mussorgsky's pictures at an exhibition was written for piano but this is a recording of ravel's orchestra version, which is actually more popular then the original.......it's about 2 hours to new years, probably will surf for a while, take a hot bath and hit the sheets long before midnight......i rarely stay up for it.........the last time was 2 years ago and then only because of the Y2K hype.....not that i every really bought into it.....after all it's just another day, it's only different because we arbitrarily set the new year on that date, no rea; logic behind it, just tradition and formality..........as willie would say..."full of sound and fury,signifing nothing"...........

the overtures of Von Suppe and Auber and coffee, the music this morning is in an attempt to get out of the foul mood i'm in, no reason really for the mood, just got up on the wrong side of the bridge i guess..these pieces are light, aerie, and just plain fun...two possible results......i actually start feeling better......i end up chucking the cds/cd player out the window........if you look below you will see kind of a poem, free form which came tumbling out of the maelstrom which takes the place in me of a mind......if you look in the archives you may find embedded there other poems, mostly silly limericks, i once said that the fact that my poetry is written very irregularly is that the muses only descend on rare occasions, but when thinking last night its more basic, i'm reminded of a gag in a bugs and daffy cartoon, where daffy falls off a bridge. bugs wonders if daffy will remember that he can fly, nope daffy hits the water, then bugs wonders if daffy will remember that he can swim, nope daffy sinks..........it seems that the most probable explanation for the randomness of the appearance of poetry here is simply i forget that trollie knows how to write poetry.......while the cartoon story may seem like it fell off the truck, there is a connection to the music i'm listening to this AM........much of the music used in the older cartoons was classical, it was in the public domain, and therefore free, von suppe's music was used heavily, particularly by the bugs bunny cartoons......

i got to thinking about pig latin, ran a google search and found among other things an english to pig latin translator and an actually google search engine in pig latin....no gag ...links over there on the right or check here, see i told you so..........ervepray igpay atinlay.........

beethoven #4 and #7, and tea...the cd is part of a set of all 9 beethoven symphonies + a recreation of the partial completed 10th......not the greatest recordings on one hand, but on the other i got them for zilch, nodda, free.........my favorite way to get anything...worked today....well that really is not wholely true, i was at work today...really wasn't real busy....have tomorrow and the next off, and then 2 days work at weeks end.......did a little work on the blog today, added a one liner as well as the boggler and riddle and a mood meter......really don't know why i added the mood meter, i'm always in a lousy mood, everyone knows it but i thought what the hey, this gives me a chance to rub everyones nose in it.......i mean my bad mood......not what you were thinking......hey keep those thoughts to yourself this is a class blog....well 3/5 of class anyway........actually from time to time i've thought of translating my blog into pig latin.......or maybe starting a pig latin blog..........after all ancient languages should be preserved.......( oh boy)......
