[Now Playing: Bach "B-minor Mass" La Petite Bande [link]]
The performance of Bach's "B-minor Mass" is by Petite Bande....is with period instruments and with a very small group of voices....in other words done as it would have been originally....it has certain  transparency of the sound that I find quite pleasing....I enjoy listening to small groups singing/playing music of the Baroque period....almost as much as I used to enjoy being part of the performance....I had a CD of this particular  recording years ago....and was listening to a modern performance of the piece the other day by a modern large orchestra & large chorus....and missed the cleanness of the sound on the recording I once had....so tonight searched on Youtube and  there it was and will be bookmarked....
Have spent the day indoors....I awoke in the middle of the night with both of my knees singing the dirge they always do when the barometric pressure is taking a nosedive....they're a great predictor of heavy weather is on the way....it rained a little on and off all day....but just about dusk the heavens opened up and as we said back in the day "It rained cats and dogs"....with thunder and  lightning....but thankfully at a distance....no close strikes....weather is to be nice tomorrow....but the T-storms will return Saturday....Sunday and Monday's weather looks good....Monday being Memorial Day....and memories of two very different things....while in high school our school band marched in parades on Memorial Day....and took part in cemetery ceremonies  to honor the solders who had past....but the rest of the day as I grew up rural it was the day we planted the vegetable garden....one honoring the past heroes and the other in expectation of new life.....
