Watertown, NY, USA . "Public Square" (vintage, date unknown) but the monument is honoring veterans of the American Civil War so the date of the image is late 1800s

had a very nice drive this morning, went up route 3 into starlake....which is in the western edge of the adironacks........really pretty fall colors but a strange mix.....much of the reforestation that was done years ago was with pine trees......so you have a mix of brilliant fall colors against a back drop as it where of the green of the fir trees.......had half played with the idea of playing golf at the little nine hole course in starlake....but it was closed for the season...and at the point i was feeling a little sick.......cut back accrossed 58 to 11 so as to not just drive out and back and no sooner hit 11 then it started to rain.....got a sandwich which i ate on the way back........really nice ride though......just let the mind float and watch the sea of colors stream by the windows......been a dreary afternoon and i decided not to go out to dinner.....just stayed home and had some stew.......did not sleep well last night......really the first bad nights sleep i've had all week.....i'm tired but feel okay......glad that i decided to take the second weeks vacation.......i'm recovering from the state i was in but not as quickly as i had hoped or even thought i would......but i believe age effects us in that way too........pardon the stream of un-related thought.......but that is the way they are flooding tonight.......many pieces to a puzzle but i fear that it's many pieces to many puzzles and none are making much sense to night...........but not in a frustrating way....i'm rather amused by the whole thing
