elgar, the enigma variations, #9 is one of the beautiful peices of music i have ever heard, but it brings back a torrent of mixed mermories, it was played during the memorial service held in ottawa after 9-11(aired in the US), but is so beautiful, i get goose bumps,of course on this cd the variations are followed by Pomp and Circumstance Marches #1-5, #1 is the best known at least in the US as it's used for graduation, i played it for 6 junes when in HS over, and over, and over, we refered to it as Pomp and Circumcision, of course i guess i got off lucky my daughter played for SU graduation one year and if i remember right they played it over 40 times until everyone was in............so it's fair to say that my list of emotion for it varies greatly from that i have for the variations, more like i feel like i was goosed..........
