Watertown, NY, USA . "Public Square" (vintage, date unknown) but the monument is honoring veterans of the American Civil War so the date of the image is late 1800s

(9:23 AM EST)
(+20*F.....no wind chill)
(The Beat of Borodin)
We are under another "Winter Weather Advisory"....same old/same old....for about 12 hours today another 4-6" of snow possible.....just light snow now....most will probably go south of us in an area known as "Tug Hill".....but the name is a tad deceptive....it's full name is "The Tug Hill Plateau" (LINK)......and it covers a large hunk of northern New York State......and they usually get 300" of snow +/- most years......I have a few friends living up there....although the start of the plateau is just south of us the elevation of Watertown is 466'.....the elevation of the Tug Hill plateau is just under 2000'.....and being just off the east end of Lake Ontario...the only one of the Great Lakes that never completely freezes over in winter it gets the worst of the lake effect snow......
Looks like it's going to be another stay in the rooms day and I'll probably get out my board and surf the web......but starting Friday and the four days following it's forecasted  to be above +32*F....so there should be a day or two that the old MadTrollie can grab his cane and sling bag and get out and about......head cold is hangin' on but not bad at all.....
