Watertown, NY, USA . "Public Square" (vintage, date unknown) but the monument is honoring veterans of the American Civil War so the date of the image is late 1800s

It’s been snowing for the last 3 or 4 hours here, not heavy by any means but we have picked up 3 or 4 inches of snow anyhow, while I realize that technically it’s not “winter” until late in December, but here in the northcountry “winter” usually comes before it’s appointed time. And we have one of those things that I consider an anomaly, there is probably a very good explanation from some one versed in the science of weather, but not being so learned I find it strange. That is a thunder and lightening snowstorm. I can’t help it but I associate thunder and lightening with hot humid summer days or rather summer evenings when the temperature starts to drop, not a cold, snowy winter (well in this case late fall) day. Although this one was brief, one brilliant display of lightening and one house shaking thunder clap. Actually so short that the cats did not re-act and run for the cover of under the bed as they do during said thunderstorms.
