Watertown, NY, USA . "Public Square" (vintage, date unknown) but the monument is honoring veterans of the American Civil War so the date of the image is late 1800s

took the afternoon off, several reasons, just dead tired from last week, haven't taken a half day in over two week, and although the foot is tons better it's still tender and i didn't want to pound cement for 8 hours, i've worked on and off in factories since i was 18 and for the last 31.5 years on the same job, 8 by 5 + hours on a ement floor, it's a wonder i have any legs left under me at all. the most fun part of the day was trying to get my tender toe and the foot to which it is attached into my steel toed shoe, well they really aren't steel toed anymore, the use some kind of composite for the hard toe but i still think of them as steel toed, the biggest advantage other then less weight to the composite is that it doesn't retain the cold the way steel does, mercy in the old days when it was cold out, man that steel insert would make your toes cold, anyhow i got permission to wear soft toes if i need to but i think i'll be ok......off to surf.....
