Watertown, NY, USA . "Public Square" (vintage, date unknown) but the monument is honoring veterans of the American Civil War so the date of the image is late 1800s

sorry but i'm on the tomato kick today (see below)
the first of the hybrids were just coming out when i was maybe 12 or 13, and dad planted some, but before that they were all, own seed, no hybrids, and to tell the true there were a bit ugly, most were 4 lobs, not even close to a regular shape, but boy were they tasty..........fresh picked, washed at the outside tap........1 big bite........then a shake of salt and pepper, and a dash of apple cider vinegar.....a real treat after a couple of hours of mowing the near to an acre of grass with a push gas lawn mower....and if truth be told very few of the radishes and spring onions ever got to mom's kitchen either.....there are times when i sometimes long for those days long ago.......muck out the chicken coup....wheelbarrow to the compost pile.....cut some grass.......and a stop at the garden for a snack.....tomatoes, green onions, maybe a radish.....or maybe a few wild strawberries from the fields....old memories are flooding back the older i get......
