nice late winter day, worked briefly this morning, stopped on the way home to get afew things at the store and they had mangos at a good price, lovely, sweet mangos....one of my favorite fruits. just found this when checking the plural....i'll be danged....

cash'ew fam"ily
the plant family Anacardiaceae, typified by trees, shrubs, or vines having resinous and sometimes poisonous juice, alternate leaves, small flowers, and a nut or fleshy fruit, and including the cashew, mango, pistachio, poison ivy, and sumac.

well you learn something new everyday....or at any rate you should
spent most of the day watching the matchplay golf......not the final tomorrow i would have liked but should be interesting....busy day tomorrow.......nite all

another mild day, mid 30'sF but was down near 0 over night.......the forecast is for warmer weather over the weekend...i'd like to think that winter is over and we';; have an early spring but after living up here for almost 38 years i know better, while it is possible that winter has basically run it's course i've seen it snow 18" overnight in april...so i'm not counting my chickens before they hatch...or rather counting on playing golf much before mid-april......not a bad day at work but will have to work maybe 3 or 4 hours tomorrow to wrap up inventory....usually i have til the end of monday after monthend to get my sheets in but they need them by 10 AM this month....and i know already that i have 1 in bound and 2 out bounds monday AM sooooooo.......get it done tomorrow......am very tired tonight so i'm going to throw in early and go off to dream land.......nite all

just got done watching survivor, and i must say that i'm not the least bit disappointed with today's result.....oh i found the jack stands i was missing.....the snow banks melted a little and i discovered one sticking out of a bank....apparently when they plowed over the weekend they didn't see them and just plowed them up with the snow....oy vey...i think that i've run out of resistance to the cold for this winter....it really wasn't that bad today....high 30'sF but i got so cold this morning....really felt as cold as i have on days when it really was cold....3 hours in the unheated warehouse and i was froze....it's been colder so i guess i've just run out of resistance to it....well spring is around the corner....spent a quiet night....busy day tomorrow....last day before month end....need to hit the ground running......

Wednesday, February 25, 2004

i really do think i'm going around the bend, i thought i posted last night.....nah.......not a bad day.....it's been in the high 20's low 30'sF most of the week, and compared to what it's been it really is mild....almost warm....and spring is just around the corner, but weird things have been happening....silly little things....last friday a wheel choke just disappeared from work....well that i can half understand, althought built for a truck tire it would work for a car tire ....or a door stop (for a very big door).....but yesterday 2 jack stands for placing under a spotted trailer ( oops...one parked at a dock with the tractor gone, used to hold the trailer up if the dollys fail) came up missing.....now they are only good for well what they were made for....can't figure out why anyone would want them.......and it's not even a full moon.....

Monday, February 23, 2004

another mild day today, but slept very poorly last night, woke up several times alternating between being soaked to the skin from sweating or totally chilled, the one time i was so cold i grab a portable heater ( a cat ) and used a little shared bodily warmth...i don't know if i'm coming down with something or what but my internal heat control seems to be messed up.....took the afternoon off ....and just kicked back...feel fine now......weird.........

Sunday, February 22, 2004

woke up to a little fresh snow this morning but just looked at the car from the kitchen window, maybe a inch....fussed around and left the house a bit on the late side and then realized they had scraped the street and there was to much in the end of the drive to drive thru, so shoveled quick and got out, my car although it handles very well in snow is very low slung, and any height of packed snow (like the end of the drive after they plowed) and you run the risk of getting hung up, not stuck as in wheels spinning but hung up as in packed snow under frame, not fun, so will avoid that at all costs......busy but enjoyable day....headed for bed...night all

Saturday, February 21, 2004

another mild day, but the footing was a bit difficult, it had melted a bit yesterday, but froze overnight so that everything was pretty iced over this morning, made walking an adventure, and with my knees not being up to par, i have to pay particular attention....didn't sleep quite as late as i would have liked but the cats staged an over the top battle royale on my bed about 7:30.....first day in quite awhile that i didn't need to go to work......ran some errands but basically just relaxed all day and let the stress level drop....after the absolute mess friday was it was pretty well pegged.....but feel pretty good mentally tonight...have played a little blogshares tonight and am headed for bed....need to stop in at work tomorrow briefly before heading to church......
spent some time while i was out checking out the golf equipment at dick's sporting goods....yah i know there is still a foot+ of snow on the ground but i have played as early as the end of march so it's time to start checking out the new equipment for this year....besides they some times have sales during march so just getting ready....although there is nothing i actually need.....but that's never stopped me from buying something in the past so why change........night all

Friday, February 20, 2004

weather was mild again but the day.....well it's the stuff that they could make a horror picture out of....got a load in first thing....30 gaylords of resin ( gaylord: a big box on a pallet that holds about 1400 lbs of plastic pellets)....well the load had shifted and one of the boxes had dumped, spreading 1400 lbs of plastic pellets all over the truck....about 4 hours later we finally got the mess cleaned up and the truck unloaded...usually about a 45 minute unload.....well it also interfered with a couple of outbounds and i ended up with a headache that would kill one of my cats...And that was just the worst of a whole flock of problems....the good news is i don't have to go in at all tomorrow and get to not set the alarm for the first time in about 3 weeks......i have no pressing reason to get out of bed tomorrow and may not......

Thursday, February 19, 2004

weather was mild again today....well at least for this time of year, forgot to mention yesterday that i took a bad step and sprained my knee, it's a very easy thing to do, i hit it an almost uncountable number of times playing sports when i was younger and it goes from time to time, decided to give it a break and since i have a lot of back time to burn off took the afternoon off.....but kind of lost the afternoon....really can;t remember sitting here what i really did, but whatever it was it was cool because i feel a lot better, played some blogshares tonight but it's been a little slow.....my style of game plays better when there is heavy activity and since the shutdown/restart it's been a little slow coming back...and t'was thursday so i watched survivor....busy day tomorrow so night all.....

Wednesday, February 18, 2004

weather wise was not a bad day today, temperature was in the high 30'sF and wasn't damp....but i spent way too much time with my butt in the seat of a forklift and i'm very stiff and sore tonight.....day got crazy towards afternoon and tomorrow will be another beaut.....
i find that everytime i get a mild case of the flu (like i have know) it seems to interfere with my ability to focus.....attention span is also affected.....and have trouble putting rational thoughts together....of course it may also be lately that i'm just plain stressed out....need to get a chance to take a few days off in a row and unwind but with the pace at work for the next couple of months that doesn't appear to be on the horizon......but spring is around the corner.....and the prospect of getting out and chasing golf balls....

Tuesday, February 17, 2004

i slept very fitfully last night and woke this morning feeling very punk....lousy....awfully....but thought that if i got going i'd feel better...well i got to work and got going and discovered i was wrong really felt even worse....so i'm trying to get things arrange so i could get out of there and just nothing was falling into place and the more annoyed i got with it the better i felt....i guess all i really needed was to get my dander up and i was cured.......
good rehearsal tonight, we're braking in a new singer and i think that she will work out really well....a different sound but a good one ......busy day tomorrow so i'm off

Monday, February 16, 2004

i woke up this morning really feeling punk (old usage of the term ask your father)....which really didn't surprise me as i felt pretty lousy last night....got what i absolutely had to at work and left early, took a half day vacation.....feel better now but still haven't really snapped out of it......spent most of the afternoon watching an American chopper marathon on discovery....i think my major problem is that i'm just stressed out, that an a case of cabin fever.....just has been a very cold winter and i want to be warm......

Saturday, February 14, 2004

i've decided that the place i work is not a job, it's flypaper, i went in this morning for an hour to put the fridays production numbers into the system, well 2-1/2 hours later i get out of there.......i go in and i get stuck there....
in and out of the car today and was listening to the first movement of the mozart requiem...don't have the k number handy but it was the piece he was working on at the time of his death, just brilliant......i especially like the kyria.....just lovely
have just basically hung out, watched a little tube and played some blogshares today....
need to go into work tomorrow morning and as sunday is always a full day will call it an early night....
not unexpectedly the spell check had a cow on the latin "kyria".......trollie wonders if i could blow it up if i used pig latin.....

Friday, February 13, 2004

you know i think i'm finally headed over the edge, either that or oldtimers is catching up with me, i could have sworn that i posted yesterday, i thought i did, heck i even remember (i thought) what i posted......( loud buzzer)....guess again......
not a bad work day but have to put in a brief appearance tomorrow and maybe sunday...shipping/receiving has nothing shaking tomorrow but i got some inventory/order things that need to be done.....soooooooooo........
have just kicked back tonight....played a little blogshares....watched a little tube.....watched the monster garage on discovery.....neat show....i'm not a motor head but i am a puzzlesolver and the show appeals to me on that level....
i've been thinking of doing a little "urban renewal" on this slag heap that i call a blog but just don't have the heart to change it....or maybe it's just lazy.....
off to surf....nite all......

Page 2 - part 2 of the article i posted a link to last night and sports/religion
a very strangeday, everything went the way i planned it, a very busy day but got tons done as it actually ran smooth.....well the odds were with me....after 32+ years of working for the same company you should have at least one day the runs good, but i now understand my weird dream last night, it it this guy dressed all in red with a trident and a forked tail came up to me and said "trollie it finally froze"........i mean really....i won't lie about something like that.....would eye......which reminds me about a joke about the fact that "would i " and "wood eye" sound the same but i will not tell that joke here.......
physically felt pretty good today....had a couple of rough days but fee fine today...how be it a bit tired....have a busy 2 days ahead.....off to surf......

Monday, February 9, 2004

i got a rather nasty surprise this AM....i woke up about 3:30 with a dull throbbing pain in my left ankle...to discover that my achilles' tendon was basically stiff as a board....now i pulled it years ago playing soccer( yes i know in most of the world it's football but i learned the game as soccer)....but as long as i avoid high cut shoes it usually behaves itself...well i have no idea what i did to set it off but anyhow it was really sore....i took a couple of IB's this morning a put some hot stuff on it and even at that it took about 4 hours for it to loosen up to the point where walking wasn't a painful thing to do...it feels a little better tonight but i'm afraid that it will probably tighten up again.....it's really a drag getting old.....was watching the westmiester dog show on the tube but the groups i really like are all on tomorrow so i think i'll take a couple more IB's and head to bed....night all

Sunday, February 8, 2004

just kind of a blah day weatherwise....not really cold but obviously not warm....no new snow to speak of...just a nothing winter day.....went into work for an hour and that started a day (at 8 AM) then ended about 9:00 PM......just hectic day......an enjoyable day but i'm tired......and need some rest......nothing to say but night all

Saturday, February 7, 2004

Chapin Watermatics Inc. - Drip irrigation systems for greenhouse and field crop micro irrigation applications. i mentioned work below, thought i might as well link to the company's web page........
it was warmer thursday and we got some freezing rain as well in the evening, was slippery yesterday and got light snow over night, just enough to hide the ice but not enough to bury it so it was very slippery today and you couldn't tell until you step on it that it was there....almost took a header a couple of times.....i am more then ready for spring and nice weather but here in the northcountry we can expect the nasty stuff until the end of march and even into april some years.....as if i need something else to add to my already busy sunday i have to go into work briefly(i hope briefly) tomorrow.....i think i mentioned that for the next several weeks production will be working 24/7....we are flooded with orders ( i guess i should explain that i work for a company that makes irrigation equipment) and need the extra production time....i don't work in production but in a support area and so i can get what i absolutely need to do on a non-shipping day done in a short time ( or at least in theory).......time to start thinking about calling it a night......

Friday, February 6, 2004

apparently blogger has changed it's login defaults....used to be that if you signed in once and checked remember me you were automatically on without ever having to re-log....but there is now apparently a time limit....a week maybe....Because i've had to re-log for two straight fridays....oh well....don't see the reason but .....(trollie scratches head and moves on)
frustrating day....found an inventory glitch which i can't figure out....Have no dang idea of where it came from or where the missing material went.......and it's not like somebody could walk off with a couple of 1 ton pallets....obviously an entry or math error but for the life of me i can't find it.....
need to work briefly both tomorrow and sunday as with production now working 24/7 there are inventory concerns that need to be dealt with on a daily basis.....
got home late this evening , had a late load so the evening has been a little off....never ate dindin til almost 6 so was starving and probably ate to much so now i feel pretty loggie........oops....sluggish would probably be a more universally recognizable term......was warm (high 30'sF) and rainy all day which has got be stiff as a board....my arthritis does not respond well to this kind of weather....from my perspective....from the arthritis's perspective it probably loves this weather because it been raising hob with me all day.......night all

Thursday, February 5, 2004

i have often used the tag line " no good deed every goes unpunished"....and today was a further proof of it's truth, i went in early so i could get a load out by 8 AM so the driver could make the 4 PM gate closing at the pier (about a 6 hour trip)....so we get a call that he had a blowout on the way and missed the closing and to make matters worst told his company that he had the blowout because he was overloaded and i had put 50000 Lbs. on the container.....about 45000+/- would be max..........fortunately i have a load sheet that shows the weight of the shipment by scale weight at 40097 lbs. but that not really the point, i get up early, bust my rump to get the load out on time and we miss the gate anyways....rats......

Wednesday, February 4, 2004

up this morning early, knew i had to shovel....and wet snow at that but apparently the last little bit of precip we got was freezing rain because there was a nasty hard crust on the snow......ended up getting everything that needed to get done today done early and took the AM off, i'll have to make an appearance both saturday and sunday(probably) as production is 24/7 for the next 2 or 3 months.....we are way behind....have a lot more orders then what we expected.....not a bad thing of course but does make things hectic....plus have to go in an hour early tomorrow to get a load on it's way for a late gate at the pier.....have just hung out today after work and feel pretty good....finally am over most of the effects of the cold i had.....must have been colder then i realized last night because i awoke this morning to find a ball of cat on the end of my bed....if they hadn't been of different colors you would not have been able to figure out where one started and the other stopped.....night all

Tuesday, February 3, 2004

was a strange day weather wise, got into the mid to high 30'sF this morning, started to rain this afternoon and at night fall changed to wet snow, we've got maybe 4-6" and possibly more to come....fortunately it changed right from rain into snow without the interim freezing rain......we've had 2 major ice storms in the last 15 years and they are no fun......to lose electricity in the summer is a pain, but in the winter it's down right dangerous,
very busy day at work and just didn't feel like going out tonight but did go to rehearsal and had a blast....feel much better now mentally but am still very tired....will have to get up early tomorrow to shovel so will call it a night early.......

Monday, February 2, 2004

alright...alright....it's just possible that trollie was born yesterday.....but not this morning.....a mean really "a wardrobe malfunction"....pleazzzzzzzz!!!!!!!!.....i can see it now.....man in yellow raincoat before judge......"but sir i didn't mean to expose myself to all those people i had a wardrobe malfunction".........and the emmy for best display of a tit during a super bowl 1/2 time.....the envelope please........(dumb roll ( and no i didn't misspell it))
was cold this AM but warmed up nicely to mid 20'sF by afternoon and it's supposed to stay in that temperature range for the next few days.....a welcome relief from the bitter cold of the last several weeks.....work was hectic again today and should be wild most of the week.....i've got one of my trailers in for repair so it will make the logistics interesting ( read for interesting argh!!!!!!!!!!!)
was sitting watching TV last night munching potato chips and my one cat kept crying for her's, this crazy beast loves potato chips....nacos and most of all french fries....now i've had cats who would eat almost any thing that was meat/fish/cheese....but potatoes??????......
i'm tired ( so what's new )....night all.....
