   Today is Memorial Day in the USA..It began in 1868 to honor those who had died in the American Civil War & was called Decoration Day..over the years all causalities of war & all veterans were added to those to be honored & was held on May 30th every year..the name was changed to "Memorial Day" in 1967 & moved to the last Monday in May in 1968..from 1961>1965 as a member of my high school I participated in Parades & memorial services in the local cemeteries..& was honored to do so..despite the fact that it meant marching in hot weather in wool West Point style uniforms with high collars..& I tend under such conditions to sweat profusely..but all four of my uncles & my dad were veterans of WWII..but I fear as time has past many people only view it as the first 3 day weekend in the warmer weather..../....because of the area we lived in then & where I live now the weekend was always the time that we would plant our gardens..by that time the chance of a frost were minimal..../....Had the majority of my online day done by just before 12:00 took a walk just before noon & when I got back since I didn't intend to buy anything today sat down to do the daily budget numbers & realized tomorrow would be the day for my run to the bank for my "10 day walking around money" so took the short walk up to the ATM & took care of it today.../....just before taking my shower & taking of the meds had me a nice sit-down in the shade of "ye olde oak tree"..started a draft to "Trollie's  Game Room"..check weather..& sat down to write this post..nothing left to do before I take my rest save a final check-in on my FB groups..a meal & maybe a little TV..ergo.."nite all"....[18:58 UTC-4]..../....

   I'm sitting here this evening as 5:30 local time approaches trying to make some sense of my day & finding it difficult..due in part to a short but very successful session on "Pokerist" I was done with most of the day's online tasks by just after 09:00 & hadn't eaten first meal yet..so decided to take a quick walk to Ollie's..just some balsamic vinegar..now for some un-explainable reason I thought it was Saturday & not Sunday..dummkopf..they don't open until 10:00 on Sunday..got there and rather than go back to my rooms walked the loop in the reverse direction..had a sit-down got some paper bowls & a package of red pens at Dollar General and then at 10:00 2 bottles of balsamic vinegar..the regular kind & a bottle of golden balsamic..more the color of a regular vinegar but an interest & different taste..got back to my rooms & started to put my purchases away & then the "fun" began..I was transferring some liquid into a squeeze bottle..had a tremor & knock the bottle over with liquid going everywhere..klutz..by the time I got the mess taken care of I never ate 1st meal until 10:30..../....was done with all my online gaming & decided to take another walk..then back to the room & my daily shower & taking of the meds..& went looking for a pair of shorts I usually wear in the evening in the warmer weather once I'm in for the night ..what we called back in the day Bermuda shorts..yup..couldn't find them..after sometime looking for them found  them in a drawer where I only keep shirts..oy vey..../....but somehow I have survived the day..still haven't eaten 2nd meal..although I have been munching a sweet & salty nut bar as I write this post..will forget 2nd meal & have an extended evening meal..../....except for that nothing on the tube tonight so will probably start a draft for a posting to "Trollie's Game Room" & then to bed..provided I can find it..been one of "those" days..ergo.."night all"....[17:44 UTC-4]..../....

   I'm sitting here freshly showered..meds take & except for my evening meal everything else is done..../....got up right around 04:00 & was online just before 04:00 & off to play "Pokerist" a weird session..I needed 8 "qualifying hands to complete the two "Quests" I wanted..only won 9 hands in 37 minutes played but made all 8 of the necessary hands..??..& even with a walk about 09:00 to Aldi..just the usual fare was basically all done for the day by 12:00 with the only thing left to do were play sim&solitaire on "24/7 Games.com"&"Just Solitaire that I always play in the afternoon..had my traditional mid-day sandwich..today some nice hard salami & prosciutto w/a small bowl of tuna/pasta salad & a Dr Pepper..& then off to the games..done by just before 15:00..and off on an afternoon walk..as i walked thru the plaza parking lot just down the hill from my digs by a small drainage pond..which the Canada Geese have claimed as their own I encounter about 12 adults & too my goslings to get an accurate count blocking my short cut to the sidewalk on the east side of Western Blvd..took a slight evasive path and continued my walk..with extra diligence because the geese had left multiple "calling cards" on the sidewalk..which I took care not to trod on..first to "Dollar Tree"..didn't find anything that I just had to have..then T J Maxx..got a bottle of Sweet Ginger Chili sauce..was almost out of a similar brand..a quick taste back in my rooms..like even better than the other brand..on the way back again evaded both the geese & the afore-mentioned calling cards..the geese were in tall grass so I gave up even trying to get an estimated count on the goslings..a quick stop at Dollar General but found nothing..& back too my rooms..started some drafts on "Trollie's Game Room" & sat down to write this posting..off to prepare my evening meal..ergo..night all....[19:07 UTC-4]..../....

   It started raining mid-morning  & continues still..got a pretty typical start to the day & because of a very short session on "Pokerist(17 minutes)  not only was done with my day's gaming but had every thing set-up for tomorrow as well by 12:00..took a break for my traditional sandwich mid-day meal but instead of the usual ripple chips had a small bowl of a tuna pasta salad that I had made last night..I get the bag of microwaveable pasta..not bad..some tuna..green olives..red onion & a chopped up boiled egg..spices & mayo..and then off to start play on "24/7 Games.com" & "Just Solitaire" which will be posted tomorrow with tomor-rows results from "Pokerist"..& was done with that just after 15:00 & had been cooped up in my rooms all day..took a look out-side..was it raining..well Wilbur..it depends on your definition of rain..I'd call it a mist with the occasional drop hitting the ground ..ergo..on with the rain gear & down the hill to Dollar General..got a couple of apple pocket pies..a bag of ripple chips,,&..I had made some pink salmon spread this morning..salmon packed in evoo..some chopped shallots..capers..salt..paper & mayo..now I like it on pita crackers which I usual buy at Dollar General but bought a box elsewhere & there were very few whole crackers.. mostly just assorted pieces..ergo..bought a box at Dollar General & except for a few pieces the majority are whole..& a nice chat with one of the clerks..../....other than my evening meal..daily shower & taking of my meds..nothing pressing on the docket for the rest of the day..maybe a game or three..some TV..and wanderings around the net before I take my rest..ergo.."nite all"....

   As I sit down at my desktop to write this post most of the day's activities are well in hand..ate my third meal..the /usual rustic egg-white frittata w/Wasa bread & a pink grapefruit sparkling water..while watching part of two episodes of "Beat Bobby Flay" on the Food Network..although I renew my case that seeing that's it's a food competition shoe it should be named "Fillet the Flay" ..just my 2 cents & I'm freshly showered & meds taken..../....Up just after 03:30 & by 09:00 was well into my days activities..a 95 minute session of poker on "Pokerist" (remember "free site" no real money changes hands..only game money..faux money) & was well into my sim&solitaire play & today's post to "Trollie's Game Room" posted..about 09:00 decided to go back to Aldi..when I walk yesterday it was a spur of the moment thing & I hadn't check frig & pantry and there were I few things I've should have gotten then as well..ergo..off again & was reminded of what my dad would have said in a similar situation.."If you don't have it in your head then you must have it in your feet"..on the way back I past by the windows that look out over the swing & picnic area here & saw 7 adult Canada Geese was watching for a minute or two when I realized there was more there than at first glance.. went to my rooms..dropped off my sling-bag..out the backdoor & approached them from a different direction..yup..more then a first glance reveal..2 of the pairs of adults had 2 goslings each..from their size I'd say a little over a week old..now the three adults..14 goslings..tiny little fuzz balls..maybe only a couple days old..cute little rascals..but from long experience watching the geese that summer in these parts I kept my distance..but I do enjoy watching them..../....everything that needs doing today when I publish  this posting will be done..so maybe a little TV..another look-in on FB..maybe another game or three of solitaire before I take my rest..ergo.."nite all"....[18:53 UTC-4]..../....

   The forecast from last high that included a day of scattered..isolated T-storms..some severe..well Wilbur..it either missed us or was far less of a storm than predicted..although we did get a little light rain in the late morning & earl afternoon which didn't amount to very much..got up about 04:30 & got right into my day's online gaming & because of the reset time on "Pokerist" & the fact that in order to accomplish my goals for the day there I played a 97 minute session & by the time I got my postings to "Trollie's  Game Room" done it was nigh on 09:30 & I hadn't had my first meal of the day yet (usually between 07:00 * 08:00) so I started to get it ready & at that point checked the weather & radar..no rain in the vicinity..grabbed a cherry-grain bar & off to Aldi..just the usual fare..was nice on the way over but on the way back the wind was blowing strongly & the skies were dark but got back & as above storm amounted to very little..never did eat first meal until around 10:30..../....Had the bulk of today's online tasks completed by just after 13:00 so decided to take a walk to Ollie's & Dollar General..but check the weather first but what light rain there had been had passed..did see anything at Ollie's but did get 2 more 20 oz bottles of Sunkist Orange..a bottle of Gatorade Zero & a jug of veggie juice at Dollar General..&  back to my rooms..took care of a few odds & ends and ate a delayed 2nd meal..the /usual sandwich about 16:30..probably will just have a snack later before I take my rest..shower & meds still to take..& maybe some TV..../....but despite the day being as helter-skelter as it was it actually in retrospect ended up a pretty good day..not that I'd want everyday like that but I'm nothing if not adaptable..after having run a shipping department for many years & the way I had planned the day was rarely if ever the way things went but by the end of the day all that had to get done got done..& today was a lot like that..ergo.."nite all"....[17:33 UTC-4]..../....

    I sat-just before 18:00 to check the weather as I always do before posting here..I had been thinking of penciling in a little shopping trip tomorrow..that is until  I saw tomorrows forecast..forget that idea,,was up just after 04:00 this morning and by just after 12:00 had all today's postings to "Trollie's Game Room" competed & posted..& had set up my play-sheets for tomorrow & had checked tomorrow's TV schedule..and by just after 16:00 had started the draft for tomorrows postings & decided to take a walk round the oft-mentioned "loop"..but I decided to slow my usual pace..it takes me awhile every spring/summer to adjusted to the hot/humid weather..of which I am not particularly fond..I read years ago that the body tends to adjust to the most common extreme & in these parts that ain't hot & humid..in the Northcountry winters a wind-chill of -25*F or lower is not uncommon..I remember a day several years ago when the actually temperature was -55*F & we had 50>55 mph winds..making the windchill -100*F or lower..only day I can remember that the city just shutdown for cold weather..according to what I read hypothermia & frost-bite could have occurred in under a minutes..when I was running a shipping/receiving department many years ago it was not uncommon to be outside for extended periods in -40*F windchills..but I had learned to dress for the conditions..heat/humidity..you can only legally take off so much clothes..ergo..my preferred tactic for hot/humid days is stay in my rooms with the HVAC on "cool"..../....Shower & meds taken..evening meal consumed..all that is left to do a couple more check-in on my FB groups..maybe a little more TV or wandering around Youtube..anyways & ergo.."nite all"....[18:42]..../....

*[18:16 UTC-4]*..After posting the above I decided to have a sit-down on the back lawn in the shade of "'Ye Olde Oak Tree".. grabbed my folding chair & a bottle of Sunkist Orange & headed out ..only to find that they were in the process of mowing the back lawn..so  decided to sit just outside the entry way & watch..one of the reasons I love living here in the hotel is I can watch someone else mow the grass..I grew up rural to the east of  Buffalo NY..& as a teen it was my task to mow the the lawns around our house..approximately an acre & a half..with a old style gas mower which was not self-propelled..you pushed it..in fact when I owned a house in the small city I live in I had so little lawn that I had an old style push mower..& the only power came from me pushing it..but the lawn was so small anything else just would have been "over-kill"..but I'm glad my grass mowing days are be-hind me..& don't even get me started on shoveling or blowing snow..another job that I no-longer have to do..../....decent nights sleep..up just after 03:30 & by the time I logged on to play poker I had except for my postings everything pretty well in hand..so just after 09:00 with the day well in hand I decided to take a walk..first to the Doc's office..I had received over the weekend the bill from my April appointment so took the short walk to his office with my checkbook in-hand & took care of that..then off to Big Lots ..just for a look but found nothing that jumped off the shelf into my basket..& a quick stop at Aldi..only needed bananas but as I walked by the display of meats decided to get a package of mixed italian cold cuts..and after 2nd meal a walk to Dollar General for 2 more 20 oz bottles of Sunkist & a 6-pack of Dr Pepper..../....except for a meal..maybe some TV & a couple of look-ins on my FB groups..my day is done..with the weather forecast for tomorrow unless something pops up..it is my intent to stay in my rooms with the HVAC set to "cool"..ergo.."nite all"....[18:41 UTC-4]..../....

   Had stayed up a little later last night and didn't "hit the hay" as we used to say back in the day (I grew up rural) until a little after 21:00 & never rolled out of bed until around 04:40..since I had been off-line for the better part of 19 hours I never logged on to "Pokerist" yesterday until a little after 10:00..so had to wait until just after 9:00 this morning until the "Daily Bonus"&"Daily Quests" re-set..(23 hour clock) so spent the early morning hours catching up on what I hadn't gotten done in yesterday's truncated time frame..but had all of today's games & postings done by a little after 13:00..had a traditional mid-day sandwich with today's featured ingredient some very nice dry salami & of course ripple chips & today a diet Coke..../....decided I needed some air..so took a walk to T J Maxx got a very nice piece of hard salami which a few slices will find there way on my first meal plate tomorrow & for day's to come..then Speedway convenience store for a tube of chew & on the return walk at stop at Dollar General got 2-20 oz bottles of Sunkist Orange..I love it on a hot day & a can of black olives..(who often find their way in to my evening rustic egg-white frittata) & on return to my rooms played some sims&solitaire until just after 17:45..grabbed my folding chair & a now chilled bottle of Sunkist & sat in the shade of "ye olde oak tree" that grows on the west side of the back lawn & then back to the rooms ..for the taking of my meds..a shower & shampooing of my hair & beard..a quick blow dry & logged on to check the weather & write my daily post..../....have nothing special planned for the rest of the evening other than a meal & checking in on the two FB groups where I'm either a mod or an admin..do have a walk penciled in for tomorrow to Aldi & maybe Big Lots & of course more online gaming & wandering the net via Youtube & Google..ergo.."nite all"....[19:23 UTC-4]..../....

   I didn't post here yesterday..the day was going pretty much like virtually every other day..had made a stop first at the bank to pickup my "10 day walking around money" and then to Aldi to pick up the liquid egg-white I had forgot the day before..just after 13:00 in the middle of a game of Spades the power went off..a short walk to the plaza below revealed it wasn't just off in the hotel I live in but was off in the surrounding area as well..was off for about 90 minutes..power restored..& danged if I lost my WiFi connection..which hadn't been restored by the time I was ready to call it a day..../....not one of my better nights of sleep..awoke just after 03:00..still no WiFi..ergo..spent the morning watching the only halfway decent thing on the "old boob tube"..some episodes of NCIS-New Orleans on the TNT network..not a show I watch on a regular basis..but was the best available at that time in the early morning..I periodically check and finally just after 10:00 the WiFi was up & I've been hard at it most of the day..didn't bother to take the time for my traditional sandwich..just grabbed a pre-made rib sandwich for my second meal & except for a brief sit-down on the bench between the 2nd & 3rd buildings have been "hard at it" most of the day..../....Now I have no doubt that the frustration of the outages had some adverse effects on me..because once I did get back on my essential tremors were bothering me more than than normally do..but got thru my brief session on "Pokerist" & about the time I was finished they had calmed down to a more normal state..but decided to leave all my postings until just about an hour ago..now I'm not by trade what we would have called back in the day a "clerk/typist"..I'm strictly a two finger "typist(?)" who employs the scriptural method of typing.."Seek & Ye Shall Find" or the Columbus method.."Discover & Land"..but when I have a tremor..oy vey..../....Still a few loose ends to tie off before I take my rest..ergo.."nite all"....[18:07 UTC-4]....

   I took my traditional walk around the oft-mentioned "loop" this after 17:00..enjoyed the walk greatly..just a very warm..pleasant day with just a light breeze..on return to my rooms took my daily shower & my meds & sat down to compose this post after checking an recording current,,overnight & tomorrows weather as always..../....to bed about 21:00..& up at 04:00 with only I interruption just after mid-night..best nights sleep I've had lately & felt pretty good for most of the day but got a headache mid-afternoon..got word by telephone that a person I had an intimate relationship with years ago is on life-support & shows no brain activity..now the relationship ended badly at least from my perspective..but I have dealt with those feelings in the past & they are now behind me & am saddened at the passing of one whom which I had many good times with those many years ago..../....took a break in my online gaming just after 009:00 for a walk to first "Big Lots"..a container of garlic powder..a can of Spanish olives stuffed with anchovies..a box of Wasa bread & another bottle of the Hellmann's roasted garlic sauce & then to "Aldi's"..just the usually fare..but I had prepared a shopping list & actually took it with me & still managed to forget to get the liquid egg-whites that were on the list..dummkopf..have sufficient thru Saturday & since I was already planning a walk Saturday to the ATM for my "10 day walking around money"..will just take the short walk from there to Aldi & pickup the egg-whites & probably a few things that I might need &/or want by then..../....still have a few details to deal with before I take my rest..check-ins on "The Farthest Side" & "May the Far Side be with you"..probably will watch a couple of episodes of "Beat Bobby Flay" & certainly another meal will be consumed..ergo.."nite all"....[18:38 UTC-4]..../....

*[17:17 UTC-4]*..back from my late afternoon walk round the oft-mentioned "loop" & today just a brief sit-down on the bench at the intersection of Western & Arsenal..on the way back to my rooms encountered a mated pair of Canada Geese..a large number of that species summer in this area every year..& if this is like any other year they will sure be joined by this years hatch..shower & meds taken so I have sat me down to compose this post..../....My sleep was interrupted last night around mid-night by cramp-ing in my left foot..I'd no sooner get one cramp "worked-out" when another would follow..ergo..got one of the compression foot sleeves I have..put that on & the cramping ceased..then later was awakened by my right knee & hip which were complaining about the fact that I was sleeping on my right side..rolled over & they were quieted....had went to bed around 21:00 & up just after 04:30..& off to start my online day..was well ahead of schedule and decided to walk to Ollie's & Dollar General..not looking for anything specific..more an excuse to walk than out of needing something..a bag of beef jerky at Ollie's...at Dollar General..a few months back I had got a bottle of a mexican red hot sauce..Cholula ..which I have enjoyed..but noticed same brand but a green sauce..which insisted that I take it back to my rooms..[Hot sauce inventory now@26 different types)..and it found it's way into a sandwich dressing which I spent some time after 13:00 concocting..oil..vinegar..the afore mentioned green hot sauce & several of my collection of spices also made an appearance & was used on my mid-day sandwich of a very nice dry salami..of course ripple chips & a diet Coke also appeared..(probably knowing me I will continually "fiddle" with the ingredients in the sauce) ..../....nothing on the "boob tube" tonight worth my time..another meal for sure & some more games & check-ins on my FB groups before I take my rest..ergo.."nite all"....[17:42 UTC--4]..../..../

*[17:10 UTC-4]*..finished posting the above weather & decided to play a few games of Spades..just after 16:00 decided to take a walk around the oft-mentioned "loop"..now I've mentioned before that save for a single goose & one mated I haven't encounter any other Canada Geese this spring..went out the back door and there munching grass on the back lawn were 5 mated pairs & right in the area where I make my way do the hill..so stood there for a while & eventual they made their way down the hill & I followed..they went left & I went by them an continued my walk to my /usual sit down on the benches at the intersection of Western & Arsenal..I thinking that because of the foul weather were had early this spring that the birthing season has been de-layed..../....back to my rooms..shower & meds taken..ergo..../....Got to bed a little after 21:00 last night not quite a good nights sleep as the night before..only real issue was awakened during the night with my right hip complaining about whatever..got up about 04:30..at 05:00 started a 70 minute session on "Pokerist"..got my 2 Quests & left with a few more chips than I hand brung with me..just after 09:00..took a walk..first to Price Chopper..shallots..red bell peppers & a bag of small red skin potatoes...off to T J Maxx..& another bottle of hot sauce..(re-arranged my collection & counted them..25 different kinds..)..then to Dollar General for a jug of generic V8 & a bag of ripple chips..../....have spent the day quietly..an episode of NCIS along with 1st meal & another along with my mid-day traditional sandwich..ripple chips & diet Dr Pepper..../....probably just a few more games..my evening meal & maybe another NCIS episode before I take my rest..ergo.."nite all"....[17:32 UTC-4]..../....

*[18:49 UTC-4]*..Been an interesting day..didn't go to bed until hear 21:00..fell to sleep quite quickly & only awoke twice during the night & awoke almost exactly st 04:00..unlike yesterdays extended & very frustrating 2 hour session of "Pokerist" played 17 minutes..had completed the two relevant "Quests" & with the fact that loose played reigned decided to "pack-it-in"..../....decided to take a walk to Aldi just after 09:00..now I must have been thinking about something or somehow was distracted while getting ready to go because as I was entering Aldi's parking lot that's when I tumbled to the fact that I had forgotten my sling bag ..dummkopf..but was a beautiful warm sunny day with a nice breeze..ergo..retraced my steps..got my sling bag..and back to Aldi..got the usual fare..& back to my rooms..& on the way back had a chat with one of the newer residents..even with my goof-up I was all done with my day's gaming..& had my game-sheets for tomorrow & the weather posted here before 13:00..had my traditional sandwich..ripple chips & a diet Coke for mid-day meal..and staring in on playing my sim&solitaire games..took a brief break to walk to Dollar General for a bottle of Gatorade Zero & a six-pack of 7.5 oz. cans of diet Coke & felt a little "over-heated" on my return so cranked up the AC on the HVAC..which I have just back to heater..I sleep better warm..../....Shower &  meds taken & a evening meal of a rustic egg-white frittata with shallot..green onion..garlic spinach..cheese & several spices served with Wasa bread & iced tea..& off to finish this posting..../....BBC America is showing Law & Order re-runs this evening have already watch an episode w/my evening meal..& may watch another..or perhaps just wander around the internet for awhile before I take my rest..ergo.."nite all"....[19:12 UTC-4]..../....

   I had completed the draft for tomorrows postings to "Trollie's Game Room" & setup my game sheets for tomorrow & checked Sunday's TV offerings..if anything more sparse &  dismal than today's & as/usual was going to check weather and start the draft for this posting..well Wilbur..decided that what I really needed to do right than was to take a walk & get some fresh air..now I'd been sitting in my computer chair for awhile after 2nd meal & save for a quick walk to the lobby just after 07:00 for a couple of items off the breakfast buffet & another walk just after 09:00 to Aldi for the usual fare save as they sometimes do they had lengths of polish sausage..import from Poland..I've had it before and I.m quite sure at some point will find it's way in to several of my traditional mid-morning sandwiches..so when I got up from my chair I discovered that my legs had stiffened up & had an entirely different opinion about my proposed walk..ergo..listened to my legs & grabbed a bottle of water..my shades..my folding chair & my cane and headed for the back  lawns..came back in & picked up where I had left off..the day has run pretty smoothly save for a less than funny session of "Pokerist"..just couldn't "catch" as many decent hands as I would have liked..well..you never do but today there were few & far between..but had some decent runs on the sim&solitaire games...../....never got to bed until just before 21:00 and as has frequently happened of late had a hard time falling asleep..but one I did had a decent nights rest.. never surfaced until just after 05:00..I've come to the conclusion that not only am I not going to be able at my age to keep a set schedule vis-a-vie time..I frankly I shouldn't try..when I get up..I start the day then & there..dang..sometimes I have to remind myself I'm retired..dummkopf..anyways nothing on the tube tonight save for "Pawn Star" re-runs..ergo..will probably play some Spades..shower & meds yet to take & my evening meal..ergo II.."nite all".....[17:16 UTC-4]..../....

*[17:52 UTC-4]" Just returned from a short sit-down on the back lawns..save for a short walk to Big Lots earlier in the day have been in my rooms all day..in to sessions of "Pokerist" played for over three hours with mixed results..all that can be said of the sessions are that I ended the them ahead of where I started at the beginning of the day..just a pretty typical morning of online gaming so just after 12:00 decided to take the short walk to Big Lots..bought a bottle of Carolina Hot..after a taste in my rooms will be placed next to the Ghost Pepper sauce I bought the other day & be used with the same discretion..but wilts rummaging thru their condiments section found something I've never seen before..along with the /usual Spanish green olives stuffed with cheese..garlic or peppers..there were cans which were stuffed with anchovies..never seen them before..now I always have anchovies in my pantry..Ii use them as a substitute for salt in sandwiches..salads & the like..well Wilbur..they were less the two bucks a can..so why not..ergo..the opened can is in a container in my frig & a small bowl of them resides even as I write this post next to my keyboard awaiting their fate....{note to self:next time your in Big Lots get another can for the pantry}..../....there was precious little on TV today and even less tomorrow so save for the episode of NCIS I watched this morning probably will watch very little the rest of the day & tomorrow..../....still a few things to deal with today before I take my rest..shower & meds still need to be taken..& another meal..most likely with the aforementioned olives taking a place of honor & of course a quick look or two in on the FB groups I either am an admin or mod..& maybe an episode of "Hornblower" which I have saved on Youtube..ergo....

*[18:31 UTC-4]*..Been a fairly quiet day..just finished 3rd meal & decided to sit down and at least start the posting for the day.... /....got to bed a little later last night..about 20:30 so the fact that I did surface until 04:30 really didn't come at a big shock..I've decided that it really doesn't matter one way of the 'tother..I'm retired..so on one hand it makes no difference what time I get up or go to sleep just so long as I get done what needs to be done..or rather..get done what I feel like doing in a given 24 hours..I very rarely have something that absolutely..positively..must be done on a given day..on the other hand especially in the warm weather I like to get an early start on what ever errands I need to run..preferably in the fore-noon..&  then just kick back in the afternoon & evening & just do whatever I feel like doing..../...spent the morning on my online games save for the short walk to the "lobby" for a few items for first meal and was done with the games by just after 12:00..the traditional sandwich w/ripple chips and a diet Coke & then a quick walk down the hill to Ollie's..I had picked up a 1 lb. bag of cashews the other day..for 5$..which is a great price for halves&pieces..and after strenuous testing of them..by consuming them in large numbers found they were of good quality & decided as with anything you buy and like at an outlet store..best to get a backup because the store may never have them again..ergo..the backup now resides in my pantry..../....had after the usual afternoon setting of the game-sheets for tomor-row..and starting drafts both here & at "Trollie's Game Room"..had a sit-down on the back lawns..back for my daily shower & the taking of my meds & watched an episode of "Bones" with the aforementioned 3rd meal..../....just a couple things to do before I take my rest..ergo.."nite all"....[18:55 UTC-4]..../....

*[18:55 UTC-4]..I finished setting up the header and decided that what I really needed was a sit-down on the back lawn..put on my wind-breaker vest..grabbed my lawn chair & a bottle of Gatorade Zero & my shades and sat out for the better part of 40 minutes..just enjoying the sunny and the cool breeze..back inside decided to take my shower & meds & then started to prepare a potato & spinach rustic egg-white frittata for 3rd meal..whether it was caused by a tremor or the simple fact that at times I can be a real klutz I managed to nick myself with my kitchen scissors..right on the tip of my left thumb..oy vey..a spot I've always had a hard time getting a bandade on..well Wilbur..wasn't any different tonight..took several attempts before I got it to stick..watched a little SVU while eating..the frittata was joined by a piece of Wasa bread..a black cherry flavored sparkling water..a "Star Crunch" & a couple  of mini-Heath bars..../....Last night 1 was watching the last NCIS episode..& nearly fell asleep in my recliner..was in bed by 20:00 saw the lock just after 22:30 & again about 02:00 and finally just before 05:00..dang..another late start..had checked the weather & it wasn't as windy as predicted and took the short walk to Aldi just after 10:00..got the spinach I had failed to do the last time I went..hadn't check before I went & didn't realize I was low..dummkopf..save for the aforementioned sit-down have been in my rooms the rest of the day..a little NCIS w/1st meal..and some Paw Patrol w/2nd meal..have a quiet..restful..peaceful day..well..up to the point I cut my finger..weather for the next several days looks pretty good..daytime highs in the upper 60s F or lower 70s F and only a couple of days with any rain atall..but sitting just 20 miles east as the crow flies from one of the Great Lakes any long term forecast is a guess at best..../....not much left to do before I take my rest..maybe a couple games of Spades..ergo.."nite all"....[18:25 UTC-4]..../....

   Just got back to my rooms from my afternoon walk and checked the weather and sat-down to write this post..had the day well in-hand & decided I needed the fresh air and a little exercise..had the walk to Speedway convenience store penciled in for tomorrow but since the winds tomorrow are forecast to  be even brisker than this afternoon decided as we would have said back in the day to "'Kill two birds with one stone" & walk there & get a tube of chew..../....another not the best night's sleep but was up & at 'um by 04:00..just after 09:00 decided to walk to Ollie's..a couple more packs of the dark chocolate covered peanuts with sea salt & a pack of cashews..and a bag of miniature Heath bars at Dollar General..got back to the rooms and decided that I'd might as well take the walk up the hill to the bank (which was also penciled in for tomorrow} and get my "10 day walking around money" a day early..had a nice chat with the bank manager and another with one of the teller..which reminds me..when I paid at Ollie's I used a pre-paid credit card I was given at Christmas as a gift from the hotel staff..I don't have a credit card..haven't had one in years..the checkout girl had to show me how to use it..oy vey..I do have a debit card but the only place I ever use it is to get money from the ATM..../....anyways has been a very typical Tuesday..have watch bits & pieces of NCIS episodes on the USA network and probably a couple more this evening..housekeeping was in as/usual and my rooms are cleaned..vacuumed and fresh linens..not that I every really make much of a mess anyways..../....still shower and meds to take..another meal to be consumed and..??..haven't quite decided yet before I take my rest..ergo.."nite all"....[17:19 UTC-4]..../....

   I'm posting this evening considerably later then /usual but I had failed to complete my "Daily Quests" on "Pokerist" & opted for a second go at the tables..sat down to a very friendly game howbeit at times very aggressive..my kind of game..& played a lot longer than I had intended (100 minutes)..didn't catch as well as  I would have liked..left a few chips on the table but completed my "Daily Quests"[remember free site..no actual money changes hands..only game money..faux money..it ain't real]..../....

   Although it hasn't started to rain as of yet..checked the radar and it should begin anytime how..was pretty much done with my daily online games..buy just before 15:00..had a brief sit-down..took my shower and meds and started the draft for tomorrow's post to "Trollie's Game Room" and set up tomorrows play-sheets..checked the weather..one word.."rain"..and the TV listings for tomorrow..one word.."ziltch"..and sat down to write this post..another late start but had trouble getting to sleep last night..mind was a whirling dervish with thoughts..the usual breaks for first meal & NCIS..not an episode I like..so just watch until I was finished eating..and some Paw Patrol with my 2nd meal..I had mentioned yesterday that I intended to walk to Dollar General.. ended up with the mechanical pencils and decided I could get 2 six-packs of 7.5 oz cans in my sling bag..& did..so got both diet Coke & Dr Pepper..but while I was walking down the aisle to get my pencils..walked by the toy display and the had small figures of the Paw Patrol crew..decided I needed a pet..so Ruble is now staring at me as I compose this..besides he was only a buck..and a nice chat with the kid who checkout my purchases..../....with the weather forecast & the lack of anything on the TV tomorrow worth my time will probably spend the bulk of the day online..truth be told except for my errands & walks I spend most of my day online most days..but haven't really "surfed" Google lately and have a couple of thoughts on lines of research I might give ago to tomorrow..../....anyways..still a thing or three that I should look at before I take my rest..ergo.."nite all"..just took one last look outside and the rain was yet to begin....[17:43 UTC-4]..../....

   Took a walk around the "loop" just after 16:00..had a chat with the mated pair of Canada Geese..they don't say much..just the occasional hiss..I'm glad I don't understand goose..I assume that what ever it means it's probably quite rude..and my /usual sit-down & then  back to my rooms..I'm freshly showered and medicated and set-up tomorrows gaming sheets & check tomorrow's TV & weather and then sat down to write this posting..../....a decent nights sleep and another late start..seems the old bod is requiring a little more "down time"..so be it..took a break from online play for an NCIS episode & 1st meal..and after a decent session on "Pokerist" & today's posting to "Trollie's Game Room"..just before 11:00 took the walk I had penciled in for today..first to Big Lots..just a couple of cans of Greek stuffed grape leaves..not quite up to the quality of those I used to get at nearby Greek diner..but they closed a couple of years back..and these are close enough to be enjoyed & a bottle of ghost pepper hot sauce.. have always been curious whether it would actually live up to the hype..well Wilbur..after a small taste I've concluded that I will use it with the greater discretion and then over to Aldi..just the /usual fare save for a small piece of mature Irish cheddar..had it on my traditional 2nd meal sandwich..very nice..but today some cheddar popcorn replaced the usual ripple chips & a diet Coke.. ..nothing on the agendum for tomorrow other the a short walk to Dollar General for a 6-pack of 7.5 oz cans of (still to be determined) & a package of mechanical pencils..have pretty well worn-out the last package..../.....If the weather forecasts hold true [knock wood] Saturday looks like a wash-out..quite literally..ergo..will check the pantry & frig just in case I need something ..../....still a few things left to tie off before I take my rest..ergo.."nite all"....[18:43 UTC-4]..../....

   Didn't sleep quite as well as the night before and overslept as well..although the generic Tylenol I took did eventual quieted my left index finger..just a pretty typical day of online activities..the usual sim&solitaire games..a decent session on "Pokerist" and some breaks alone the way..first meal & an NCIS episode..second meal & some "Paw Patrol"..and a quick run..well Wilbur..to be honest quick walk for a gimpy..grumpy..old codger who walks with a cane..but anyways..to Ollie's a couple more packs of Claey's hard candies..and I couldn't remember if I had bought the backup for the box of quart storage bags when I opened the new one last week..and of course the thought struck me when I was already in the store & couldn't check the pantry so decided I'd better get a box..yup..the backup now has a backup..dummkopf..not the first time I've done that and most probably won't be the last & then off to Dollar General..a backup bottle of Gatorade Zero..which I had checked the pantry a couple of day's ago and then forgotten to buy it the last time I was there..oy vey & a couple of apple pocket pies..yup..I know..I should write down a shopping list and often do..but then get distracted while getting ready to go and more often then not leave it on my computer desk..but it's not me getting older..have been that way most of my adult life..when I worked I carried a small cassette recorder & if I was away from my desk and thought of something I needed to deal with later would record it..worked pretty well..maybe should consider getting another..yup..lost the original..(shakes his old grey head)..I'd probably forget my head if it wasn't attached sometimes..anyways..still a few things to accomplish before I take my rest..ergo.."nite all"....[17:53 UTC-4]..../....

   Had the best nights sleep I've had in years..actually sleep at one point for nearly six hours without interruption..one of my meds has diuretic properties..guess it took the day off..although I was "dead tired" last night when I went to bed..have felt good all day save for my left index finger that has been complaining all day..just gave up and took a generic tylenol..and it seems to have quieted it's complaining some what..but then I am typing this post so I should probably finish up and give it a rest..the 24 hour re-set clock on Pokerist apparently re-sets every 23 hours..??..not that that's a problem..actually a good thing it's progressively..or rather regressivisely getting back to a time earlier in the day which is more convenient for me...anyways a decent session..and was done for the day with my online gaming by just before one..had watched an NCIS episode@07:00 w/first meal & another @13:00 w/second..and intended to watch a third@19:00 probably a snack..this morning I had finished one task and trying to decide what to do next when the rap on the door announcing the arrival of housekeeping there Tuesday visit..I thanked them for the impeccable timing..../....did venture out about 15:00 on a walk around the oft mentioned "loop" and encountered a mated pair of geese..haven't seen the usual numbers this year as in years past..??..and on the way back from my sit-down one of the "kids: that works at Price Chopper walk by on his way to work..and had a pleasant chat..and then back to my rooms..../....just a couple of things that still need doing..another meal..another lookin or two on the FB groups I mod or admin on..and maybe a couple of games of Spades before I watch NCIS & take my rest..ergo.."nite all"....[18:04 UTC-4]..../....

   Got a pretty normal start to the day around 04:00 after a decent night's rest..but because there was nothing on the "old boob tube" worth my time I had played a couple of games of Spades last night so by just after 12:30..had a successful 1/2 hour ses-sion of "Pokerist" done..today's  posting to "Trollie's Game Room" done and tomorrow's draft for there started..now it wasn't raining and according to the weatherman won't begin again until late this evening..and was a sunny 60*F at the time..so off I went to Price Chopper..a couple of bulbs of garlic..3 shallots & a box of "Star Crunch"..checked the price on basil..which I have been having difficult time finding any..??..but the price they wanted for a very small amount made me quickly decided I could do with-out..I have a couple of different "italian spice mixes" so they will suffice..but in the middle of this internal debate..me vs. me..I plum forgot that I wanted to get prepared horseradish..oy vey & dummkopf..still have about a half a bottle and some raw root but usually get the "backup" bottle at this point..what would my 1st meal "Virgin Mary" (aka:"Bloody Mary sans alcohol) be with out it..anyways off to T J Maxx..a grinder of garlic & red pepper flake..a few grinds of that combination might just find it's way in to the above mention drink..&..a bottle of capers..usually capers are preserved in salt or brine..but these are in vinegar..and plumper than most..rather than the usual salty taste these are a tad on the sour side..would make a nice change of pace in some recipes..hum..(mind churning with ideas..anyways..TNT is showing "Justice League: in about and hour..and a few details to deal with be for that..ergo.."nite all"....[16:34 UTC-4]..../....

*[16:27 UTC-4]..I took one look at the current weather above..grabbed my hat & cane and went for a walk around the oft-men-tioned "loop" & a sit-down on the benches at the corner of Western Blvd &Arsenal St..just too nice of weather to waste in my rooms..was up about 03:00 and online before 04:00..and was all but done with my daily sim&solitaire games by just after 10:00 ..checked the radar and the rain was just north of us here..had a few things I needed at Ollie's & Dollar General..just a couple of spices & a couple of packages of Claeys' hard candy @Ollie's & a bag of ripple chips@Dollar General..and back to my rooms..it did "spit" a little rain during my walk but nothing significant..then finished up with a few more games..spent sometime posting to and tending to the FB groups where I'm either a mod or an admin..not too of a busy today..and started my draft on "Trollie's Game Room" for tomorrow..was in a lazy mood so just grabbed a pre-made rib sandwich from the freeze..2 minutes in the microwave..ripple chips and a diet Coke..and off to "Pokerist"..played just over an hour..actually got to play some "real" poker for a change and a successful session..finished today's post to "TGR" & started this one..but as I aforementioned..just too nice of a day..and with the forecast for the next few days my last chance until maybe Thursday to get out..get some exercise and breath the fresh air..although I have lived in this small city for 50+ years..I'm a country boy at heart..I spent my youth in a rural area to the east of Buffalo NY..and as an older teen spent sometime helping the local farmers during haying season..also there was a large garden that needed weeding and a coop of chickens that needed to be feed and once a week..the straw & their dropping to be removed and placed in the compost pile..a simpler life..which I oft-times miss..well..all except the aforementioned cleaning of the chicken coop..don't miss that atall..../....just a few details to "iron out" before I take my rest..ergo.."nite all"....

   A decent nights sleep and an early start on the day..due to my inability to get "Pokerist" to load until the afternoon..the timing of drops & 'Daily Bonuses" has made me change my sessions to the afternoon..ergo by just before 09:00 I was almost done with my sim&solitaire play..and decided to at least get my stop at the ATM for my "10  day walking around money: & my stop at Aldi today..so up the hill to  the ATM..withdrew a little more than/usual because I needed to pickup s couple of med-re-fills at Price Chopper..and then off to Aldi..weather was a bit chilly but sunny..got the few things I needed and a nice chat with one of the "kids" that work there and on a whim decided to continue to  Price Chopper  & Speedway convenience store..which I had penciled in for tomorrow..In retrospect that was a fortunate whim..when I had checked the weather last night no rain was forecast for tomorrow ..but when I checked just before sitting down to compose this post discovered that rain is predicted for the hours that I would have wanted to walk..got to Price Chopper and expected the usual delay and was going to pickup a few things..Hellman's Mayo prime among them..but since the the prescriptions had just been renewed they had them already..picked them and decided to skip the Mayo..off to Speedway & got a tube of chew..and on the way  back to my rooms while passing close to Dollar General remembered that they stocked the squeeze bottle of Hellman's as well and at a better price..so got it there and back to my rooms..with getting ready and putting everything away was about an hour & 40 minutes out of my day..so I've been playing catch-up the rest of the day and a 100 minute session on "Pokerist" did it's damage to my schedule as well..howbeit a very successful one..../....still a "ton" of things to do before I take my rest..ergo.."nite all"....[16:48 UTC-4]..../....
