Watertown, NY, USA . "Public Square" (vintage, date unknown) but the monument is honoring veterans of the American Civil War so the date of the image is late 1800s

was actually a nice sunny day today, which was a real change from yesterday, but cool and windy....had thought about playing golf this afternoon if it warmed up a little but it didn't so just ran some errands and did my grocery shopping...had lunch at the Apollo......which is kind of a cross between a restaurant and a diner......but serves greek specialties.......and has gyros down.....had an open face gyro sandwich, fries and coffee...really hit the spot.....ran into a driver i haven't seen for a while and discovered that he's semi-retired.....know the guy for probably 25 years, had a nice chat.......
made some beef barbecues for supper and then cheese and tropical fruit for desert, a little mango, a little prickily pear, and both cheddar and blue cheese....cheese and fruit is a combination that i really love for dessert, not a sweet dessert to be sure...but i don't really have a sweet tooth....
have just watched a little tube tonight.......no plans..... a perfect vacation............controlled by my to favorite things.....whim and impulse......
