Watertown, NY, USA . "Public Square" (vintage, date unknown) but the monument is honoring veterans of the American Civil War so the date of the image is late 1800s

This has been the best of days and the worst of days…took a vacation day today as I really needed to get some work done on the car…oil change et al that was really like 6 weeks too late…if you go by the 3 months or 3000 miles stick…but only had like 1350 miles since the last change…talk to daughter yesterday who was looking for some of her stuff I had stored…she had today off (presidents day in the old usa)…actually the whole week for mid winter break…(she teaches instrumental music and is a math tutor at a very small school up in St Lawrence county)…so we had arranged to do lunch…

I was looking forward to sleeping in this AM and awoke a tad past 5 AM and sleep just fitfully until I finally got up at bit after 8 AM…physically in a very bad place…mentally worse and just didn’t feel like doing squat…

But arranged for a 2 PM appointment for the car work…ran a few errands early…well after shoveling the drive and the walk…maybe 6” of snow last night…but was plowed in pretty good and as my car is fairly low slung more then I could have drive through…although I was greatly tempted…

Went to the fair grounds inn for lunch…aptly named as it sits right next to the Jefferson county fair grounds…a bit of trivia is that the Jeff county fair is the oldest continually run county fair is the usa…a family style Italian restaurant, but the real deal is lunch…best sandwich menu in the county…SJ had a Rueben, and I had a mixed Italian…meat balls, a really fine grind Italian sausage on a huge bun with onions, pepper, and a excellent sauce…also had a really nice French onion soup with coffee…and although the meal and the chat improved all but the physical aspect of the day was feeling lousy physically afterwards…almost cancelled the appointment for the car…but as I won’t have a chance to reschedule for a week or so…went and had a neat chat with the counter man and an African American soldier from Fort Drum…feel pretty good tonight…still physically wreaked, but rested and stress free…got a call from the b shift foreman at work…apologized for interrupting my vacation day but had a question only I could answer…rarely have a work day off without at least one such call…part of the deal…which I accept…with some reluctance…

Nite all
