Watertown, NY, USA . "Public Square" (vintage, date unknown) but the monument is honoring veterans of the American Civil War so the date of the image is late 1800s

[Now Playing_{Gaudy Night}_]....
Although not a particularly a warm day..quite the opposite..the temperature and windchill were marginally warm and now..and the north wind had a bit of a bite to it..but it was a bight sunny day..with just of a hint of light clouds at the horizon..and besides it's just a short walk to Aldi..It was quite busy and apparently there were peeps who have a fair amount of fear  over the Corona-virus pandemic..the selves in the can food section were almost stripped clean..just crazy..if you look back historically almost ever Presidential Election Year here in the USA has it's  accompanying "crisis" and more often than not the severity of the problem has been blown way out of proportion..I remember the panic that occurred over the Y2K deal..which was in actuality a complete bust..nothing happened..well something did happen..I rarely stay up to see the  New Year in..but I did stay up that year just to see if there was any truth to the hype..and as I expected there was not..don't misunderstand..I think that precautions are justified..I think the funniest thing is that many are hording toilet paper..for a disease that affects the respiratory system not the intestinal one..oy vey....
Today  was a typical Sunday..there hasn't been squat on the old boob tube that has even been of marginally interest to me..which is a good thing..the new members queue on the FB group "the Farthest Side" which I'm a moderator at..which is usually busy on the weekends has been swamped this weekend..most likely from peeps who are staying in because of the "crisis" and have been spending more time then /usual on-line..
Still things to button up for the day..so I will leave you with my Best Wishes....
