Watertown, NY, USA . "Public Square" (vintage, date unknown) but the monument is honoring veterans of the American Civil War so the date of the image is late 1800s

i got home from church in time to watch the finish of the men's marathon, and saw the attack on the leader, now years ago i was a fair runner myself and ran in quite a few roadraces. and you always had in the back of your mind the possibility of some one from the side of the road interfering, but at that level......i really feel sorry for the brazilian....i know what it takes to complete a marathon, the effort that was involved, and although i was never that good i do understand what it would have meant to him to win, now i don't think he would have, i think he would have been caught by the chase but.......really unfortunate incident
