It had warmed up as the day has progressed..I walked earlier this afternoon was in the mid-50s F and the winds was about the same velocity but out of the south..just a wonderful day for a walk..I make no bones about the fact that my favorite time of the year is fall..for many reasons..from a sport stand point my fav two sports which at one time or another I competed in at the small college level were  both contested in the fall..soccer and  cross-country..and later once hunting season opened in there parts usually the first week in October for small game and duck/goose..it meant that the golf courses were empty..and generally you could play through the end of October..although I did do my share of small game and duck hunting as well..just a short walk to the Plaza that's just out the back door and down a short hill and thru the back side of it..just a few things at Ollie's and Dollar General..also was quite pleased to see that the "Thrift Store" is open again..didn't get anything today but have bought several items for cooking there as well as clothing..sure everything is used but in excellent shape..and I love a good bargain....
Speaking of golf..a couple friends and I decided to play golf one Halloween on a very hilly 9 hole course out on Pillar Point..which is on the Black River Bay..it was in the mid-40s F when we teed off..and a windy day..but with the bay and Lake Ontario close by to the west from where the prevailing wind usual comes from..but being used to it we just had sweaters on..and winter golf gloves..well we had played nine..not surprisingly we were the only group on the course..and decided to play another nine..we got to the third tee and it started to snow...and it was sticking..my friends thought about quitting..white golf balls..white snow..dug into my ball and found some neon orange and yellow balls..well by the time we finished there was about 3 to four inches of snow on the ground..but we finished the nine..and laughed about it for years....and yes I am crazier than a loon [link]....
The end of the day draws nigh and still things to do..has been a very busy day of modding on "The Farthest Side"..ergo..nite all....
