(20:50 UTC-5)
(+8*F....-3*F w/wind-chill....clear....winds out of the west at 2 mph)
(Now Playing: "Ender's Game on HBO2)
Well the repair of the leak in the boiler room took far less than feared....water was off for maybe 5 hours....and I didn't even use more then a little of what I had set aside....and despite the cold....wind-chills in the single digits and winds in the 15 mph range, the walk....well as far as the weather went was not unpleasant, but the sidewalks were a mess....we had gotten about 6" of snow over night....and none of the sidewalks on the way I had to walk were shoveled/blown/plowed or other wise cleared....but there had been people walking on  them and there were badly rutted....so the trip was physically demanding on this gimpy, grumpy, old codger....but it was worth the aggression....Aldi does not carry the root veggies that have come to be an  important part of my diet....when I was a kid....we lived in a rural area and had a large garden....and kept chickens....so fresh food in the summer time and my mom  both canned or froze a lot of what we grew for the winter....root veg and cabbage were common fare at  the table....
The weather will warm up mid-week through the weekend with temperatures in the mid 40's....but I've lived up here long enough to be cautious....I won't be surprised if old  man winter still doesn't have a few tricks in his bad to throw at us....
