Watertown, NY, USA . "Public Square" (vintage, date unknown) but the monument is honoring veterans of the American Civil War so the date of the image is late 1800s

Well things didn't work out quite the way the weatherman predicted..we got at least a foot of snow..maybe more..but it's hard to tell with the wind at times over 30 mph..and even now they are in excess of 20 mph..there are places you can see the grass and in others there are drifts at least four feet high and several feet wide..the blizzard warning had been reduced to a lake effect snow warning..and earlier today the Watertown Police Department issued a ban on all unnecessary travel within the city..poor visibility and apparently the plows couldn't keep up with the snow..overnight the west winds over Lake Ontario were blowing from the west and the bulk of the snow went below us..but it than shifted to the west/south/west..when we get snow from that direction it puts Watertown NY were I live dead center in the "bull's eye"..seen it many times before..on the other hand although below freezing both Saturday and Sunday forecasts for Monday and Tuesday are for mid-40s and rain..at that point this mess will just be a memory..
Never had any intention of walking today anyways so the mess didn't really directly affect  me in any way..and brother I'm I glad that because of  my living arrangements I don't have to shovel and or deal with the removal of the snow in any way..
Just a very typical day..and things still to button up for the night..so..nite all....
