Watertown, NY, USA . "Public Square" (vintage, date unknown) but the monument is honoring veterans of the American Civil War so the date of the image is late 1800s

(17:14 UTC-5)
(+10*F...."feels like" -9*F....snow....winds 19 mph out of the west/south/west)
(Now Playing: "Beat Bobby Flay" re-runs on the Food Network)
Between the snow and the wind the visibility is maybe 100 feet....and at times less than that....commonly referred to as a "white out conditions"....and the wind direction of west/south/west is the direction from which historically we get our heaviest snowfalls....the dreaded "lake effect snow"....the small city I live in is about 20 miles "as the crow flies" off the east end of Lake Ontario....The manager where I live, lives about 20 miles south of here....last night the wind was out of a different direction slightly and the snow went to the south of us....they got at least 2 feet of snow, and it was still snowing....so will have to check with him tomorrow....that's assuming he can get here....
I had a couple of purple top turnips that were getting a little soft, and just a little parsnip left so decided to use them for my mid-day egg white dish....and just some chopped greens from green onions....but when I went to get out the liquid egg white that I use, saw the package of radishes....now I've love radishes....but have always eaten them raw....never cooked....but reasoning that they were after all  a "root veggie".....and chopped and added them to the dish....butter, salt. pepper, a dash of red pepper flake....some mozzarella and grated blue cheese....and of course the egg white....and was quite enjoyable....not all of my spur-of-the-moment ideas work out, but this one did....
