(20:26 UTC-5)
(+28*F....wind-chill +17*F....wind 13 mph)
(Now Playing: "NCIS" re-runs on the USA Network)
The temperature is dropping again....and we are under a "lake effect snow" warning until mid-morning tomorrow....9 to 17 inches of snow possible....but the heaviest accumulation is expected slightly to the south and east of us....up on the Tug Hill Plateau....however all the wind has to do is shift a few degrees in it's direction....and we could get clobbered....
Based on that possibility....slim as it might be....i waited this morning until the rain changed to snow....temperature was in the mid-30's F....sidewalks were clear except for a few spots which were avoidable....had planned to go to the convenience store and Price Chopper....but  was talking to one of the kids that work the desk here on the 3 to 11 shift....who also works part-time at T.J Maxx and the fact that I was looking for a mortar and pestle....and she told me that they had them for sale....so T J Maxx is just a short detour....so added the side trip to my walk....and now have a marble mortar and pestle....saw a garlic press and that came home with me as well....all I got at Price Chopper were veg....some green onions, some purple turnips, a few shallots, and some parsnips....I've only had them once....years ago....in a mash....paired with potatoes....but I just diced them, salt and pepper and some good cheddar....and made an white egg dish....I will definitely get parsnips again....
