Watertown, NY, USA . "Public Square" (vintage, date unknown) but the monument is honoring veterans of the American Civil War so the date of the image is late 1800s

nice day, not too hot or humid, spent a couple hours at work finishing up month end numbers and inventory.........a trip across town for eggplant........one of my favorite things .....a relaxing afternoon....dinner at my daughters and we were getting ready to walk up into the park for the annual concert and fireworks display.......when we noticed a thick black cloud of smoke.....well at first we thought it was quite close and in the basic direction of trollie's homestead, so got in the car for a look and realized that it was a major fire, probably industrial, and in the wrong direction.....wrong because it was in the general direction of the factory i work, and the business my son-in-law's family owns...........as we got closer we knew it wasn't my place of work and gladly was steven's either..........one of the little used older mills was on fire.........basically it's gone......well anyways we used to use space a while back in that building for storage.......but haven't for quite awhile (trollie heaves big sigh of relief)
concert was good and fireworks where maybe the best i've every seen.........got home and noticed that i had had a call from my niece ( caller ID i like)........gave her a call and she was wondering if we had any materials in the building that burned because she remembered we once did......had a nice chat...........a really nice day........a little scary there for a bit but a nice day anyways
