Watertown, NY, USA . "Public Square" (vintage, date unknown) but the monument is honoring veterans of the American Civil War so the date of the image is late 1800s

("Berlin Celebration Concert" 1989)
I found the piece I'm listening to in my recommends on YouTube this AM, it's Beethoven's IX....the "Ode to Joy".....played in this case to celebrate the fall of the Berlin Wall.....an interesting note is that at the conductor's ( Bernstein) suggestion in the choral part the word "freedom" was substituted for the word "Joy".....hence the "Ode to Freedom".....(note: sung in German.....with an orchestra made up of players from both East and West Germany....and some from the allies)
Last night on a close inspection of my "Summer" hat it is what we used to call "a bit shop-worn"..okay more then a bit, a snap brim hat, on the golf course referred to as a "Hogan Hat"......but I hesitate to wash it because I'm quite sure the that the material used to stiffen the brim is cardboard.....so decided to take a walk today and find a new one.....however the weather had another idea......a solid day of rain....so the "Quest for Hat" will have to wait 'til the morrow
