The weather today wasn't as bad as forecast..it did rain intermittently..but the winds at times were well under the predicted 20+ mph..now the forecast for Saturday has changed so I am planing to go to Aldi..and then possibly Price Chopper and the convenience store..one my longer walks..but also needed a few things that I get at Ollie's and Dollar General..so since that's a short walk..so picked a hole in the weather..temperature was in the 60s and wind was down and no rain..but decided to wear my rain/wind breaker vest just in case..got to Ollie's weather was fine..just a couple of bottles of vinegar..an apple cider and balsamic..but the lines were long and took longer than I had anticipated..by the time I left the weather had flipped  a switch..the wind had picked up and there was somewhere between a mist and a light drizzle of moisture in the air..and I was quite glad that I had decided to wear the wind breaker..just a jug of tomato juice and a bad of ripple chips at Dollar General..and got back before the wind and rain would have cause me problems....
As I end this Beethoven's Egmont Overture is playing..we played a band transcription of it years ago when I played french horn in the high school band..well in practice one day when we got to the final section of the piece..a very loud [FFF] and high part [the A below high/high C]..the horn section decided to stand and go bells up and aim them toward the auditorium..we practiced  on stage..when we were finished we had the chandeliers in the auditorium swinging..unfortunately the high school principle was in the back..and I got told in no uncertain terms never to do that again..in the principle's office I got the blame for it because I was first chair and a known prankster..not the first time I had been "called on the carpet" nor was it the last..I saw no point in telling him it wasn't even my idea..but that I had just gone alone with the suggestion and I wasn't about to give up the 3rd horn..although I did relay the message to the 3rd and the whole section..and told them to check the next time before we did it to see that the principle wasn't in attendance....
   That's it..nothing more for the night..nite all....

[Now Playing:"From Russia with Love" on BBC America]
I've spent most of the afternoon watching first "Dr. No" and now well watching/listening to "From Russia with Love"..but probably will not watch "Goldfinger" ..doesn't start until 20:00 and runs thru 22:30 which is way past my bedtime..I'm not sure exactly why..wasn't a conscious decision but just a routine I fell into but my current schedule is to be up around 04:00 and to bed between 20:30 and 21:00..and so far it's been working out well for me..but I do occasionally miss watching a program on the TV I  enjoy..but if I did stay up to watch I'd probably fall asleep in my recliner anyways..besides..with the way most of the "cable" networks do their scheduling it will probably be on within a day or two at a much more convenient time for  me to watch it....
Except for two trips to the lobby for my breakfast items and this afternoon for toffee coffee I've spent the day in my rooms..it hasn't rained as of yet but the winds have been in the 20 mph range(+/-)..with my balance issues I try to avoid walking under those conditions..just isn't worth the risk....
Nothing earth shattering or of any particular interest has happened today but quite frankly it's the way I have come to prefer it..any excitement or stressful situation can cause my system to "pop" a tremor because of my essential tremors..and when that happens I have little or no coordination with is a real pain in the tuckus..now truth be told I can be a bit of a klutz at times even with  out the tremors help..but not quite as bad....
This just a few issues to resolve so I will bid you a good night....

It was a very nice spring day here in the Northcountry today..and despite that fact I didn't walk..however I did take my folding chair out the backdoor and had a sir-down on the back lawn for about an 1/2 an hour..now according to the advanced forecast the weather will be nice tomorrow until about 16:00 when winds >20 mph are expected and the next decent weather will be Sunday..
but a quick inventory revels that I do have sufficient supplies until then..and yes bananas were counted..so I may or may not walk tomorrow..there are a few things I could pickup at Price Chopper but nothing critical....besides the way the weather changes around these parts..there may be a "hole" in the bad weather before Sunday....
Except for my short sit-down outside I've been in my rooms all day..with the only interruption being the weekly visit from housekeeping..of which I am always thankful..never have been a huge fan of housekeeping..and here it's included in my monthly rent..which I paid for May yesterday..
Have spent the day as I usually do on-line..have watched very little TV today but tomorrow offerings are much better..BBC America is showing.."Dr. No".."From Russia with Love"_ and "Goldfinger"..probably I won't watch the later because It starts at 20:00 local time..and I'm generally in bed by 20:30..and since I've seen it  many times before will probably pass on it..and also the /usual NCIS marathon on the USA network from 08:00 to 20:00..so most likely will do some channel hopping during the day..
Well the  end of my day is fast approaching so will bide you a good night....

As I mentioned last night the rain did dissipate mid-morning to needed quite a few things at Aldi and went over just after 11:00..got almost everything I needed..and yes we have bananas..had a couple of nice chats with a couple of the ladies that work..most of the peeps that work there are very friendly and because I live right across the street under normal circumstances usually are the 3 or so times a week so over time have developed a casual relationship with several of the staff..but of course with the travel restrictions due to the CV-19 deal..my trips have less frequent..and not having been there for a few days I bought more then I normally would..and when I went to put my purchases in my sling back I had quite a time getting everything to fit..but with some doing did manage to get everything in and even get the zipper to close..now I worked in shipping and receiving and if I can't pack something[s] in a given box then you need a bigger box..now one of the things I wanted form Aldi..they didn't have..I've been making my own tomato sauce but it's good but I though something was missing something..and finally remembered my mom always put a bay leaf in her sauce..one of the few common spices I didn't have..so in  the afternoon off to Ollie's got the bay leaves and a bottle of salad vinegar which I was almost out of and a couple packages of cookies at Dollar General..got taking with the store manager..the associate who checked me out was new..and he mentioned that he had hired a couple of new people because two of his former peeps had left because of the stress of working under the current conditions..??..I'm glad I'm retired and wouldn't have to deal with the restrictions at work..according to the ten day forecast after tomorrow which should be a nice day..after that the next day without rain will be Saturday..so probably will be in my rooms until then..
The end of my day is upon me so will say to one and all have a good day/evening/night whichever applies....

It hasn't rained that hard today but it has rained most of the day..now when I checked the forecast yesterday..the rain was predicted to continue thru most of the day tomorrow..so my working plan was to not walk tomorrow but to get the few things I need on Tuesday when the weather is predicted to be sunny and dry..but the forecast is now predicting light and intermittent rain through most of the morning and clearing in the early afternoon..so if that holds to be true..I'll keep an eye on the radar and if there is a "hole" in the storm I'll go to Aldi tomorrow..and then maybe to Price Chopper on Tuesday..after taking the extended walk to both in one trip..I've discovered that the lack of exercise has limited my range..the winter + the restrictions for CV-19..and my legs aren't up to the task as of yet..drives me nuts..but then I remind myself that I am 72 years old and the days I could cover a 20K road course in just over an hour was a long time ago..and then of course there is the cane and the attending balance issues from my essential tremors..but then I never had the personality that would grow old gracefully....
Have spent the day in my fortress of solitude [aka:my rooms]..save for one trip to the vending machines for a soda and the lobby for my afternoon coffee..I've mentioned before that I'm a moderator on the Facebook group "The Farthest Side"..my main function is to check the groups..timeline..likes of new member requests we have certain rules and standards..the major one is no politics..but in the process I am exposed to groups and pages I've never see before and have added some of them to my likes/follows..one today..the guy had as his avatar a character from a 70s movie that I had watch a long time ago..I recognized the character immediately but for the life of me couldn't remember the name of the flick..and later after trying and failing to remember out of the blue..it popped into my mind "A Clockwork Orange"..now I can get it off Youtube for a fee but there are all kind s of free clips..which and sometime in the future I will checkout..memory is a fun thing..sometimes we remember what we'd rather forget and forget want we might want to remember....
But the time grows short and still things to attend to and maybe a sandwich to eat..nite all..

With the high probability that I will be in my rooms until Tuesday..not because of the CV-19 restrictions but because of the pending restrictions imposed by "Mother Nature"..it appears that the Spring rains are upon us..I was reviewing my budget and realized that Monday would be the normal day that I would get my "10-day walking around money" and with the high probability that I will need quiet a few things..I decided to take the short walk up the hill to the ATM..and it gave me great joy to do so in my shirt sleeves..and of course my mask..but since the bank was closed I was well assured that I would encounter no one..In fact the only life form I observed was one of the feral cats that inhabit the surrounding hedgerows and brambles..very thick vegetation mostly bushes and small trees..many of which have very impressive thorns..besides the feral cats and sometimes feral dogs..the area abounds with woodchucks..squirrels..sea gulls in the spring and summer and crows in the winter..ducks..geese and unfortunately skunks..I've also seen white tail deer and a couple of years ago a red fox..and a couple of raccoons..I live on the western edge of a small city..surround by rural areas..and to the south is Beaver Meadow..[aka: a swamp] and a Blue Heron rookery..as for the feral cats and dogs..apparently this is a prime area for people to dump unwanted house pets..oy vey....there is a very good SPCA in the area and there really is no excuse for dumping an unwanted domestic animal..and in years past I got the majority of my cats from them..I'm not able to have pets at present..in fact one of the cats we adopted was evidence in an animal cruelty case..a beautiful pure bred Blue Point Himalayan [link]..she was about 7 years old when we got her and after she realized she was safe..she'd bounce around the house like an 18 lb kitten..I awoke one night to find her curled around my head..how someone could abuse an pet is beyond my ability to comprehend..peeps that abuse animals really makes me angry....

It was a beautiful spring day here in the Northcountry of New York State..the small city I live in is about 20 miles as the crow flies from the east end of Lake Ontario..right off I-81..a day that begged for a long walk from the MadTrollie..and a sit-down in the seating area about halfway thru my preferred loop I often walk..however..I'm trying very  hard to be a responsible citizen during this time of trouble..but it is difficult and puts a strain on my patience..I've often said that I know patience is a virtue..but it's one I neither have nor desire to have..but I didn't walk..but  kept the shades drawn in my rooms most of the day so I wouldn't be tempted....
Thinking of being responsible..the story goes that  this guy was interviewing for a new job and was asked if he was responsible..he replied that he must be..when asked why he replied.."The last job I had every time something went wrong..they said I was responsible"....
I spent a lot of time today re-working my layout on "Trollie's Game Room"..because of the fact that one of my "live" games was off-line..it affected the length of my average post..and I try very hard to keep every part of the layout..the main body and the two side bars as even as possible..I'm a person who believes in an orderly universe..or at least in my small part of it..I've mentioned before that I don't have OCD..but I do have CDO..it's almost the same as OCD but I insist that the letters be in alphabetical order..and I did manage to fix a nagging issue I had..a minor one but it bugged me anyways..so I got it all done..and you guessed it the game came back online..oy vey..ergo..will probably have to tinker with the layout some more....
I seem to be able to weather major issues with no real stress..but it's the little nitpicking ones that drive me nuts..Speaking of which..still a few things to put in order before I take my rest..nite all....

It was a really nice day today..mid-40's..just a light breeze and full sun..and my original intent was not to walk today despite the beautiful weather..and besides that I had pretty much filled the pantry and frig with my outing yesterday..but I had forgotten to check my non-food supplies..and discovered this morning I was low on dish washing detergent..mouth wash and liquid soap..so just a quick walk to  Ollie's..now I've been making my own tomato sauce..and really didn't have a proper container to keep it in..and also found one that I think will do the job at Ollie's....
One thing I failed to mention was when I went to Price Chopper there was a sign on the the door..which read "no enter without mask or a face cover..and I've have noticed that now the majority of people you see in stores are wearing a mask or a bandana covering nose and mouth....but there are still a few who are not..
Now you have to know that I entered junior high in September of 1960..and one of the required courses was a music class..and we learned many songs..many by Stephen Forster..now down ask me why..I honestly don't know but while playing a Hearts sim this afternoon I started to sing "Camptown Races"[link[..but things like that happen to me all the time..I find myself humming or singing both vocal and instrumental parts I've sung/played in choirs..bands..and small groups over my years....But thinking of school I still remember sitting in 10th grade history when the announcement came over the speaker that John F Kennedy had been assassinated..a dark day....And years later while unloading a truck of pallets from a local vendor was told of the attack on the World Trade Center....There are just some things you never forget..some are remembered fondly and others with great sorrow..but both kinds are part of what has made us what we have become....
Still things to do..and a snack to be eaten..nite all....

Originally I had not intended to walk until tomorrow or Friday..but the rain cleared off sooner then predicted..and the wind didn't seem to bad when I started out..and had been thinking of going to Aldi one day and Price Chopper and the convenience store the next day..but quite frankly by mid-morning the weather looked okay..and I hadn't been outside since mid-morning Saturday and 96 some odd hours in my "fortress of solitude" had me pretty much feeling the effects of "cabin fever"..so decided to walk to all three today..now I've done that loop many times before..so was confident that it wouldn't be a problem..when I take that walk I usually head to Price Chopper first but decided to reverse it and go to Aldi first..a decision I would later regret..off to Ollie's for the usual fare..bananas..asparagus..fruit flavored sparkling water..a brick of cheddar..and some butter..and then off to Price Chopper..now I normal do just the reverse..From Price Chopper to Aldi is now a gradual grade w/the wind at my back..but today..I walked up the gradual grade with around a 15 mph wind in my face..it felt like I was trying to scale the Matterhorn..but I survived..barely..at Price Chopper..a piece of horseradish root..3 bulbs of garlic..now my intent was to get some pre-fried shrimp and haddock..but they had no shrimp..so I ended up with a package of haddock and 2 packages of cod..had one of my fav checkout girls..across to the convenience store..talk to the manager for awhile..who I've know for most of the nine plus years I've lived on this end of town..nice lady..and then remembered that the back door to my rooms was not working all the time so went thru the lobby..now my rooms are about as far from the lobby as they could be and still be in the facility..got to my rooms and the dang key cards won't work..had to drag my now weary tuckus back to the lobby to get them re-set..oy vey..but rested for a bit and now all is well....but have all that I need for the next several days..so the trip was a success....

Day 3 sans sticking my nose outside..today was an easy one..if it wasn't raining the wind was blowing in excess 20 mph[32.2 kph]..and with the balance issues that accompany my essential tremors..a high gust of wind can knock me off my feet and I'm way too old and brittle to be doing face plants..and tomorrow USA is airing an NCIS marathon..so that will ease me thru day four..but the weather is at least for now predicted to be reasonable on Thursday thru Saturday..and by that point the cupboard will be getting a little empty..and worse I'll be running out of bananas..haven't mentioned them lately..I actually really am not fond of bananas from either a taste or texture..and season them heavily..but then why you ask me do I eat them..simply put..I dislike charley horses [aka" leg cramp] more..and as a former soccer midfielder and 20K runner I'm particularly prone to them..and the potassium they that is the bananas contain helps to limit they that is the charley horse appearance and severity..my spices of choice for bananas is a combination of fresh cracked mixed pepper corns..black Himalayan sea salt..garlic and rosemary....I also have a glass of either tomato or veggie juice w/horseradish..salt..pepper..hot sauce..and Worcestershire sauce for the same reason..for the potassium..but that I enjoy..but for the last 30 months have left out an ingredient that I used to add..??..[pause]....
I had some day end things to take care of..timed things..usually have have things better arranged but I took a 2-1/2 hour break this afternoon to watch the movie "Shooter" on TNT..so I'm running a little behind on things..still one or more details to "put to bed" for the night and then follow suit and put myself to bed..nite all....

Despite a very inviting day I was a good boy..well that might be a bit of an exaggeration..okay let's try this..I behaved myself today..but I could have behaved very badly and it still would behavior..okay..I listened to my better judgement and didn't walk today..and with the forecast for tomorrow..there is noway unless there was dire emergence I won't walk..maybe in light rain but winds over 20 mph..I got away with it last week but no time soon again..my balance is not what it used to be..and I've re-done my inventory of food stuffs and probably really don't have to walk until Thursday or Friday..and besides USA id showing a NCIS marathon Wednesday so..that's not saying I won't take a stroll around the grounds here..but the plans for the next few days is to abide by the travel restrictions..and stay in my fortress of solitude....
Besides it's not that I've felt sick the last couple of days..I've just not felt quite right..now mind you mentally I've always been not-right..I've always been a little as we would have said back in the day a bit of a rascal..I was both in high school and college a bit of a prankster..okay maybe more than a little..I think both the principal and dean of students had a chair in their offices with my name on..have always had issues with authority..especially from those who thought they have the right to tell me what I should and shouldn't do..and really didn't have the right to do so..I'm a confirmed non-conformist....but I digress..I've just felt a little off physically..now it's not because I'm getting old..I've been old for sometime now..but I fear that it's starting to catch up with me..I've tried to ignore the limitations that age forces on us for a long time but I guess it's  time I just admit it..besides the only cure for getting any old is quite unacceptable....
Anyways..still have a few tasks to take care of and the end of the day approaches..I'm usually up by 04:00 local time..and by 20:00 or so it's time for me to crawl in to my bed..so and therefore..I bid you a goodnight....

After both checking the weather and my supplies on-hand..have sketched out a rough schedule for my walks for the next few days..I originally planned to walk tomorrow when it would be a nice sunny day..and rain on Tuesday..but both Wednesday and Thursday also afford decent weather and my on-hand supplies will last me to either day..ergo..will stay in until either Wednesday or Thursday before venturing out for supplies..on the other hand..I may just take a walk any day that's clear..just to walk and use my normal loop which I have mentioned and described here before..I can both get my exercise and avoid any close contact....
When of my strong suits for many years when my job was to "ride herd" over a very busy at times shipping/receiving/warehousing department of a small factory was to plan and create a schedule..of course there were times that the schedule had to be modified on the fly but to have a base schedule to work from made sure that everything got done..eventually anyways..and that priority items at least would handled on time..and it was the only way to control the stress....which at times was quite intense..and I continue to plan my life in a like manner..because of my essential tremors..which stress can have an adverse effect on..I choice and strive to live in an orderly universe..not always possible..but most of the time I am successful..and a plan is an important element of that process..
Been a busy day of modding on "The Farthest Side" but with a few modifications today's plan did survive..well almost intact..but a few details to complete..ergo..nite all....

With tomorrows weather in mind I decided to walk today..originally I was only planning to go just across the street to Aldi..but since it's in the same direction and just a short detour I decided to stop at Big Lots as well and went by way of one of my short cuts..which with the passing of the snow is now once again passable for a gimpy..grumpy..old man who has balance issues and walks with a cane..been several weeks since my last visit there..earlier this year because of the fact that the snow had blocked my short cuts..and now because I have tried to be a "good boy" and only walk when necessary..now I always try to behave..however sometimes that behavior could be classified as "bad behavior" but from my POV it's still me behaving..didn't get anything at Big Lots save for a can of bean dip..and for a change nothing jumped off the shelves and into my basket..just the usual fare from Aldi..bananas_green onions_liquid egg whites_sparkling water_rolls..and almost forgot_red onions..
And this afternoon..the weather and the restricted movement outside has caused me to spent more time indoors and my joints have stiffen because of the lack of exercise..and because of my age..a long slow walk is my preferred form of it..but the loop I've mention before is isolated enough that I can avoid any close contact..ergo..I walked..the closest I came to any living thing was a guy within my 20 feet and we both were masked..and there were the two ducks swimming on one of the ponds I past..doubt that counts..besides the weather for the next 10 days are forecast to be quite wet..oy vey..and I will continue to walk when able....goodnight to you all....

While vetting new members on FB for "The Farthest Side"..it stuck me how many groups/pages have F-bombs in they titles..reminded me of a dude I worked with many years ago at the plant when I was doing machine maintenance..a machine operator..now this cat I swear only knew one adjective/adverb..very thing was blanking this or blanking that..reminded me of  the parrot I have mentioned before..and I believe the parrot was smarter than this dude..it blows my mind [what little of it I have left] why some peeps can't communicate without profanity..now don't get me wrong I have on the rare occasion have used a few choice words when the situation called for a definitive response..but I don't see a place for it in normal daily language..now the occasion Yiddish or Latin word or phrase I have not issue with..obviously....
That time has come again and I must bid to you a good night....

I don't know what was the immediate cause of the problem but when I awoke this morning both of my hands were extremely stiff and sore..now in point of fact my hands are always a bid stiff and sore just too much damage over the years..but today they were quite uncomfortable..one of  the root causes was an incident when I was in college..[late 1960's]..I played on the college varsity soccer team..one year the new coach wanted at least 3 of us to be able to play goalkeeper..we had two but he was concerned that both could get injured and we'd need a replacement..well I got the nod..to be the so called disaster goalkeeper..and was teased about the fact that I'd probably be a disaster if I had to play..I was a midfielder..anyways I practiced one day a week with the keepers and took my turn in the nets during during the scrimmages..one day..I'm in the nets..a hard shot to my right..dove..knew I wasn't going to be able to catch it..put my hands together fingers extend and with the intent to re-direct it around the post..which I did..but my dive was back towards the goal and all eight of fingers made very hard contact with the 4x4 inch goal post..well I bent back all 8 fingers and sprained both wrists..now I'm seeing stars and tweety birds circling my head..and I had my hands under my armpits..coach and the trainer came a running..I apparently had let out quite a scream..coach said "let me see your hands"..and my reply was "only if you check the ground first in case I knock a couple of them off"..well at least I hadn't lost my bizarre sense of humor..but they were bothering so bad this morning I did something I rarely do..I took a half dose of a generic Tylenol..which did the trick..but the effects are wearing off so I may take another half dose before I take my rest..speaking of which..that my rest not my hands..time to bid you a good night....

What a change in the weather..the last few days the daytime temperatures has been in the mid-40s to a high of upper 50s..when I took my walk this morning the temperature was in the mid-30s and the windchill in the mid-20's..winds in the upper teens with gusts >20 mph..and most of the way to Price Chopper and the convenience store I was waking into the wind..on the other hand because of the bright sun and the CV-19 deal I had both my shades and my mask on..and had the hood up on my Carhart..so at least my face didn't freeze..the main reason for the walk was to pickup my refills for my meds..and I needed to go soon because I was down to three day's supply of the HBP meds..and the weather for the next few days "read" pretty much like today's..got my meds..a nice piece of pre-fried haddock..some anaheim pepper..a bottle of Gatorade zero..two bottle of fruit flavored sparkling water..and 2 packages of microwavable pasta..then a stop at the convenience store to get my chew..the good thing about the walk was on the where back to my lodgings that brisk..cold..headwind..as now a tail wind..a much more pleasant walk..Housekeeping made there weekly Tuesday visit this early after so my rooms are clean and fresh linens are here...
Was thinking today about the my first 20K run [late 1960's]..started south of Binghamton NY..went through the city and ended at rural church to the north..first race..pre-race nerves..forgot to empty my bladder..halfway through the run..in the commercial district and "Huston we have a problem"..found a spot between two railroad bridges where I could take care of the problem unseen..ran about 20 meters..right turn..a water stop "manned" by Girl Scouts"..oy vey..couldn't help myself but busted out laughing..they must of thought I was bonkers..had a similar experience in a cross-country race but that's for another time....

The weather didn't meet the hype..yes we did get some rain and yes the winds were >20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph..but if there were any T-storms they  missed us..didn't even hear ant thunder nor saw any lightening....
According to the 5 day forecast basically if you look at tomorrow's weather you are also looking at the forecast for the rest of the week thru Saturday..typical Spring weather here in the Northcountry..or as we said back in the day..kite flying weather....
There was a "hole" in the storm between 09:00 and 10:30..but the wind was still howling..and generally I won't walk when the wind exceeds 20 mph..with my balance issues from the essential tremors it makes me very unstable..well physically anyways..as to my mental stability..depends on who you ask..but I needed some supplies from both Aldi..Price Chopper..&..the convenience store..and had planned to do the to later stops tomorrow and had been considering doing all three..didn't want to..it's a long hike..but when I saw the radar and that "hole" in the rain decided to go to Aldi today..was against my better judgement..but then it's not the first time I've done that..no close calls so all went well..This afternoon I decided to get my "10 day walking around money" early..I have to pick up my meds tomorrow at Price Chopper and decided I needed a little more cash on hand..although I do have a debit card [will never have a credit card again]..I'd rather pay cash for almost everything..so just took a quick walk up the hill to the ATM....
The rest of the day has been spent as I usually do..almost every thing is wrapped up but still a couple of strays..and a snack will need attention..ergo..nite all....

I had been looking for one of my pairs of scissors for the last couple of days..I had three pair..2 "kitchen scissors" and one just general purpose..which were the ones I couldn't find..now the last time I remembered using them was when I used them when I converted an old baseball cap into a mask..I mentioned that in a post a couple of days ago..I concluded that what must have happened was when I picked up the pieces I removed from the hat and threw them out the scissors must have been inadvertently throw out as well..it was the only logical explanation....
Needed a few bits and pieces at Dollar General..I would have liked to walk to Aldi which I had planned to do tomorrow...but with the weather..but they were closed for Easter..so will do that Tuesday weather permitting..so donned my mask and off I went this mid afternoon..tomato juice, a box of brownies..a couple of cherry pocket pies and a new pair of scissors....
After I got back I decided to make one of my liquid egg white frittata..and use the last of the asparagus which I had in the frig..I had keep it in a gallon zip-lock bag because of the length of the spears..well when I dumped them out of the bag unto the chopping board along with the asparagus came the missing scissors..obviously the mask wasn't the  last time I had used them..they were apparently laying on the table that I use to prepare my meals and had been gathered up when I re-packed the veggies..so much for my logical explanation..oy vey..despite my best intentions some times I can be an incredible dummkopf....

Nothing playing on MadTrollie tonight unless someone else is..my channel is public after all..as I write this I'm listening/watching "Justice League" on the TBS network..of all the superhero movies..the only two I really enjoy or would watch again are this one and the first Avengers..and maybe the first of the X-Men..now truth be told I did read the Superman comics when I was a kid..never really bought one but would read them while with by dad in the barbershop..actually I was more a fan of Mad Magazine..as far as those types of reading are concerned..I've always preferred non-fiction to fiction any day..and even if I do read fiction it would fall into the category of historical fiction..things like the Hornblower series and Advise and Consent books..et al....
Only "stuck" my old grey head out of my rooms once today to get some coco and sat out briefly on one of the benches..besides that I have spent the day until now online..I do plan on walking either tomorrow or Tuesday..I need to stop at the pharmacy at Price Chopper to pickup refills for my meds..only two this time..Doc took me off one of them..
Have spent some of the day re-working my layout on "Trollie's Game Room"..and am thinking of doing a major overhaul there..but it would be a massive task..and not sure if I really want or for that matter need to do it..probably will just make changes in degrees..no major changes here but then I may wake up tomorrow..??..but ore probably just a occasional adjustment..although I didn't have internet access for about 5 years in the middle of it..this blog has been online since October of '02..

No "Now Playing on MadTrollie" tonight..BBC America has been playing a Bond marathon all day and except for my Doc's appointment..and one that I really don't care for have been binging on Bond movies..James Bond..most of the day..the ones they're showing have been the older ones with Connery or Moore as Bond..
It was lightly snowing when I left for my Doc's appointment..and with the fact that rain was also possible..rather then layer as I would normally do for a day in the mid to upper 30s..decided to break out the Carhart..which I usually reserve for much colder weather..but it's also water resistant and with the uncertainty of the forecast thought that was the best possible choice..appointment went well..and I have my next once set for mid-October..but although on the other side of the street I had to pass by Aldi both coming and going..and had taken my sling bag with me..and had planned to do my shopping tomorrow but had given myself the option to stop on the way back..weather permitting..and although the wind had picked up a little..no snow..no rain..so picked up what I  would have gotten tomorrow..probably will stay in tomorrow..will need to go to Price Chopper pharmacy sometime next week to re-fill my meds..and take the opportunity to pick up a few groceries..

Sometimes I think that somebody is out to get me..first..I had a Doc's appointment scheduled for tomorrow..nothing special..just my regular 6 month appointment..and with the CV-19 deal I figured that the appointment would be rescheduled for a later date..and after I saw the weather forecast for tomorrow..light snow changing to mixed with rain to rain..I was not displeased..but just to be sure I called the Doc's office this morning..and you guessed it..he's still seeing patients..now I could have rescheduled..but it's less than a quarter mile walk..and I have some foul weather gear..so..I will go and keep my 09:00 appointment..but..oy vey....with any kind of luck it won't be that bad..but there again with my record with luck..'Those who are about to get soaked salute you"....
Did take a quick walk early this afternoon..I was almost out of butter cookies..I wanted another hat to possibility convert to another mask..got the butter cookies and a utility knife [to ease the possible modification] at Ollie's and the hat and 2 packages of snicker doodles..if i'm going to be spending time in my rooms due to the CV-19 restrictions..I must have the necessaries of life..now if I don't modify the new hat I  can use it to replace the old one to preform it's intended purpose..to keep my "monk spot" from getting sunburned....
Have spent the day as I always do..online..while checking the TV schedule discovered that BBC America is showing a marathon of "James Bond" movies..the older ones..I'll miss part of one or two for my appointment but will do a little binge watching thereafter..if somebody wants to keep me in my rooms all that is needed is to show a continual stream of the older "Bond" movies....
Still a few things to do..and I'll be running up against my 8 hour WiFi window..I get my WiFi free but have to enter a password every 8 hours..and I don't like to re-enter late in the day because it masses up my morning start times on my live games..but probably will anyways...time is upon  me so as is my custom I wish one and all a goodnight....

I am on my second day of semi-hibernation..aka: I have limited my time outdoors to either a stroll around the grounds of where I live or a "sit-down" in my folding chair..physically I fell fine..not sighs of flu like symptoms..well other then the aches and pains of the aftermath of playing sport with far too much enthusiasm than was wise and 35 years on a cement factory floor and uncountable hours drive an 4 ton indoor forklift..and loading thousands of trucks and oversea containers..but internally all the plumbing is still in pretty good shape..for a young kid of 72 years old..but I will still walk but only for essentials..I prefer to include fresh food in my diet..and have plenty of canned and packages food for a few weeks..and besides Aldi is right across the street and Price Chopper is not that much further..and I can always order delivery..some of the  local restaurants are offering free delivery so there is always that option..even Olive Garden so I could get a salad if I wanted.. with that in mind last night after posting here I took the very short walk..maybe 50 yards one-way..up the hill to  my banks ATM and withdrew a few extra dollars from my checking account....
I have been using a bandana for a mask when I walk..well I saw something online and went digging on Youtube..and found a video on how to covert a baseball cap into a mask..and as it so happens I had an old cap that I rarely worn laying around..and now have a DIY mask..for those interested go here....
I do have my 6 monthly check-up with the Doc scheduled this Friday..just routine but I would not be the least surprised with that was postponed..because I am with in the above stated parameters in good health..but we shall see..

It's been an interesting day..have only been out out of my rooms twice..here a strange sound while sitting at my computer desk..first though it was in the rooms somewhere..a few months ago mt HVAC unit made from very weird sounds and then gave up the ghost and expired..and I now have a rebuilt unit..so I walked over to check it and the further I got from my door..unit is on the far wall..the sound I heard diminished..ah it's in the hall..opened the door and sure enough just up the hall the maintenance man was assembling so furniture with a hand held drill..mystery sound identified..and later went up too get my afternoon toffee coffee..which regrettably was out..so ended up with a regular coffee..but it being not a bad day weather wise an to pay my respects to the "stay at home" edict..well suggestion really..I didn't take my usual afternoon walk around the loop I usual use..but rather\than take the halls..I took the route thru the parking..and felt "cooped up" and needed some fresh air....
For  a change there was actually something decent to watch on the old boob tube..TNT was showing the movie "Shooter"..it's a good flick and although I've seen it many times and could probably recite most of the dialogue by heart I still enjoy watching it..did I mention that Kate Mara..I know..but the day I stop watching and appreciating the ladies is the day they nail the lid over my head...ergo I basically took the afternoon off from my usual online activities and sat and watched the whole movie start to finish..something I rarely do..most times I just swivel the screen so I can see it from my desk..and listen and 1/2 watch....
The weather for both Monday and Tuesday are forecast to be very nice later winter/earl spring days and I most likely will check my pantry and walk to Aldi one of those days..probably Tuesday..rain predicted for Wednesday..but I will at least wear my mask..and walk early..and if I feel the need just roam the grounds of the hotel I live in....

It actually was a decent day weather wise today..for a late winter early spring day..I needed a few things at Aldi and after checking the pantry formerly designated "winter" but now designate "corona-virus"..I decided that I could use a couple more "heat and serve" meals..so along with the usual bananas\, butter, and fruit flavored sparkling water..added a package of smoked knockwurst, a can of chill and 2 cans of beef stew..not my usual fare..I  prefer fresh food..but it doesn't keep forever and canned goods do..and I wanted to extend my day's of food to a minimum of 2 to 3 weeks..there's always delivery and both Price Chopper and Aldi provides that service..as well as a majority of the restaurants and fast food places in town..and I will probably at some point use those options..if the current situation continues for an extend period of time..and when I walk I do wear a bandana as a mask..but I do observe the only when necessary edict..which bums me out a little..in decent weather it  has been my custom to take a late afternoon or evening walk..and although from my POV I consider that "necessary" but I doubt the authorities would agree..I could always walk the halls here as I do in winter when walking outdoors is not an option..or I could and probably restrict my walk to the parking lot and lawns of the hotel I live in..and easily avoid any human contact..although I can't rule out the possibility of a confrontation with a Canada goose or geese....
For the time being I will behave myself and stay in except if necessary..but on the other hand I always behave..sometimes I have behaved very badly..but that is still behaving..but as I get older..the occuranses of bad behave have drastically been reduced..have to..I don't run very fast anymore [hehe]..both in high school I was a well known prankster..I think I had a designated chair in both the offices of the principle and later the dean of students..but never at work..

It's been kind of a frustrating day..I general play on the free Poker site i frequent..like every day..one of the first things I do after rolling out of bed..but today there access issues..they've happen before from time to time but thankfully are infrequent..but today took me several ties and was almost 3 hours after my first attempt before I could "sit down" at a "table"..i spent the intervening time playing the other non-live games I play..but I prefer an orderly universe and have a pretty set in stone routine I follow..I usual play the games I play in a set order..and I must admit to a little annoyance when it's interrupted..after all I'm just a gimpy, grumpy. old codger who's set in my ways....
Did walk today..Price Chopper..but I did take precautions..I've taken to wearing a mask when I go for my walks..I was looking for what we called back in the day rubbing alcohol to use as a disinfectant..they have an in-store pharmacy..and to my great surprise they don't carry it..there is a Walgreen's in the area but it's a fair piece away..and I wasn't prepared to take that hike today..maybe next week..got some italian peppers, some shallots, and some heat and serve meal options..which are usually keep as part of my winter pantry..in case weather is such that getting out isn't possible..in this case for the near future it will be temporarily known as my corona-virus pantry..while picking out my peppers I spotted a type I've heard about but have never seen them available in-store..Anaheim chili peppers..bought a couple and used one today..definitely will get them again when available..
Only have one last thing to take care of on Poker..and a last look at "The Farthest Side"..but I sense there's a before bedtime snack in my immediate future so will say good night to one and all....

I had the chance to preform the Faure Requiem several years ago with the Northcountry Choral Society..one of my favorite pieces of liturgical music..and yes it has a really great tenor part..but to me it had a special meaning besides the music..we were accompanied by a small orchestra..and one of the french horn players was my daughter when she was still in high school..she went on to study music at Syracuse University and became a music teacher....
I had a talk with the manager here this morning who is well read in infectious diseases..and I inquired whether he knew any place locally where I could get a couple of masks..he did not..but..told me how to use and clean a simple bandana [dang..another word spell check doesn't know] for that purpose and it can be fairly effective..dang I thought that the only uses for them were blowing your nose, sweat bands and robbing stagecoaches..ergo..on the walk mentioned below and used one..never can be too careful..when it comes to viruses....
Went looking for more bandanas and alcohol..no not the drinking kind the disinfecting kind..look at both Ollie's and Dollar General  and came up empty..but plan to go to Price Chopper tomorrow or the day after and the indoor pharmacy will have the alcohol..as to the bandanas I went "digging" thru my dresser drawers and found several I had forgot about..they have been hand washed in antimicrobial soap..and ready for use..but still would like the alcohol to use as well....
Besides the walk have spent the day in my rooms and online..nothing of any interest to me on the TV today..but Friday and Saturdays fare looks some better..only one last thing to do before I can take my rest and that happens just past the bottom of this hour..so to one and all..I say Good-Day....

It was a high sky as we used to say back in the..just a hint of clouds at the horizon..but the temperature was in the mid-30s..and a brisk breeze but with the sun out in it's fullness was a pleasant day for a walk..left just after 09:00 and to my surprise after the last few days Aldi's wasn't that busy and with a few minor exceptions..were fully stocked..original all I needed were a bananas, some fruit flavored sparkling water, and a brick of cheddar..and decided if they had any left to get a round of the good English cheddar to keep as a "backup"..but spotted a bag of hummus chips..flavored with feta..garlic & herbs..now I have a long dislike of chickpeas from my childhood..there were always in the canned three bean salad with green and yellow beans both I really like..but the chickpeas always ended up in the bottom of the bowl un-eaten..but here a month or so ago I tried hummus and enjoy it..so the chips made with some chickpea flour intrigued me..so I bought a bag and was quite pleased..they will be added to the list of buys....also walk my late afternoon/early evening loop just after 14:00..by the then the clouds had started to move in but was lower 40s and only a moderate breeze..
USA has been showing an NCIS marathon all day and for a change most of them were ones I enjoy..so while not exactly binging I did watch of and on for most of the day..and didn't play as much online..and we have a couple of new moderators on "The Farthest Side"..so the "work load" had been shared and has not taken as much of my time that has been taking of late..I enjoy doing it but would like to spend a little less time on it..speaking of which still one or two things to do before I take my rest so I will say to one and all..good nite....
