ergo on the way back to my digs I took to the street..traffic was light..and I stayed on the shoulder of the street..figuring that I had a far less chance of getting hit by a car than I would have falling down and breaking my tuckus if I tried the sidewalk again..was after 14:00 before I had all my online ducks in-a-row..showered and meds taken..watched a "Bones" episode at 15:00..and then sat down where I am right now..still a few minor details to deal with before I take my rest..ergo.."nite all"....[16:55 UTC-5]..../....

   Took me awhile to fall asleep last night but slept well..over slept a little & when I checked the weather around 04:30 the temperature was -2*F/-14*F w/windchill..but a check of the projected temperatures thru the day it looked like it might be warm enough for me to take may walk to Price Chopper and T J Maxx..so when I checked again just before 10:00..temperature was in the mid-teens and +6*F with windchill so donning my Carhart coat & lined sweat pants off I went..although the majority of the sidewalks were packed snow and reasonably smooth there were some parts the rutted and the going was slow..but got to Price Chopper..the pharmacy was busy so it took a little longer than/usual..but picked up some shallots..garlic cloves..three peppers.. some crusty bread..a wedge of blue cheese..a couple of condiments & a box of "Star Crunch"..and the meds..and off to T J Maxx..a bottle of a fire roasted garlic and habanero pepper sauce..which packs quite a wallop..will have to us it with the proper discretion..but it's very tasty..had a nice chat with a couple of the clerks at T J Maxx..have known the one for several years..she works at the local Sunoco convenience store (not the one I usually stop at lately) but well still working there also is now working at T J Maxx as well..by-enlarge most of the gals working there are nice kids and well..as I've said many times before..the day I stop looking and chatting with the ladies is the day they nail the lid over my old grey head..but by the time I made my way back to my rooms and got every thing put away it was nearly 12:00..finished my game play..another session of poker..have had a couple of meals and watched the second Mechanic movie...and have but a few things left to do before I take my rest..my daily shower and taking my meds bing the next things on the schedule..I need to walk to Aldi either tomorrow or Friday but that will be determined by the weather..anyways..it's that time..ergo.."nite all"....[18:54 UTC-5]..../....

   Had a decent nights sleep again last night..back has been feeling better of late but a couple of weeks ago when housekeeping was in I had them flip and spin the mattress and I've slept better without any back issues..but I'm running a little behind my usual schedule today..took longer than usual to  complete the "Quests" for the day on "Pokerist" but did and had one of my better days at the table to boot..also Tuesday being the day housekeeping was in and that delay was a bit longer than /usual but that wasn't a problem..I can't do that kind of work anymore and am thankful that I don't need to..but once I've completed this post it is my firm intention to spend the rest of the majority of my waking hours today watching the "old boob tube" and vegging out..a good episode of Rizzoli & Isles..and the flick "Winter's War"..and maybe the tag end of the third "Bourne" movie..and I'm sure a snack or three will be consumed..../....I haven't really checked the weather other areas might have caught with this past storm that hit most of the east coast of the USA..but local it didn't amount to very much..will check conditions tomorrow morning and if things are relatively clear will take a walk to Price Chopper and maybe T J Maxx..there a few food items I'd like to pickup and a refill on one of my meds from the in-store pharmacy..there us a Walgreens in the area as well but it's a much longer walk and the convenience of being able to get my meds and shop for groceries while they fill the prescription makes them the best choice for this gimpy_grump_cane swing_old codger..speaking of my meds..need to take my meds and my nightly shower..ergo.."nite all"....[14:45 UTC-5]..../....

   Had a good nights sleep last night and right into the usual run of online gaming..took a break just after 07:00 to get a few items from the breakfast buffet and eat my first meal while playing a Spade Sim..took another break just after 12:00 for a sandwich and was done with the day's play by just after 14:00..took care of some new member requests on both "The Farthest Side" & "Let the Far Side be with You"..showered..took my meds and sat down to watch an episode of "Rizzoli & Isles"..which used the marathon as a backdrop..see it before and one of the better ones..I actually ran in the Boston Marathon some 51 years ago this spring..and at the time that year was the largest field to that date..1,500 runners..not the 30K+ of today..and was IIRC the first year woman could legally compete..did do as well as I would of like..took a bad step and bruised the instep of my left foot and finish in the middle of the pack..but finished..../....It appears that we are only going to catch the edge of the winter storm that's going to hit most of the eastern part of the USA..the warning calls for 7 to 14 inches in some areas but apparently the center of the storm is going to miss us..with that said..this gimpy..grumpy..old cane swing.codger ain't sticking his nose out the doors of this hotel to Wednesday at the earliest..got all I need and besides there's delivery..let somebody get paid for trudging thru it..[hehe].. seriously..don'y have a reason to venture out..ain't venturing out.../....BBC America is airing a bunch of "Law &  Orders" starting at 17:00 tonight..always was one of my fav shows so will watch a couple..I'm sure a snack or three will be consumed..ergo.."nite all"....[16:58 UTC-5}..../....

   With the "Winter Storm Warning going into affect 17:00 tomorrow and a 60% chance of snow earlier in the day..there were a few things I need from Ollie's and Dollar General and decided to take that walk around 10:00..had the other night transferred the last of my olive oil from the bottle to the squeeze bottle I use for cooking..with my essential tremors the squeeze bottle makes it easier to get the amount of a liquid that I want..also was all most out of danish butter cookies..and all-spice..got all three and a box of thin-mints managed to sneak into my basket..and then at Dollar General..4 apple pocket pies..a bottle of Gatorade Zero..a 6-pack of 7.5 oz. cans of diet Coke..so I'm good thru Wednesday at least..do need to make a walk to Price Chopper & T J Maxx later in the week..among food items I've got to refill a prescription on one of my meds..unlike the sidewalks to the east and Aldi..the ones to the west that I traveled on today except for more short section which had some hard packed snow..the rest were clear save for a dusting here and there of fresh snow..and with the temperature in the mid-teens and hardly any wind atall it was a pleasant if brisk walk..which I thoroughly..also had a nice chat with one of my fav clerks at Ollie's and back in the hotel another nice chat with H..another of the residents here..and other the that have spent the rest of my day as I often do online..with nothing worth my time on TV tonight will probably play a few more games..and keep an eye on the FB groups i'm a mod on..quite typically for a weekend they both have been fairly busy..a bunch of new member requests to vet..still a few things need mt attention both on & off line..ergo.."nite all"....[17:08 UTC-5]..../....

   Slept quite well last night..overslept a little but was done with all my normal game play by just after 12:00..mostly because the "weekend crazies" were out in force on "Pokerist" and I  had all my daily "Quests" completed in 30 minutes..I usually play an hour+ but decided I was in no mood to put up with the prevalent style of play with nothing real to gain except getting frustrated so booked it..../....Now I hadn't been out my rooms except for trips to the lobby and with another storm coming Monday decided since I wanted to go to both Aldi and a combined walk to Ollie's & Dollar General..I needed to do one today and the other tomorrow..Aldi was necessary and the other optional..ergo..despite the fact the windchill was still about -4*F..off I went..the sidewalks are a mix of packed snow & old ice..but not rutty..so as long as you move slow and with caution they're not to bad..of course at my age..bad feet..knees..and balance issues..slow is my top speed..and the cane comes in handy as well..I was running out or low and quite a few items..and when I checked out was initially surprised at the amount of the bill..but then thought you've not been out for 4 days..and you bought a "ton of stuff"..so much that even a world class packer like me couldn't fit it all in my sling bag..and that's why I always carry a cloth bag as well..and the rolls and bananas rode home there..maybe I could have got them in the sling bag but didn't want to run the chance of bruising/crushing them..../....probably will watch the second of the "GI Joe" monies later..have to take my daily shower and take my meds..maybe some more solitaire games..check on the 2 FB groups I mod..and some grub will find its' way into the picture..ergo.."nite all"....[16:23 UTC-5]..../....

   It's been a cold day again today and although it is forecast to warm up over the weekend it looks like Monday before the daytime highs are back into the mid-20s F..I'd really like to walk to Aldi either tomorrow or Sunday..and will keep an "eye" on the temperature..but if I have to Monday will work out as well..I haven't been out of my rooms save for trips up to the lobby and I'm getting a mild case of cabin fever..add to that there has been very little watchable TV today..at least from my POV and even less tomorrow..fortunately there is Youtube..../....Slept pretty well last night and despite the fact that I took about an hour off to watch a "NCIS" episode around 07:00 on the USA Network..I had the bulk  of my regular on-line play done and "Trollie's Game Room" posted to before 13:00..and with zilch on TV have spent the afternoon..playing a few more games of the Sims&Solitaire games and played another session of poker on "Pokerist"..a wild session..almost every hand most of the players were all-in before the flop..[Texas Hold Um is the game played there]..Now even during the week the style of play is pretty loose..but on the weekends it pure insanity..but I picked my spots  and ended ahead more than I have before..but it was a wild ride..but TNT is  showing a couple of the older episodes of "Bones" this evening so after I finish this posting..I'll make a last check on the FB groups i'm a mod on..watch "Bones" and then take my rest..I'm sure somewhere in the process a sandwich will make an appearance and then a disappearance..ergo.."nite all"....[17:54 UTC-5]..../....

   I was done with the bulk of my online game play just after 13:00..and decided that I was completely done..and have taken the rest of the afternoon off..had a couple of small meals and a snack..shower and meds taken..watched a couple of episodes of "Pawn Stars" and a couple of episodes of "Bones"..the last episode in the series was run the other night and they've gone bad to the beginning episodes..which were my favorites anyways..but have kept an "eye" on both 'The Farthest Side" & "Let the Far Side be with you"..wandered around Youtube and done a little research on the net..just topics that interest me..some might get mentioned here from time to time..../....Slept well again last night and have felt pretty good most of the day..except for the short walk to the lobby to pickup some items for breakfast for the next two days have been in my rooms all day..and unless something unforeseen occurs probably will not walk until Saturday or Sunday..as it is turning colder again and I suspect the windchills will be in the minuses again..but warming up again over the weekend..as I get older I just don't tolerate the cold the way I once did and can't wait for Spring to arrive and the return of the Canada Geese who use the three pond in easy walking distance of where I live as a nursery for the years' hatch..one just maybe 30 yds. from the backdoor..one just down the hill and the other on the other side of Western Blvd..I have spent countless hours over the 10 springs I've lived here watching the little fuzz balls grow in to young adults..and the only way to tell them from the adults is that they're just slightly smaller..but come mid-July..and their flight feathers developed they take wing and are gone..probably in a local farmer's corn or wheat field..../....Intend to just sit back and relax..watch a little more "boob tube" and a sense a apple pocket pie might be in my immediate future..ergo.."nite all"

   Had a decent nights sleep last night but for some reason yet to be determined I had a hard time this morning getting the "old engine" started..now despite may early rising I've have never been and mostly likely never will be a "morning person"..and add to that my essential tremors were giving me a tad more of a problem..if I had know in high school what I discovered in college and now in the computer age I might have taken typing..although I do pretty well with a two finger style it's only marginally better that..what we called the Columbus Method.."Discover and Land" or the scriptural method.."Seek and Ye Shall Find"..one semester I had 25 7 to 10 page paper to be writing and typed for two different courses..thankfully there were a couple of co-eds that took mercy on me..for a couple slices of pizza & a coke..but over the years with the arrival computers with keyboards..when I was in my teens you programmed them with punch cards..I've gotten a little better with practice..but didn't seem to help much this morning..but then after and hour or so the tremors subsided and the rest of the day went quite smooth..and was done with the bulk of the days' gaming save for a short session of poker on "Pokerist"..just wasn't catching..was marginally ahead and decided enough was enough and cut the session short..and for most of the afternoon have just kicked back..watch a little "Rizzoli & Isles"..wandered around Youtube and attended to my mod duties on "The Farthest Side" &"Let the Far Side be with you" on FB..../....and just a few ducks left to get in-a-row before I take my rest..ergo.."nite all"....]17:21 UTC-5]..../....

   Got a pretty typical start to the day..my feet hit the floor at 04:00 and even with the /usual Tuesday visit from housekeeping was done with the bulk of my game play by just after 13:00..had a sandwich with some mixed italian cold cuts of which I am quite fond..and decided to talk a walk to the west and the convenience store..the sidewalks were packed snow and rutty but not that bad..the only really problem was were you had to cross a street there were some very slushy puddles..kind of nasty for me because of a old Achilles tendon injury I can't tolerate any high cut show..fortunately the water wasn't high enough to "invade: my shoes..hew kid waited on me at the convenience store and headed back to my rooms..and went I got to the entry way to the drive of the hotel I live in decided as it was only a couple of days early for me to get my "10-day walking around money" to head up to the ATM..but when I got to the bank it was snowing lightly and decided to go inside..the bank branch I use has a teller were old codgers like me can sit down to make our transaction(s)..that done on my way out stuck my head in the door of the managers office and had a chat..the manager is as we would have said back-in-the-day "good people"..and then back to my rooms..../....    Got a tad of a late start this morning but just before 09:00 decided to walk despite the windchill being -4*F_ got my Carhart on and off I went to Aldi..and regretted than I hadn't put my lined sweats on rather then the unlined I was wearing but once I got into the walk was okay..sidewalks were mostly packed snow and although a little rough in spots footing was good..just the usual fare ..bananas..a couple of good german dark chocolate bars..fruit flavored sparkling water & a couple of packages of italian cold cuts..and back to my rooms and despite the time away was done with all my Sim&Solitaire play..and a session of poker on "Pokerist" howbeit that I cut short..just wasn't catching many decent hands and had completed the "Quests" for the and decided enough was enough..had a meal..and decided to walk to Dollar General seeing that it has warmed up...well a +6*F is warmer than a -4*F windchill..I did say it was warmer..not warm..just some cookies..4 apple pocket pies..a bottle of Gatorade Zero & a can of black olives (both of which I had forgotten to get when I was there Friday)..and a 6-pack of 7.5 oz. cans of Canada Dry Ginger Ale..decided to take a break from the /usual Dr. Pepper..besides it was cheaper..and back again to my rooms feeling I bit like I'd been dragged through a knothole backwards..my back was talking to me with words I won't repeat..anyways an application of a topical analgesic cream and the back is just whispering quiet'y now..../....Still a few details to iron out before I take my rest.. checking in on both of the FB groups I'm a moderator for..probably hunting on "Goggle Images" for some Larson cartoons..    We got lucky..we may have gotten three inches of snow here in the small city I live in..but it wouldn't surprise me id the area to the south and East of us a high plateau called Tug Hill got quite a but more than we did..During the Winter of '77 we got about 280" of snow in the city..but up on Tug Hill there got 350" at a record station at Sear's Pond on Tug Hill..now that weekend my farther-in-law and I went trout fishing up there..some really nice trout streams up there..some stocked fish but also so native trout..and there were still drifts of snow on the north slopes of some of the hills..so I was recounting the story to one of the other maintenance guys were I worked and he had a better one..he'd but up there as well..had been driving along one of the logging roads...went around a curve and got stuck in a 3 foot snow drift..but over the last few years "wind farms" have been built on the Tug Hill Plateau..the largest is "Maple Ridge Wind Farm"..a couple of years ago the crew that was adding the last 100 turbines up there stayed in the hotel I live in....[15:47 UTC-5]....Just got back from a trip to the lobby and have my traditional toffee coffee.. made the "rounds" as it were on FB..checking my alerts and tending to my mod duties on to different groups..and decided I'd better sit myself down and finish my posting here for the day..TNT is showing "Justice League" started about an hour or so ago but had some details to take care of so decided to get every thing else finished and then just watch the last part..I've seen it many times before..played a short session of "Pokerist" as well as a few off-line concerns..and have no intention of watching "The Super Bowl"..over the years for many reasons have just lost interest in what we from the USA incorrectly call "football"..anyways ..things to do before I take my rest..ergo.."nite  all"....[16:31 UTC-5]..../....

   We have gotten a couple of inches of fresh snow and because of the relatively high winds it's been blowing around and the visibility isn't good..but from my point of view let it blow around and get more snow because I'm warm and comfortable in my rooms and have no intention of venturing out into it..and with the shopping I did yesterday won't have to for a few days anyways ..and best of all because of my living arrangements someone else is responsible for the shoveling_blowing &/or plowing of the aforementioned snow..ergo..let "Mother Nature" do her worst..../....Was Pretty much done with my online activities by just after 13:00..had a meal..showered and taken my meds..and played about an hour of poker on "Pokerist"..if the style played by many of the players can actually be called poker..going all-in pre-flop on every hand regardless of what two pocket cards you hold..re-minds me more of 'Russian Roulette" than poker..except you want to find a bullet in the chamber..but by betting the minimum and only playing good pockets I can usual stay ahead of the game..both AM & PM sessions today I left with more of the faux game money than I had brung with me..../....AMC is showing the "Bourne Ultimatum" at 17:30 local time..and yes I've double check the time and [knock wood} sincerely hope to avoid my errors of yesterday..../....But as it runs to 20:00 local time..my traditional bed-time there are still a few things to accomplish before I sit me down in my recliner and watch..need to spend sometime modding on the FB groups "The Farthest Side" & "Let the Far Side be with you"..and I think a sandwich with mixed italian cold-cuts would be a great accompaniment to the movie..ergo.."nite all".....[16:31 UTC-5]..../....

   Sometimes I can be such a dummkopf..I apparently miss recorded the time for the "Bones" pilot..it was on at 18:00 and not 17:00..so I used the time to go back to "Pokerist" and although I didn't have a great session on the table did win a hand "heads up"..I called..other guy folded and got credit for a high card hand an completed the one "Daily Quests" I hadn't completed earlier..and just before I left made a straight flush which moved me up a level on the "Achievement 'Straight III'" and a nice bonus..so despite leaving a little faux game money on the table I ended up ahead..but I've always said..Ii'd rather be lucky than good..../....So I watched the pilot for "Bones"..I really liked the first few years of the show but after they decided to marry Bones & Booth..the show lost the tension between the two..the will they or won't they..and as with most shows that run for many years towards the end they'd apparently run out of believable plots and the shows got at times very weird..just my 2 cents..../....

   Well somehow I was farmisht this morning and thought that my sis-in-law was picking me up to do some shopping today and nor tomorrow..dummkopf..anyways..I finally tumbled to that fact..but spent sometime strolling around the packing lot which had been cleared quite nicely..and enjoying a warm..sunny day..temperature was in the low 30s F with a bright sunny..now I realize that low 30s aren't actually warm but after the last few days with temperatures in the single digits or lower and windchills low than that..a low 30s F day and sun feels like an early spring day..../....I've mentioned often that I am both a member/moderator on  the FB group "The Farthest Side"..recently I've joined another FB group.."Let the Far Side be with you"..and mentioned I had dealt with a spammer who spammed one of  my posts..well today I got a message offering me a job as a moderator on the group which I've decided to accept..it's a fairly new group and they probably could use the help from an experienced mod..besides it's a small group and I don't anticipate a very "heavy" work load..../....Have as/usual spent the rest of the day online..playing my Sims & Solitaire games..had a very good AM:session of poker on "Pokerist"..I'm not sure I mentioned this but "Pokerist" is a "free" site..no actual money changes hands..just game money..faux money..it 'taint real..and as usual attending to my mod duties now on two differnt groups..been kickin' around Youtube and am thinking about another session of poker..maybe some TV and of course a meal at some point before I take my rest..ergo.."nite all"....

   A pretty typical start time to my day..and as more often then not it didn't go exactly as I had planned..took longer then /usual to complete the "Daily Quests" on "Pokerist" and with everything else was past 15:00 before I got the bulk of my daily routine completed..../....With the snow of the last few days and more expected over the weekend..and the fact that the recent snow s have probably concealed the icy patches that I'm quite sure are still on the sidewalk and add to that my balance issues..I'm reluctant to venture out..ergo..have PMed my brother who lives nearby and arranged to get a ride over to Aldi tomorrow..he'll be in town..he volunteers at a local charity and his lady has agreed to come in it him and take me shopping..of which I am quite thankful..../....I mentioned the other night about scammers spamming a couple of my posts on a group I'm part of and had to deal with two more today..not a problem in one way but I have to admit it's getting tiresome..and on the group I mod there's another one that I think we mods have lost count on how many times we've blocked him from membership..I guess I have to give him high grades for persistence but oy vey..you'd think he'd take the not so subtle hint that we don't permit such nonsense on the group....[17:45 UTC-5]..../....

   Fresh off the table from a late session on "Pokerist"..table of nine..mixed bag of styles but was up for a change..enjoyed the game..../....Must admit that the weather is starting to get me down a bit..but by past experience February has always been the month that my patience with "Mother Nature" wears a little thin..but on the other hand..I always manage to muddle thru it somehow..although on the bright side my health has been good this winter..no colds..and for the most part my bad feet and knees have not complained as much as they used to do in winters past..so I'll just hunker down and wait for spring..and the arrival of the Canada Geese..I live a short way from three ponds that in the spring become a goose nursery and greatly enjoy watching the little fuzz-balls mature..../....one or two more items on the docket and then I will take my rest..ergo.."nite all"....[19:14 UTC-5}..../....

   It's not showing that hard but with the winds at 16 mph the visibility is poor at best..and I'm glad I'm not driving or walking for that matter under present conditions..but what worries me is that because of the cold weather we've just been experiencing there are some icy patches on the sidewalk..and now with them covered by snow..they will be difficult to see and avoid..but the advanced forecast for Friday calls for temperatures in the mid 30s F..and rain/winter mix..hopefully that will if not remove the icy spots..at least reveal them..I could put off to at least Saturday if necessary put off my walk to Aldi..but with my balance issues because of the essential tremors I really don't want to walk if hot sure of my footing..and there again although I've never used it before Aldi does deliver..and I do live just across the street from it..so will keep an eye on the weather and let caution be my guide.../....

   Saw the clock just after 03:00 and rolled back over..but after about 5 minutes decided it was a loss cause and was done with all but a few details by just short of 13:00..and that was after taking the hour between 07:00 and 08:00 to eat my first meal of the day and watch an episode of "NCIS"..but than I had only played an hour of "Pokerist" rather than the more typical 2 hours..and housekeeping stopped by but that was only about 15 minutes..so have sometime on my hands...the first of the "Fast & Furious" is on HBO-2 in just under an hour and will probably catch some if not all of that..and maybe a second pass at "Pokerist"..and a meal &/or a snack I'm sure will find it's way into the schedule..so there are things that need my attention before I take my rest..ergo..    I'm not exactly sure why but I have an idea that it was probably the two walks I took yesterday,,but although I went to bed around my usual 20:00 time..I never surfaced until nearly 05:00..which put me as we would have said back in the day..behind the 8-ball..and yes I was a pretty good stick at one time but my game was 9-ball..because I was running behind..left my posting of my poker results to after I had finished my games and had eaten a meal..but had everything wrapped up by just after 15:00..watched some TV and caught up with my modding duties on the FB group "The Farthest Side"..we've been having a issue with bitcoin scammers who have been trying to join the group..I've blocked the same dude three different times..and some of the other mods have blocked him too..he changes his name..and where he's from but..he always uses the same picture of him in his Ferrari..or at least he'd like peeps to think it his..now it is a fact that I was born in the morning but it wasn't this morning..oy vey..../....When I was in college I used to play at a pool hall in the city the college I attended was in..well pool hall in front..what when on in back thru the door where the very large italian gentleman always sat is unknown(wink)..but there was this guy who played there as well.."Johnson City Slim"..so one day I'm just practicing & he comes in with a couple of guys..casually walks by me and whispers "miss a few"..then I hear from the front of the room I could beat you two straight pool to 120 balls dollar a ball with that kid on the back table..I said to "What have you gotten me into"..he says "no sweat..we got 'um covered"..first guy breaks and makes 18 balls..I ran 36 and had a problem..asked "Slim..will there be a problem if I hit a safe..he just chuckled and look at the gentleman sitting by the backdoor"..anyways hit the safe..their guy scratched..Slim ran 84 balls in-a-row..they left and he handed me a fifty..we played 9-ball together often and played pretty even..but the college moved and my career as a pool hustler was at an end..true story..../....still a few details to wrap up..ergo.."nite all"....[17:36 UTC=5]..../....
