Watertown, NY, USA . "Public Square" (vintage, date unknown) but the monument is honoring veterans of the American Civil War so the date of the image is late 1800s

when younger i can remember hearing those who were older talking about "the Good Old Days", and silently to myself going "sure, yah okay, who would have wanted to live then rather then now (now being defined as 40 years ago +/-)
i caught myself the other day talking to a driver, and realizing that i was doing the same thing that i had thought a weakness and silly in my elders all those years ago, it's funny how things tend to go/come full circle, that being said there is something to be said about the good old days.
when i was in HS probably 85-90% of all the students in my school, came to school with a pocket knife in their pocket or purse, but never once did i see one used as a weapon, nor i doubt whether more then a very few even ever considered using it as such, not that there were not disputes then ended in a knockdown dragout, but there was an acceptable level of violence that was not overstepped, ah the good old days.......
